Abstract

This study aims to evaluate whether numerical results from IRE exams can accurately reflect students' overall spiritual comprehension. Through both quantitative and qualitative analysis, the study finds that relying solely on test scores is insufficient to assess students’ faith and spiritual insight. Significant differences in learning outcomes between schools suggest that variations in teaching methods and assessment systems contribute to these disparities. Interviews with students and teachers reveal that IRE exams, which tend to emphasize memorization, fall short in uncovering deeper understanding of religious values. In contrast, assessment approaches that are more relevant to everyday life, encourage reflection, utilize narrative methods, and observe student behavior are perceived as more effective. Therefore, an ideal model for assessing Islamic Religious Education should integrate both cognitive evaluation and spiritual reflection through a comprehensive, holistic approach. By combining written assessments with contextual inquiry, personal reflection, and behavioral observation, educators can gain a more accurate and authentic picture of students’ religious understanding. Such a multifaceted evaluation system not only enhances the relevance of PAI but also supports the formation of students who genuinely embody Islamic values in their daily lives.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of gadget use on the social interaction of early childhood and the phenomenon of declining interest in traditional play. A quantitative method with an explanatory research approach was employed. The sampling technique used was probability sampling with a simple random sampling method. Instruments included questionnaires and tests. Data analysis prerequisites were tested using normality (Kolmogorov-Smirnov test) and linearity tests, while hypothesis testing utilized correlation and regression analysis with the assistance of SPSS version 26. The research was conducted at Kober Assa'idiyah, West Bandung Regency, with a population comprising all students and a sample of 20 participants. Results revealed that the data were normally distributed, with Kolmogorov-Smirnov significance values of 0.143 for gadget use and 0.200 for social interaction. Correlation analysis produced a Correlation Coefficient of 0.961, indicating a very strong and significant relationship between gadget use and social interaction. Regression analysis yielded the equation Y=13.506+0.902XY = 13.506 + 0.902XY=13.506+0.902X, meaning an increase of one unit in gadget use correlates with a 0.902 unit increase in social interaction. While gadget use has a significant impact, the study also highlights the importance of managing gadget use to avoid diminishing the quality of social interaction and interest in traditional play. The implications of this research underline the critical role of parents, educators, and policymakers in regulating gadget use to optimally support early childhood social development.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ creative thinking skills in problem-based, ill-structured, open-ended learning through stimulus. This study used learning strategies that simultaneously develop problem-solving strategies and knowledge discipline. This learning can be achieved if educational activities are focused on authentic, contextual, and relevant tasks or problems so that students can gather the necessary information, evaluate alternative solutions, and present solutions they believe in. Moreover, the ability to generate uncommon or extraordinary ideas must be raised from the problems that exist in learning. The ability to think creatively in mathematics in education using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) approach assisted by GeoGebra is expected to be a practical approach to educating students in increasing their intellectual potential and familiarizing them to deal with non-routine problems and applying it in their daily life to become a student who can think creatively. This study used a quasi-experimental research method with a quantitative approach conducted at SMA Negeri 2 Cimalaka. The instruments used in this study were questionnaires and tests. This study's approach, which was integrated with GeoGebra, can be used as an alternative to learning mathematics in schools. It can be developed with other approaches according to problems in mathematics.

Abstract

Madrasah Tsanawiyah Arrukhshatul'ulum an Islamic educational institution in Indonesia is facing an era of digitalization that forces every academic institution to adapt to technological developments. This research aims to explore the extent of the impact of digitalization on the work stress levels of teaching staff at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Arrukhshatul'ulum. This research uses quantitative and qualitative approaches to provide a more comprehensive analysis. The population in this study was all teachers at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Arrukhshatul'ulum, totaling 14 people, namely 10 permanent teachers and 4 contract teachers. The instrument used was a Likert questionnaire to measure work stress by analyzing data using descriptive statistics and interviews. In this research, it can be concluded that digitalization at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Arrukhshatul'ulum has had a significant impact on the welfare of teaching staff, with the majority of teachers (65%) reporting work stress levels in the medium category, which indicates that they are still in the adaptation phase to the demands of digitalization. However, this condition should not be ignored, because without appropriate intervention, stress levels can increase to the high category, as experienced by 20% of respondents. As many as 80% of teachers feel that they do not have sufficient skills to use digital devices, so they face difficulties in carrying out their duties. In addition, 70% of teachers stated that digital-based administrative burdens, such as filling in data via applications or electronic reports, were felt to have added to their work pressure.

Abstract

Youth empowerment in rural areas plays a crucial role in developing the potential and skills of the younger generation to contribute to the progress of society. Lempangang Village, located in Gowa Regency, has great potential to improve the quality of life for its residents, especially the youth, which can be maximized through empowerment programs. One such program designed by the Lempangang Youth Organization (Karang Taruna) to enhance the skills and abilities of the village's youth is the Lempangang English Club (LEC), which aims to improve the youth's English language skills through fun and interactive learning activities. This study aims to analyze the implementation and impact of the LEC program on youth empowerment in Lempangang Village. Using a qualitative approach and case study method, the research gathered data through interviews, observations, and documentation of activities conducted by LEC members. The results show that the LEC program not only enhances the English proficiency of elementary, middle, and high school participants, but also has a positive impact on their self-confidence, social skills, and preparedness for entering the workforce. The program also encourages youth to become more active in social and community activities, thus increasing their role in village development. However, there are challenges faced, such as limited facilities and resources, which need to be addressed to maximize the program’s impact. Therefore, this study recommends strengthening supporting infrastructure, increasing stakeholder involvement, and expanding the program to other villages as part of a broader youth empowerment effort.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the meaning of patterns and symmetry in the Qur’an and the role of mathematics in the context of divinity and aesthetics. Using a qualitative approach with a phenomenological study design, this research involves scholars of Qur’anic interpretation, religious educators, and mathematicians who understand the relationship between mathematics and religion. A total of nine participants were selected through purposive sampling based on specific criteria: (1) academic or professional background in Qur’anic exegesis, religious education, or mathematics, (2) engagement in interdisciplinary discourse between science and religion, and (3) willingness to participate in in-depth interviews. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and textual analysis of the Qur’an using an interpretative approach. The findings indicate that patterns and symmetry in the Qur’an serve as aesthetic elements and representations of the order in God’s creation. Most participants perceive this order as evidence of God’s power in creating the universe with mathematical laws humans can comprehend. However, some perspectives view patterns and symmetry primarily as aesthetic interpretations that enrich the spiritual experience of Muslims. Overall, this study opens opportunities for integrating the understanding of patterns and symmetry in the Qur’an with mathematics education, allowing science and religion to be comprehended as a harmonious unity.

Abstract

The determination of prayer times is an important aspect of Islamic religious practices, typically approached through two methods: the traditional one based on the observation of the sun's position and the modern method using mathematical technology. This study aims to examine the shift in societal perspectives regarding prayer time determination based on Islamic Astronomy and the role of modern mathematical technology in influencing traditional authority. The research uses a qualitative approach with semi-structured interviews and document analysis. The study subjects consist of two groups: those who maintain traditional methods and those who adopt modern mathematical technology, with 40 purposively selected participants. The findings reveal that older generations tend to preserve traditional methods due to emotional and spiritual ties to religious heritage, while younger generations are more accepting of technology as a practical solution. Although technology facilitates the determination of prayer times, some people feel that its use diminishes the spiritual depth of the prayer experience. This study concludes that technology can serve as a supportive tool that enriches religious understanding without replacing the traditional values that exist.

Abstract

This research discusses efforts to utilise technology to accelerate tax collection with a focus on training on the use of the Land and Building Tax (PBB) application for Lempangang Village residents. As part of the effort to increase public awareness and participation in tax payments, the training aims to provide practical knowledge on how to access, fill in, and report PBB obligations using digital applications that have been provided by the local government. By utilising technology, it is expected that the tax payment process will become more efficient, transparent, and easily accessible to the community, thereby contributing to increased local revenue and successful village development. The training involves villagers through a hands-on and interactive approach, and is expected to motivate them to be more active in fulfilling their tax obligations, which is one of the sources of funding for local development.
