Abstract

Islamic education during the time of the Prophet Muhammad  emphasized an integrative and transformative approach, combining cognitive, affective, and moral dimensions. However, modern education tends to promote superficial learning that focuses primarily on memorization and cognitive achievement, thereby failing to foster deep understanding and behavioral transformation among learners. This study aims to analyze the integration of the Prophet’s teaching methods with the deep learning paradigm as a solution to this issue. The research employs a library research method with a descriptive-analytical approach and content analysis technique, using sources such as the Qur’an, Hadith, classical Islamic literature, and contemporary academic journals. The findings reveal that the Prophet’s methods—exemplary conduct, interactive dialogue, and contextual learning—align with the three main pillars of deep learning: meaningful learning, mindful learning, and joyful learning. Critically, this model not only emphasizes conceptual understanding but also encourages moral reflection, value internalization, and behavioral transformation. The study implies that this integration can serve as a philosophical and pedagogical foundation for developing a more meaningful, humanistic, and transformative Islamic education in the modern era.

Abstract

Purpose of the Study: This study aims to analyze the impact of implementing the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on fostering religious moderation attitudes among class XI students at MAN IC Bengkulu Tengah. Methodology: The research employs a quantitative approach with a sample of class XI students at MAN IC Bengkulu Tengah. Data were analyzed using the Spearman Rank correlation to determine the relationship between PBL implementation and students' religious moderation attitudes. Observations, pretests, and posttests were conducted to support data reliability and validity. Main Findings: The results demonstrate that the PBL model significantly contributes to developing religious moderation attitudes, with a 92% improvement observed among the participants. Through active engagement in problem-solving, students enhanced their critical thinking and analytical skills, enabling them to apply balanced and moderate perspectives in religious and social contexts. The study highlights that integrating real-world issues into Akidah Akhlak lessons through PBL effectively encourages students to embrace diversity and avoid radical tendencies. Novelty/Originality of the Study: This research pioneers the application of PBL in Islamic education, particularly in fostering religious moderation, a critical value in pluralistic societies. It addresses a significant gap in the literature by offering evidence-based insights into the role of innovative pedagogical models in shaping attitudes aligned with inclusivity and tolerance. The study also underscores the potential of PBL to modernize Islamic education by bridging theoretical knowledge with practical, real-world applications, thereby advancing students' holistic character development.

Abstract

Purpose of the Study: This study aims to analyze the correlation between students’ experiences of learning during the COVID-19 health protocol period and their academic behavior at Islamic Religious Colleges. The research seeks to identify contributing and inhibiting factors shaping students' academic attitudes under pandemic-induced learning conditions. Methodology: The study employs a mixed-method sequential exploratory design. Quantitative data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed with Pearson’s product-moment correlation, while qualitative data were gathered through interviews, observations, and documentation, followed by thematic analysis to identify key influencing factors. The integration of both approaches provides a comprehensive understanding of the research problem. Main Findings: The study reveals a significant correlation between students’ learning experiences during COVID-19 and their academic behavior. Key contributing factors include personal motivation (intrinsic and extrinsic), social support (from peers, family, and educators), an optimized study environment (free from distractions), and tailored learning methods that align with individual preferences. Conversely, inhibiting factors such as environmental disturbances (noise or instability at home) and lack of motivation negatively impacted learning outcomes. A unique finding is that the stressful and uncertain conditions during the pandemic fostered a resilient mindset among students, positively influencing their academic attitudes. Novelty/Originality of the Study: This study uniquely highlights how the challenging learning environment created by the pandemic cultivated adaptive academic behaviors in students. By combining quantitative and qualitative insights, the study offers a detailed understanding of how crisis-driven experiences shape student behavior, providing valuable implications for post-pandemic educational strategies.

Abstract

Digital transformation in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) has encouraged various learning innovations adapted to Generation Z characteristics; however, the alignment between digital pedagogy and the holistic goals of the IRE curriculum remains challenging. This study aims to analyze the relevance, pedagogical approaches, and alignment of digital Islamic pedagogy with the objectives of the IRE curriculum through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The study employed PRISMA 2020 guidelines by reviewing articles indexed in Scopus and SINTA from 2021–2026. A total of 28 eligible articles were analyzed using thematic synthesis. The findings reveal that digital Islamic pedagogy is still dominated by technology-based approaches focusing primarily on taklim or cognitive dimensions. Its alignment with the IRE curriculum tends to be partial, as affective and spiritual dimensions remain insufficiently accommodated. Therefore, the development of digital pedagogical designs integrating taklim, tarbiyah, and takdib holistically is urgently needed.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of Islamic educational games on students’ discipline character at SMPIT Al Marjan Bengkulu City. This study aims to identify how effectively Islamic educational games can shape and improve students’ disciplinary behavior in the learning process. This study employed an associative research method with both quantitative and qualitative approaches. Data were collected using questionnaires and interviews. Statistical analysis was performed using IBM SPSS version 26, including validity, reliability, linear regression, and hypothesis testing. Instruments used were Likert-scale questionnaires and structured interview guides with 50 student participants. The results indicate that Islamic educational games significantly influence students’ discipline character, with a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05 and a t-value of 3.654 > 0.279. The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.218) shows that 21.8% of the variation in students’ discipline character is explained by the use of Islamic educational games. Qualitative findings suggest inconsistent student engagement, limited motivation, and moderate perceived benefits toward improving discipline and learning responsibility. This study introduces an integrated analysis combining quantitative regression and qualitative interviews to evaluate the impact of Islamic educational games on students’ discipline character. It provides new insights into how faith-based digital media can serve as an alternative educational tool to foster behavioral discipline, enriching existing character education research from an Islamic pedagogical perspective.
