Abstract

Inflammation occurs when the body reacts to infection, irritation, or other damage. Some compounds in kluwih leaves are believed to have anti-inflammatory potential, one of which is flavonoids. The aim of this study was to find out the activity and effective dosage of the ethanol extract from kluwih leaves as an anti-inflammatory in male white Wistar rats. The experimental animals were divided into five groups: the negative control group (0.5% Na-CMC), the positive control group (Na-diclofenac), and the three treatment groups were given ethanol extract from kluwih leaves at doses of 175, 350, and 700 mg/KgBW orally. After 30 minutes, the soles of the rats' feet were induced with 0.1 ml of 1% carrageenan subplantarly. Edema volume was assessed every 1 hour for 6 hours using a plethysmometer. The data was statistically analyzed using One-Way ANOVA with LSD post hoc test. The research data shows that the ethanol extract of kluwih leaves at doses 175, 350, and 700 mg/KgBW has anti-inflammatory activity. The effective dose of kluwih leaf ethanol extract was 700 mg/KgBW (28.68%) with the second highest percentage of anti-inflammatory power value after the positive control group (31.75%). The LSD (Least Significant Difference) results indicate that the ethanol extract of kluwih leaf at a dose of 700 mg/KgBW does not show a significant difference in its anti-inflammatory effect with the positive control (0.442>0.05).

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of the digital reading platform ReadWorks in improving the reading comprehension skills of high school students. A within-subject design was employed, wherein students experienced two phases of treatment: the use of conventional teaching methods and the application of the ReadWorks platform, with a washout period in between to minimize carryover effects. The research was conducted with second-grade students at SMA Negeri 16 Samarinda, using a standardized reading comprehension test to assess performance. Paired samples t-tests were utilized to analyze the data. The findings revealed a significant improvement in students' reading comprehension scores when using the ReadWorks platform compared to conventional methods. The statistical analysis shows that the p-values for both the experimental group (p = 0.000) and the control group (p = 0.000) are less than the significance level of 0.05, leading to the rejection of the Null Hypothesis (H0) and acceptance of the Alternative Hypothesis (Ha). These results indicates that the ReadWorks platform is effective in enhancing reading comprehension skills among high school students. The study contributes to the growing body of literature advocating for the integration of digital tools in education to improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

In an effort to boost the learning motivation of high school elementary school students, the teacher's efforts to leave this learning open at the end of the PKN semester. Understanding and improving student learning outcomes in PKN learning can be supplemented by increasing learning motivation. The aim of this study was to identify teacher tools to increase the learning motivation of high school elementary students during PKN classes. This study uses a qualitative case study methodology. The method used to gather information for this study is called objective sampling. In this research instrument, the researchers themselves collected data using observation techniques, questionnaires, and document analysis. Data analysis techniques use data collection, editorial, display, and conclusion steps. The guarantor of the validity of the data in this third study combines the method of collecting data by combining triangulation. The results of the study indicated the need for greater motivation to teach high grade students during Internship classes. One of the factors that causes students' learning motivation to be lower than it should be is their exposure to less than ideal learning environments and less than ideal teaching methods. Therefore the advice given by the teacher to increase student learning motivation is to use teaching strategies that can do this. This includes offering counselling services and using ice-breaker activities such as games and ice hockey.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease caused by metabolic disorders characterized by elevated blood glucose levels or hyperglycemia. The aim of diabetes mellitus treatment is to control blood glucose levels within the normal range, eliminate accompanying clinical symptoms, and reduce the risk of acute complications. To achieve therapeutic goals, pharmacological therapy can be administered using antidiabetic drugs. This research is an observational study involving retrospective data collection of outpatients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who used antidiabetic drugs. The prescribed antidiabetic drugs were then analyzed using the Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical (ATC) and Defined Daily Dose (DDD) methods. Data on antidiabetic drugs were collected and entered into the Microsoft Excel program to calculate the DDD/1000 KPRJ value and the 90% Du segment. The results showed that there were 7 antidiabetic drugs used, namely glimepiride, gliquidone, gliclazide, metformin, acarbose, vildagliptin, and pioglitazone, with glimepiride having the highest DDD value of 445.92 DDD/1000 KPRJ and gliquidone having the lowest DDD value of 128.70 DDD/1000 KPRJ. Meanwhile, glimepiride and metformin were the antidiabetic drugs included in the 90% Du segment.

Abstract

Teachers have different backgrounds, and their opinions regarding "creative teaching" or "good teaching" methods are frequently shaped by a range of elements, such as their own teaching experiences, personal incentives, and organizational limitations. This setting frames teachers' initial attempts to cultivate creative practices, and their recognition of these effects influences their subsequent level of creativity. The goal of this research is to discover the characteristics that influence English language teaching (ELT) teachers' creativity. Researchers interviewed six English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers to learn more about the elements that drive their passion and creativity in the classroom. Researchers discovered that teachers' motivation, technology, school support, colleagues, and teaching knowledge and experience all had an impact on their creativity. Teachers can use these five aspects as guidelines to help them incorporate creativity into their lessons. Participants also believed that their creativity was required to inspire creativity in students, make learning fun, and support their learning. The quickly evolving potential of digital environments to support student-centered and self-directed learning seems to contribute to this belief. Ultimately, this study demonstrates that teachers do not naturally possess creativity, but they may cultivate it by adopting new ideas and improving their creative teaching skills.
