Abstract

Liquid smoke, containing phenolic and acetic acid compounds with antimicrobial and antifungal properties, has potential as a biopesticide for pest and plant disease control. However, farmers have limited awareness and confidence in its effectiveness. To address this, technical training on liquid smoke application was conducted as part of the 2024 Community Service Program, aligned with the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. The program, implemented for Pokmas Dewi Sri in Jatiguwi Village, Sumberpucung District, Malang Regency, consisted of three stages: (1) initial discussions to identify issues, (2) education on converting agricultural waste into liquid smoke, and (3) evaluation. Training included an introduction to liquid smoke, its benefits, and hands-on production using pyrolysis of rice husks and straw at 350°C for two hours. Results showed that liquid smoke from these materials is effective as a biopesticide. Participants significantly improved their knowledge and skills in liquid smoke production and application. All ten Pokmas Dewi Sri members expressed high enthusiasm and provided positive feedback. This program enhances farmers’ capacity to utilize agricultural waste while reinforcing liquid smoke’s potential as an eco-friendly solution for sustainable pest control.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the process of digital art activities through ScratchJr to develop creativity in early childhood. This study uses a qualitative approach with children aged 5-6 years at Nur Hidayah IT Kindergarten Surakarta. Data collection was carried out through documentation, observation, and interviews. Data analysis uses the qualitative descriptive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing or verification. The results of this study suggest that digital art activities, such as those facilitated by ScratchJr, can encourage children to think imaginatively through a simple coding process that is both creative and fun, leveraging technology. Based on the results of interviews with children's teachers who are allowed to learn using technology more enthusiastically, imagination games such as ScratchJr can provide opportunities to think creatively, and children can freely express themselves with their creativity to make animations. Digital art activities through ScratchJr are recommended for early childhood learning, so that children can gain learning experiences using digital technology and stimulate creativity as a provision for the future.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat pemahaman dan kebutuhan guru TK terhadap literasi budaya anak usia dini. Menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan metode survey, data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman guru terhadap literasi budaya berada pada ketegori tinggi, terutama dalam aspek konseptual dan urgensinya, namun terdapat kesenjangan antara pemahaman dan penerapan di kelas. Guru juga menghadapi kendala dalam kurangnya  pelatihan serta minimnya dukungan dari dinas pendidikan kebudayaan. Di sisi lain, mayoritas guru menunjukkan kebutuhan yang tinggi terhadap media pembelajaran berbasis budaya lokal yang menarik perhatian dan aplikatif, seperti pop-up book dan media digital berbasis budaya. Kesenjangan ini menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan konseptual guru belum sepenuhnya terinternalisasi dalam praktik pembelajaran karena terbatasnya pelatihan kontekstual dan dukungan kelembagaan. Oleh karena itu, penguatan literasi budaya anak usia dini perlu diupayakan melalui pengembangan strategi, kebijakan, dan media yang berbasis nilai budaya lokal agar dapat menumbuhkan identitas budaya dan karakter anak sejak dini.

Abstract

This study examines the differences in drawing patterns of kindergarten children during free drawing and guided drawing, using educational video stimuli. The research aims to describe the characteristics of children’s drawings in both contexts and analyze changes that occur after receiving visual guidance. Employing a descriptive quantitative approach with a one-group pretest–posttest design, the study involved 25 children aged 5–6 years selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using observation sheets that assessed eight indicators of early childhood drawing development, including clarity and detail of form, balance of size and layout, and purposeful use of color. Pretest activities consisted of a 20-minute free drawing session, followed by a posttest after participants watched a 5–7-minute educational video about bees. Descriptive analysis showed an increase in the overall mean score from 2.5 (pretest) to 3 (posttest), indicating notable improvement across all indicators. Children’s posttest drawings displayed clearer and more detailed bee forms, more balanced composition, and purposeful color application. These findings suggest that structured visual media effectively support children’s perceptual-motor and visual-spatial skills, and can be used as a practical strategy to enhance artistic and cognitive development in early childhood classrooms.

Abstract

This research explores the concept of gender equality through the lens of two prominent Indonesian Islamic thinkers—Nasaruddin Umar and Musdah Mulia—framed within the context of Sustainable Development Goal 5 (Gender Equality). Employing a qualitative, comparative literature-based methodology with a hermeneutic approach, the study analyzes primary sources authored by both figures alongside secondary literature on gender and SDGs. Findings indicate both thinkers agree that the Qur’an recognizes distinctions between men and women without condoning discrimination. They both cite foundational verses (e.g., QS 49:13, 16:97) to argue that gender equality is a core Islamic value, supporting the notion that differences should foster harmony, not hierarchy. However, Nasaruddin's work contributes an in-depth analysis of ten interpretive biases rooted in linguistic and cultural factors, while Musdah emphasizes monotheism (tawhid) as the foundation of equality and critiques patriarchal misinterpretations. This study contributes a novel perspective by connecting Islamic gender ethics with the global SDG agenda, particularly within Muslim-majority societies. It argues that contextual reinterpretation of religious texts and alignment with universal development goals can foster inclusive and equitable social transformation. Thus, the research presents a culturally adaptive model to support SDG 5 through Islamic teachings.

Abstract

This study examines how employee capabilities and technology-mediated channels shape well-being in hierarchical hotel contexts marked by coercive leadership. Drawing on Approach–Avoidance Motivation and Diffusion of Innovation, we theorize a resource-and-channels model in which (a) Exapro-a capability bundle combining professional experience and proactive personality-enhances employee well-being, and (b) electronic diffusion of innovation (e-DOI) strengthens the welfare returns to Exapro by providing safer, auditable pathways for idea sharing when face-to-face voice is risky. We test the model using a three-wave longitudinal design across 26 three- to five-star hotels in Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta (Indonesia) with N = 100 employees concentrated in frontline, rotating-shift roles. Using PLS-SEM (SmartPLS 4), measurement properties met recommended thresholds. Results show that the direct effect of despotic leadership on well-being is not significant (H1 rejected) once resources and channels are modeled. By contrast, despotic leadership positively predicts Exapro (H2 supported), Exapro positively predicts well-being (H3 supported), and e-DOI positively moderates the Exapro → well-being link (H4 supported). The model explains a moderate share of variance in well-being (R² ≈ .52). The findings reframe leader–well-being debates by demonstrating a suppressed/contingent direct effect of despotism and highlighting that what employees can do (Exapro) and how they can safely make it visible (e-DOI) are pivotal for sustaining well-being. Practically, hotels should build experience-based scripts, select/develop for proactivity, and institutionalize digital codification of micro-innovations while strengthening leadership accountability.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the moral values taught, the challenges faced, and the needs of teachers in instilling moral values in early childhood education. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation and interviews with 10 early childhood and kindergarten institutions in Bantul. The findings show that respect, honesty, responsibility, discipline, and empathy are the most dominant values taught through habituation, modeling, and daily routines. Teachers reported challenges such as children’s limited concentration, behavioral diversity, and low family involvement, and emphasized the need for continuous training, innovative teaching, and stronger collaboration with parents. These challenges arise from the unique developmental characteristics of early childhood and the lack of consistency between school and family moral education. Therefore, contextual and engaging learning strategies are needed to ensure effective internalization of moral values. This study highlights the teacher’s role as a model and facilitator of character development and the importance of parent collaboration. Its impact provides practical insights for educators and policymakers to design integrated, family-based moral education programs that strengthen children’s character formation from an early age.

Abstract

Pada industri gondorukem dan terpentin menghasilkan air limbah yang mengandung jonjot dan minyak terpentin terlarut. Pada tahap awal pengolahan air limbah di Instalasi Pengolahan Air Limbah (IPAL), air limbah diolah dalam suatu separator guna memisahkan jonjot dan minyak terpentin dari air limbah. Namun demikian, proses pemisahan dalam separator masih belum efektif sehingga effluent separator masih memiliki kandungan minyak terpentin tinggi, dimana kondisi demikian mengakibatkan gangguan dan penurunan kualitas kinerja IPAL. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan proses pre-treatment sebelum separator melalui penggunaan proses demulsifikasi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh kecepatan pengadukan dan dosis demulsifier pada proses demulsifikasi terhadap efektifitas kinerja separator. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan alat aeration apparatus dengan variasi kecepatan pengadukan serta penambahan dosis demulsifier. Variabel yang digunakan adalah kecepatan pengadukan pada 787 rpm, 905 rpm, dan 1088 rpm, dan dosis demulsifier 1000 ppm, 2000 ppm, dan 3000 ppm. Parameter yang diuji adalah Total Suspended Solid (TSS), Non-volatile (NV), dan Dissolved Oxygen (DO). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada kecepatan 787 rpm, dan dosis demulsifier 2000 ppm mampu menurunan kadar Total Suspened Solid (TSS) sebesar 88,43%. Sedangkan pengadukan 1088 rpm dan dosis demulsifier sebesar 3000 ppm mampu menurunkan konsentrasi Non-volatile (NV), dan Dissolved Oxygen (DO) masing-masing sebesar 35% dan 61,76%. Kombinasi kecepatan pengadukan 1088 rpm dengan dosis demulsifier 3000 ppm memberikan hasil terbaik secara keseluruhan dalam proses demulsifikasi.

Abstract

Piramidisasi gen adalah salah satu teknik pemuliaan yang dapat digunakan untuk menggabungkan beberapa gen yang menguntungkan dari banyak tetua ke dalam satu genotipe tanaman. Daya hasil tinggi, tahan terhadap wereng coklat, kandungan amilosa sedang, umur genjah dan aromatik adalah beberapa karakter yang diharapkan untuk digabungkan untuk memenuhi keinginan petani dan konsumen. Penelitian bertujuan memperoleh genotipe yang memiliki marka molekuler yang terkait dengan karakter agronomis, mendapatkan informasi keragaman genetik dan mengetahui hubungan kekerabatan 115 genotipe padi generasi F4 hasil piramidisasi. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan September – November 2021 di Kebun Percobaan Ciparanje dan Laboratorium Pemuliaan Tanaman, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Padjadjaran. Analisis molekuler dilakukan dengan menggunakan marka Simple Sequence Repeats (SSR) yaitu IFAP/ESP terpaut gen (fgr/fragrance), SSIIa (waxy), RM586 (Bph3 dan bph4), RM8213 (Qbph4 dan bph17(t)), RM259 (qPN1), RM7601 (Hd2/heading date), RM19414 (Hd3/heading), RM3701 (SP1/short panicle), RM3600 (LP1/long panicle), dan RM282 (GW3/grain weight). Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis varians molekuler (AMOVA), sedangkan untuk analisis klaster dilakukan menggunakan Unweighted Pair Group Method with Arithmetic Averages (UPGMA). Diperoleh sebanyak enam puluh genotipe yang teridentifikasi memiliki marka molekuler terkait beberapa karakter agronomis. Keragaman genetik secara molekuler genotipe hasil piramidisasi didapatkan variasi genetik sebesar 36% di dalam genotipe, 63% antar genotipe dan 1% antar populasi. Berdasarkan analisis cluster dengan 10 marka molekuler menunjukkan 64%  ketidakmiripan antar tetua dan genotipe hasil piramidisasi dan mengelompok dalam dua kelompok. Jauhnya jarak genetik menunjukkan bukti keberhasilan piramidisasi gen, yang ditunjukkan dengan besarnya variasi alel yang berasal dari tetua yang beragam. Genotipe-genotipe yang terpilih akan dievaluasi lebih lanjut karakter agronominya  untuk mengkonfirmasi potensi galur-galur tersebut sebagai galur unggul pada beberapa karakter.

Abstract

Pendidikan anak usia dini (PAUD) merupakan pendidikan pada jenjang yang membantu anak berkembang secara optimal pada seluruh aspek perkembangan. Salah satu aspek perkembangan yang penting untuk diperhatikan adalah aspek perkembangan seni yang berkontribusi pada kemampuan ekspresi dan kreativitas anak yang harus dikemas dengan baik. Pengemasan seni yang baik memerlukan manajemen yang mencakup perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi pebelajaran yang kontekstual dan sesuai dengan karakteristik anak usia dini. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendeskripsikan manajemen pengemasan kegiatan seni pada anak usia dini dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tiga tahap yaitu  reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengemasan seni yang efektif memerlukan perencanaan terstruktur, pemanfaatan bahan lokal, pendekatan tematik dan keterlibatan orang tua sangat penting sebagai mitra pembelajaran Studi ini menekankan pentingnya sinergi antara sekolah dan rumah dalam menumbuhkan potensi seni anak sejak dini
