Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a non-communicable disease with increasing prevalence and is the main cause of various degenerative complications such as heart disease, kidney failure, and neuropathy. Education and early detection efforts play an important role in increasing public awareness of DM risk factors and the importance of early prevention and control. This promotive and preventive strategy is expected to reduce the prevalence of DM and the risk of long-term complications, and improve the overall health status of the community. Objective: to increase community knowledge and early detection of diabetes mellitus as an effort to reduce the prevalence and risk of degenerative diseases. The method of implementing this activity is by conducting education about Diabetes Mellitus and early detection of Diabetes Mellitus through blood sugar and blood pressure checks. The results of blood pressure examination obtained 83% normal blood pressure, 12% mild hypertension, 3% moderate hypertension 2% with severe hypertension. The results of blood sugar checks were 96% normal, 2% prediabetes and 2% diabetes

By analyzing laws and regulations on digital monitoring across various countries, the study highlights the challenges and ethical concerns associated with widespread surveillance technologies. The findings emphasize the need for stronger legal frameworks to protect privacy without compromising security.

Abstract

Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers in women and can be prevented or treated early through early detection. It is important to introduce breast self-examination (SADARI) as early as adolescence to increase awareness of changes in the breast and encourage healthy living behaviors early on. Objective: To analyze the effect of video media on the level of knowledge of adolescent girls about breast self-examination (SADARI) at SMAN 1 Taebenu, Kupang Regency. Methods: This study is a quantitative research with pre-experiment research design with one group pre-post test design without control group. The sample size was 76 respondents. This research was conducted at SMAN 1 Taebenu, Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. The sampling technique used was stratified random sampling and analysis using the Wilcoxon test. Results: There is an effect of video media on the level of knowledge of adolescent girls about breast self-examination (SADARI) in adolescent girls at SMAN 1 Taebenu, Kupang Regency. after being given education with video media about SADARI, there was an increase in the knowledge of 72 respondents in the good category (95%), while as many as 4 people (5%) were in the category of moderate knowledge level. Respondents who have sufficient knowledge about SADARI after being given education with video media, due to various factors, one of which is that respondents do not pay good attention when given education

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of tax literacy and a modern tax administration system on taxpayer compliance in paying land and building tax (PBB) in the digital era, particularly in Medan City. The research method used a quantitative approach, collecting data through questionnaires distributed to individual taxpayers in Medan City. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression to examine the relationship between tax literacy and the modern tax administration system on taxpayer compliance levels. The results indicate that tax literacy has a positive and significant effect on taxpayer compliance, where increased tax understanding encourages awareness and compliance in fulfilling tax obligations. Furthermore, the implementation of a modern, digital-based tax administration system also positively contributes to simplifying the reporting and payment of land and building tax in Medan City. This study implies that improving tax education and modernizing the tax administration system are crucial for improving tax compliance in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the level of effectiveness and the extent of the contribution of local taxes to the Regional Original Revenue (PAD) in cities and regencies within the North Sumatra (Sumut) region for the years 2023–2024. Regional Original Revenue refers to the income earned by a local government sourced from the potential within its own territory. Effectiveness is defined as the extent to which an organization successfully achieves its predetermined goals, while contribution refers to the proportion or percentage of PAD relative to the total regional revenue. The research employs a quantitative approach, using secondary data collected from publicly available financial reports. These data were obtained from the official website of the Directorate General of Fiscal Balance at https://djpk.kemenkeu.go.id/portal/data/apbd and further reviewed to generate a clear and systematic description. The research population includes all cities and regencies in the North Sumatra region, with the final sample consisting of 66 data points, derived from 33 regions over a 2-year period. A descriptive quantitative method was used to analyze the data. This approach, rooted in positivist philosophy, allows for systematic observation and evaluation of existing facts based on the selected research objects. The descriptive analysis focuses on measuring the effectiveness and contribution levels of local taxes in supporting PAD. The results of the study indicate that the effectiveness of local tax collection in North Sumatra is categorized as fairly effective, with an average effectiveness rate of 84%. Furthermore, the contribution of local taxes to PAD is also considered good, with an average contribution rate of 33%. These findings suggest that local taxes play a significant role in generating regional revenue and that efforts by regional governments in North Sumatra to manage tax collection have been reasonably successful. The results also highlight the need for continued improvement to optimize local tax revenue and strengthen regional fiscal independence.

Abstract

The library is a place of literacy that offers various collections of books and information resources. This study aims to see the role of the Sungai Penuh City Library in improving the literacy of the village community of Sungai Penuh City. The method used is a case study with the selection of informants using purposive sampling techniques. The data analysis is used in three ways, namely: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the role of the Sungai Penuh City Library in improving the literacy of the village community is: 1) Basic literacy: The Sungai Penuh City Library not only functions as a place to read and borrow books, but also as a center for developing basic literacy for children and an educational tourism destination for early childhood (PAUD / TK); 2) Reading Club: The Sungai Penuh City Library carries out training activities for village library managers to drive village reading corner activities; 3) Literacy training: The existence of the Social Inclusion-Based Library Transformation Program from the Sungai Penuh City Library is expected to provide village communities with opportunities to improve literacy and reading interest in the community; and 4) Collaboration with the community: The Sungai Penuh City Library Service previously collaborated with the Kincai Children's Volunteer Community to improve children's literacy in the Sungai Penuh City village.

Abstract

: Diare masih menjadi salah satu penyebab utama kesakitan pada balita di Indonesia, termasuk di Kota Kupang. Rendahnya pengetahuan masyarakat tentang tanda bahaya diare serta kurangnya keterampilan kader Posyandu dalam penatalaksanaan awal menjadi tantangan tersendiri. Oleh karena itu, penguatan kapasitas kader melalui pendekatan MTBS sangat penting untuk mendeteksi dini, memberikan penanganan awal, serta melakukan rujukan tepat waktu terhadap kasus diare pada balita. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk Meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kader Posyandu tentang MTBS khususnya penatalaksanaan diare. Meningkatkan peran aktif kader dalam deteksi dini, edukasi keluarga, dan penanganan awal balita dengan diare di masyarakat. Mendukung program Puskesmas dalam penurunan angka kesakitan akibat diare pada balita. Kegiatan dilakukan melalui beberapa tahapan: Survei awal (pre-test) untuk mengukur pengetahuan kader. Penyuluhan dan pelatihan interaktif mengenai konsep MTBS dan penanganan diare. Simulasi dan demonstrasi langsung pemberian oralit, edukasi gizi, dan pengenalan tanda bahaya. Pemberian media edukasi berupa leaflet dan buku saku kader. Hasil yang dicapai:Terdapat peningkatan signifikan pada pemahaman kader mengenai tanda bahaya diare dan tata cara penanganan awalTerjalin kerja sama yang baik antara tim abdimas, dan kader, Kader mampu membuat larutan oralit rumah tangga, mengenali tanda dehidrasi, dan memahami alur rujukan. Kesimpulan: Kegiatan pengabdian ini terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kapasitas kader Posyandu Kamboja dalam penatalaksanaan balita sakit, khususnya diare, melalui pendekatan MTBS. Peningkatan peran kader menjadi kunci dalam mempercepat deteksi dan penanganan kasus diare di tingkat masyarakat.Saran: Kader didorong untuk aktif melaporkan dan mendokumentasikan kasus diare balita ke Puskesmas

Abstract

Mencermati kompleksitas penumpukan sampah dan pengelolaannya masih menyisakan persoalan. Terlebih mekanisme yang mengusung semangat mitigasi penyakit DBD, justru belum diformulasikan secara tegas di setiap desa, salah satunya Desa Plumbon.  Desa Plumbon belum memahami pengolahan sampah dan cara untuk mencegah penyakit akibat sampah yang sehingga tidak tercapainya hidup yang bersih dan sehat. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan sebuah langkah konkrit melalui sosialisasi pembuatan spray anti nyamuk dari serai dan penggunaan abate. Problematika demikian diteliti dengan merujuk bahan hukum primer dan bahan hukum sekunder berbasis pendekatan konseptual. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Perlunya kesadaran masyarakat terkait pengolahan sampah; 2) Pemanfaatan serai sebagai spray anti nyamuk merupkan inovasi yang mudah diterapkan dan terjangkau; 3) Sosialiasi tim KKN EPPM 36 UNS terkait penggunaan spray anti nyamuk dan abate mampu menyadarkan masyarakat terkait pentingnya mengolah sampah dan pentingnya menjaga kesehatan.  Hal tersebut harus ditempuh dengan melibatkan kerjasama antar berbagai stakeholder  yakni Dinas Lingkungan Hidup Kabupaten Karanganyar, Pemerintah Desa Plumbon, serta Masyarakat Desa Plumbon.

Abstract

Character is something that exists in each individual who is formed in the family environment since childhood. However, character also exists in each individual from birth. Good character can be formed through education, one of which is through character education in schools. To make it happen, it can be done by instilling character values in students. One of the characters that must be formed from an early age is the character that cares for the environment. The formation of a caring character for the environment can be started from the school environment by keeping the school clean. By getting used to students protecting the school environment, students will care about the environment around them. Programs that are usually carried out in schools have elements of K3 (cleanliness, beauty, neatness), including pickets together in classrooms and in the school environment as well as learning to care for plants and take care of them. This program aims to strengthen and increase awareness activities of students in schools in order to keep the environment clean and take care of the surrounding plants. Because with a clean school environment, it will make students and teachers comfortable in carrying out teaching and learning activities.
