Abstract

Abstract

Background. Teachers play a crucial role as facilitators in creating meaningful learning experiences, particularly in thematic learning that integrates multiple subjects. However, previous studies on teacher facilitation tend to focus on general pedagogical practices and lack strong theoretical integration, especially within Islamic educational contexts. Purpose. This study aims to examine Grade 5 teachers’ understanding and implementation of their role as facilitators in thematic learning at an Islamic elementary school, as well as to explore its theoretical contribution to facilitation practices. Method. This research employed a qualitative case study approach conducted at Sabilul Huda Asy’ari Integrated Islamic Elementary School. Data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews with teachers, students, parents, and the school principal, and documentation analysis. Data analysis involved coding, theme generation, and triangulation to ensure the credibility and validity of the findings. Results. The findings reveal that the teacher’s role as a facilitator is multidimensional, encompassing patience, respect, teacher–student relationships, humility, adaptive teaching strategies, structured lesson planning, motivational support, and collaborative learning facilitation. These dimensions operate as an integrated system that supports students’ cognitive, social, emotional, and moral development. The integration of Islamic values was also found to play a significant role in shaping meaningful learning interactions. Conclusion. This study proposes the Islamic Constructivist Facilitation Model, which conceptualizes teacher facilitation as a holistic process integrating constructivist learning, socio-cultural interaction, and value-based education. The findings highlight that effective facilitation extends beyond instructional practices to include relational, motivational, and moral dimensions, offering important implications for developing holistic teaching practices in elementary education.

Abstract

Cultural literacy among elementary school students still needs to be strengthened, as the teaching of cultural diversity in the Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) subject is generally still dominated by verbal delivery of content and has not been supported by interactive learning media that are contextual to local wisdom. This study aims to develop the Monopoli Edukatif Kearifan Lokal Jawa Barat learning medium, and to examine its feasibility, user responses, and effectiveness in improving the cultural literacy of fourth-grade elementary school students. The study used the Design and Development (D&D) Type 1 method by Richey and Klein with a One-Group Pretest–Posttest design. Participants consisted of 24 fourth-grade students and one classroom teacher at SDN Sukamenak 03, while the feasibility of the medium was assessed by a material expert, a media expert, and a language expert. Qualitative data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, and quantitative data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and N-Gain calculation. The results showed that the medium obtained an average validation percentage of 93.53%, categorized as very feasible. Teacher and student responses were also highly positive, at 100% and 94.9% respectively. The Wilcoxon test showed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000), and the N-Gain value of 0.7046 fell into the high category. This improvement was reflected across all cultural literacy indicators, namely cultural awareness, awareness of history and its impact, and tolerance. The Monopoli Edukatif Kearifan Lokal Jawa Barat medium is thus considered feasible, was very well received, and effectively improved the cultural literacy of fourth-grade elementary school students.

Abstract

Arts and Culture and Crafts (SBdP) learning in elementary schools does not only focus on cognitive aspects, but also on developing attitudes and skills. One important attitude that needs to be developed is respecting other people's work. This research aims to analyze and describe the application of a conflict resolution model assisted by patchwork media in increasing attitudes of respect for other people's work in sixth grade elementary school students. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Participants in this research were 16 class VI students at SDN Cangkuang 03, Rancaekek District. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. The results of the research show that the application of the patchwork-assisted conflict resolution model provides students with direct experience in working together and understanding the importance of respecting other people's work. This learning process encourages students to actively participate in group discussions, support each other in creating work, and appreciate the work of their friends. This study provides implications for teachers to adopt arts-based approaches and conflict resolution in SBdP learning. In this way, students not only develop creative skills but also build positive values in their social life.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Mini Market Project, which utilises tubers, in teaching the subject of buying and selling in Year 4 of primary school, as well as examining the use of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3 and SDGs 4 in its implementation. The study used a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The results of the study show that the implementation of the Mini Market Project runs systematically in accordance with the learning plan and involves students actively in every stage of the activity, from production to practical sales. Using tubers as production materials provides a contextual learning experience and promotes awareness of the importance of healthy eating habits as part of the implementation of SDGs 3. Furthermore, the project-based learning approach implemented was able to increase the participation, creativity, and collaboration of the students, thus supporting the realisation of quality education as reflected in SDGs 4. The students' response to the learning process indicates a positive trend, where learning becomes more engaging, enjoyable, and meaningful. Therefore, the implementation of the Mini Market Project based on the utilisation of tubers can be an alternative form of contextual and integrative learning to develop understanding of concepts, as well as forming the skills and attitudes of students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Digital Cartoon-Based Conflict Resolution Learning Model (PRK-CD) on the conflict resolution skills of fourth-grade students at SDN 025 Cikutra Bandung. A quantitative approach was employed using a True Experiment method with a Pretest-Posttest Group Design. The research sample consisted of 25 fourth-grade students selected through Cluster Random Assignment. Data collection utilized a self-rating scale questionnaire measuring 9 dimensions of conflict resolution skills. The results of hypothesis testing using a Paired Sample T-Test proved that there is a highly significant effect of implementing the PRK-CD Model (Sig. value 0.000 < 0.05). Based on the N-Gain analysis, students achieved a score of 0.68, classified in the medium-to-high category. These findings indicate that the PRK-CD Model is effective in improving students’ conflict resolution skills in an urban school environment, particularly through conflict scenarios relevant to students’ daily interactions in dense classrooms.
