Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of students’ critical thinking and collaboration skills in science, environment, technology, and society (IPAS) learning. The purpose of this research was to enhance students’ critical thinking and collaboration skills through the implementation of the LAMPION model, which combines Problem-Based Learning (PBL), Group Investigation (GI), and Teams Games Tournament (TGT). The study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the Kemmis & McTaggart model, consisting of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection, conducted over four meetings. The subjects of this research were 10 fifth-grade students of SD Kristen Banjarmasin. Data were collected through student activity observations, skill assessment rubrics, and learning outcome tests. The findings revealed significant improvements in students’ critical thinking and collaboration skills after the implementation of the LAMPION model. Therefore, the LAMPION model is proven effective and can be recommended as an innovative learning strategy for IPAS instruction in elementary schools.

Abstract

Abstract

This conceptual study examines how Islamic philosophy provides a transformative ethical foundation for moral education by synthesizing the key ideas of classical thinkers such as Al-Farabi, Al-Ghazali, and Ibn Miskawayh. In response to the global moral crisis and the limitations of behaviorist approaches in education, the study critically explores four interrelated concepts ʿaql (reason), tazkiyah (moral purification), adab (refined conduct), and hikmah (wisdom) as philosophical frameworks for character formation. Using a qualitative conceptual research design, the study employs library research and thematic content analysis to reinterpret classical Islamic texts and contemporary academic literature. The findings reveal that reason serves as the foundation for ethical judgment and autonomy, moral purification strengthens internal discipline and sincerity, refined conduct represents the external expression of virtue in social life, and wisdom integrates intellectual, ethical, and spiritual maturity. Practically, these principles can guide educators in developing value-based curricula, reflective learning, and ethical role modeling in both Islamic and pluralistic educational contexts. Collectively, the study proposes an Islamic philosophical framework for rehumanizing moral education and bridging the gap between knowledge and virtue in contemporary learning environments.

Abstract

The problem in this research is that students experience difficulties in learning activities, which impacts their low ability to understand reading texts and express thoughts logically, as well as challenges in developing skills. Therefore, learning innovation is needed through a combination of Mind Mapping, Project Based Learning (PjBL), and Cooperative Learning models, aimed at describing teacher activities and analyzing improvements in student activities and psychomotor skills for second-grade students at SDN Pasar Lama 1 Banjarmasin. This research employs a qualitative and quantitative approach using Classroom Action Research (PTK), conducted over four meetings in the 2024/2025 academic year. The research subjects consist of 29 students. Data were collected through observations of teacher activities, student activities, and psychomotor skills, as well as written tests for quantitative data. Data analysis was performed using percentages and predetermined learning completion indicators. The results show that teacher activities in each meeting were carried out in the "Good" criteria and improved to a score of 35. Student activities increased from 14% in the "Good" criteria in the first meeting to 100% in the fourth meeting. Students' psychomotor skills also improved to 100% in the final meeting. Based on these results, the combination of Mind Mapping, Project Based Learning (PJBL), and Cooperative Learning models effectively enhances student activities and psychomotor skills.

Abstract

Hiyung chili is a horticultural commodity with high economic value, but its productivity still fluctuates due to cultivation constraints and dependence on synthetic chemical fertilizers. This activity aims to increase farmer capacity and plant growth of Hiyung chili through the application of liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) based on banana peel waste enriched with Trichoderma sp. The activity was carried out in Sungai Hanyar Village using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach through socialization, training, practice, and field mentoring. Evaluation was carried out using pre-test and post-test methods to measure changes in knowledge, attitudes, and skills of participants. The results showed an increase in farmer capacity from 50% to 84.67% after the activity. Improvements occurred in the understanding of LOF, acceptance of organic fertilizer technology, and technical skills in its manufacture. The application of LOF also showed better plant growth compared to the control. The use of banana peel waste as LOF has the potential to be an environmentally friendly and sustainable fertilizer alternative.

Abstract

Purpose –This study aims to describe how sociodrama-based heroism learning shapes the character of friendship in elementary school students through contextual, participatory, and local history-based learning experiences.Methodology – This study uses a qualitative, phenomenological design. The research subjects included students in grades IV, V, and VI of SDN Sungai Miai 5 Banjarmasin, who served as actors and spectators in the sociodrama, and the class teacher, who served as a supporting informant. Subjects were selected purposively based on students' involvement in learning activities. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and learning documentation. Data analysis was carried out thematically through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and meaning drawing.Findings – The study's results indicate that sociodrama learning shapes students' national character, as reflected in historical awareness, exemplary heroic figures, patriotism, social awareness, responsibility, and nationalistic attitudes. Students' emotional involvement in acting out local historical events encourages the interpretation of heroic values as experiences directly lived and reflected on, not merely understood cognitively.Contribution – This study makes conceptual and practical contributions by confirming that local history-based sociodrama is a relevant learning strategy for strengthening elementary school students' national character through meaningful, contextual learning experiences. These findings broaden understanding of national character education practices and can serve as a reference for teachers in designing more meaningful, contextual, and sustainable history learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to explore students’ subjective experiences in interpreting and managing intimate relationships and their implications for the balance between academic achievement and religiosity. This study employed a qualitative phenomenological approach involving 22 participants selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, and analyzed using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). The findings reveal that intimate relationships are ambivalent in nature. On the one hand, they function as sources of emotional support, academic motivation, and spiritual strengthening. On the other hand, they may lead to psychological stress, academic distraction, and moral conflict. The results indicate that the balance between academic achievement and religiosity is not determined by the presence of the relationship itself, but by self-regulation, emotional maturity, and spiritual awareness. This study contributes to Islamic educational psychology by positioning intimate relationships as an integrative space connecting emotional, academic, and spiritual dimensions.
