Abstract

This study aims to formulate a performance improvement strategy for Indonesian higher education institutions in the digital era. A qualitative approach, using in-depth interviews with 10 purposively selected higher education management experts, was employed. Participants were chosen based on their expertise and experience in autonomous public universities. Data were collected over 81 days via online interviews and analyzed using six-stage thematic analysis. The findings identify three strategic stages. First, institutions should develop digital capability (DC) and organizational agility (OA) as foundational capacities. Second, DC and OA act as key enablers of the digital transformation strategy (DTS). Third, DTS can be strengthened by focusing on electronic customer relationship management (E-CRM) to deliver data-driven, personalized services. This study proposes a structured framework for digital transformation in higher education. However, the findings are limited to expert perspectives and require further validation through broader, longitudinal studies.

Abstract

Religiosity has been widely recognized as an important determinant of consumer attitudes and behavior. However, existing measures are often developed within non-Islamic contexts or focus on specific aspects of Muslim religiosity, resulting in limited consensus regarding a comprehensive measure grounded in Islamic teachings. In particular, there remains a lack of validated instruments that integrate the foundational Islamic concepts of iman (faith) and taqwa (piety) into a holistic construct suitable for contemporary Muslim consumer contexts. This study aims to develop and validate a new construct, namely Holistic Islamic Religiosity, among Islamic banking consumers in Indonesia. A mixed-method sequential exploratory design was employed, utilizing a Systematic Literature Review of 76 selected articles in the qualitative phase, followed by a quantitative survey of 403 customers analyzed via Exploratory Factor Analysis and Confirmatory Factor Analysis. The findings demonstrate that Holistic Islamic Religiosity comprises two interrelated dimensions: Faith (four indicators: belief in God, the importance of religion, its influence on life, and social responsibility) and Piety (three indicators: ritual worship, daily supplication, and avoidance of sinful behavior). The model exhibits satisfactory validity and reliability, contributing a theoretically grounded instrument for future research in Islamic banking, finance, marketing, and halal tourism.

Abstract

As digital transformation progresses, understanding the elements that motivate students in higher education to pursue digital entrepreneurship has become increasingly essential. Indonesia, as one of the largest developing digital economies, provides a vital context where high digital literacy among youth has not yet translated into strong entrepreneurial activity, making its university students a critical population for examining the education–intention gap. Most prior studies addressed digital entrepreneurial education and competence independently, with limited efforts to link them in explaining entrepreneurial motivation. This research analyzes the intermediary influence of digital entrepreneurial self-efficacy in bridging the effects of digital entrepreneurial education and digital competence on students’ entrepreneurial intentions among 173 university students in West Java, Indonesia, utilizing a structural equation modeling approach. Analysis outcomes demonstrate that digital education and competence strengthen students’ confidence to initiate digital ventures. This heightened self-efficacy, in turn, becomes the most decisive factor influencing entrepreneurial intention. Digital competence alone does not directly foster intention but becomes influential when accompanied by strong self-belief, indicating that technical proficiency must be complemented by psychological readiness. The research merges the theory of planned behavior and social cognitive theory to construct its conceptual framework to connect intention development with efficacy processes, illustrating how digital learning and skills collectively foster entrepreneurial motivation. Practically, it highlights the importance of educational designs that simultaneously build competence and confidence to cultivate capable and resilient digital entrepreneurs.

Abstract

Purpose – This study examines the influence of Pos Indonesia’s new logo and service quality on the intention to use Pos Indonesia services, with brand image as an intervening variable. This topic is important because Pos Indonesia has renewed its visual identity as part of its transformation, while consumer intention in service industries is influenced not only by visual elements but also by service experience and brand perception. Design/methodology/approach – This study employed a quantitative approach with an explanatory survey design. Primary data were collected through questionnaires distributed to members of the Pospreneur Webinar Community. The research variables included the new logo, service quality, brand image, and intention to use services. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) to test direct and indirect relationships among variables. Finding/Results – The findings show that the new logo has a significant positive effect on brand image, but does not directly have a significant effect on intention to use services. Service quality has a significant positive effect on both brand image and intention to use services. Brand image also significantly influences intention to use services and mediates the relationship between the new logo and service quality toward intention to use services. Originality/Value – This study indicates that logo renewal can strengthen brand image, but consumer intention to use services is more strongly driven by service quality and positive brand perception. Therefore, rebranding should be supported by consistent service improvement.

Abstract

Hiking is one of the popular sport tourism activities in Indonesia, especially in West Java Province. It’s not only favored by professionals but also amateurs who are eager to spend their leisure time outdoors. These participants do the activity based on various motivations and preferences. Activity preferences are activities chosen by sport tourism participants and can be used as a basis for conducting market segmentation. This study aimed to investigate dominant factors of participants’ outdoor recreation motivation and its influence on outdoor activity preferences. Quantitative research was used in this study. Data were collected from 411 respondents who hiked Ciremai Mountain and Papandayan Mountain in West Java Province. Data were analysed using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and Structural Equation Model (SEM). Results showed that achievement, learning and sociality, independent and personal development, and relaxation formed outdoor activity motivation. The most dominant factor was learning and sociality, while the least dominant was relaxation. Motivation was also proven to have a significant influence on activity preference. Most of the hikers were willing to explore and learn new things when they hiked, which can be an opportunity for the management to socialize sustainable behaviour aspects around the area.

Abstract

Rising market, technological, and environmental uncertainties challenge Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the food and beverage sector, making strategic foresight and entrepreneurial orientation essential for adaptability and competitiveness. This study aims to examine the effects of strategic foresight and entrepreneurial orientation on business adaptability in navigating uncertainty among food and beverage MSMEs in Jakarta. A quantitative approach with a cross-sectional survey design was employed. Data were collected from 100 MSME owners or managers using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using structural equation modeling–partial least squares. The results indicate that strategic foresight has a significant positive effect on business adaptability, while entrepreneurial orientation strengthens innovation, proactiveness, and organizational resilience. Furthermore, business adaptability is found to mediate the relationship between strategic foresight and the ability of MSMEs to navigate business uncertainty. These findings highlight the importance of integrating foresight and entrepreneurial orientation as dynamic capabilities to enhance MSME resilience. This study contributes theoretically to the dynamic capabilities perspective and provides practical insights for business practitioners and policymakers in strengthening the adaptive capacity of food and beverage MSMEs amid an increasingly uncertain business environment.

Abstract

The logistics sector in Indonesia faces high costs, infrastructure gaps, and turbulence from e-commerce growth and regulatory changes, especially in West Java, a key hub for third-party logistics providers. Digital transformation promises better efficiency, but many firms fail to convert digital tools into balanced sustainable performance across economic, environmental, and social dimensions. This study examines how logistics ecosystem turbulence and digital logistics agility affect sustainable logistics performance among third-party logistics firms in West Java. It also investigates the mediating roles of platform-enabled horizontal collaboration strategy, customer experience management, and competitive implementation through single and sequential paths. Data were collected via a cross-sectional survey from 312 valid respondents and analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling. Findings indicate that logistics ecosystem turbulence, platform-enabled horizontal collaboration strategy, customer experience management, and competitive implementation significantly and positively influence sustainable logistics performance. Digital logistics agility shows no direct effect. Mediation analysis reveals platform-enabled collaboration as a central link between turbulence/digital agility and sustainable outcomes, while customer experience management and competitive implementation are key mechanisms that turn collaboration into performance gains. Sequential mediation confirms sustainable results arise from interconnected steps: collaboration followed by customer focus and strong execution.
