Abstract

Deaf students in higher education still face barriers in verbal communication that affect academic participation, social interaction, and self-confidence in various campus situations. This condition indicates the need for communication media that are more adaptive, practical, and easy to use in everyday interactions. This community service program aims to improve the communication skills of deaf students through the use of a “talking bottle” as an interactive communication medium in an inclusive campus environment. The program was implemented using a participatory approach, which included technical training on the use of the device, individual mentoring, communication simulations in real-life situations, and an inclusive communication awareness campaign at Universitas Negeri Surabaya. The results showed an increase in participants’ understanding of how the talking bottle works, the development of basic skills in forming simple utterances, increased confidence to participate in simulations and presentations, and the creation of more supportive interaction spaces through the assistance of facilitators, sign language interpreters, and supporting visual media. The program also demonstrates that strengthening communication skills among deaf students needs to be understood as a process involving technical, psychosocial, and campus social environment aspects. Therefore, the talking bottle can function as a relevant interactive communication medium to support the development of an inclusive campus, especially when accompanied by continuous training, operational modules, and support from the academic community.

Abstract

The treasures of thought and political performance in various countries have come to a common ground regarding this, namely that democracy is the best choice among various other options. Purpose. This study provide a historical description of the long history of democracy in Indonesia, especially during the Old Order era, both in the form of liberal democracy and guided democracy. Thus, this article can make a better contribution to understanding and interpreting the development of democracy in Indonesia. Method. The writing of this article uses a descriptive qualitative method with based on data mining through library research/literature studies from several literature sources. Results. It is clear that in the old order there were two types of democracy, namely liberal and guided democracy. In liberal democracy, people's freedom to participate in politics or political individualism is highly upheld. On the other hand, in a guided democracy, the people have political limitations because power is very centralized in the hands of a president. Conclusion. These forms of democracy must place the voice of the people, the interests of the people above all else so that in managing the country, attention to the people becomes the main thing.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has positioned video games beyond mere entertainment to become a cultural medium with the potential to influence players' social and political perspectives. In this context, video games are seen as relevant as a medium for political socialization because they present interactive narratives, moral choices, and social simulations that allow players to directly experience dilemmas of power, justice, responsibility, and state-citizen relations. This article aims to analyze the potential of video games as a medium for political socialization, examine narrative elements that influence the formation of political awareness, and examine the possibility of integrating the Indonesian socio-cultural context into game narratives. This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature review design through a search of various literature sources. The results indicate that video games can serve as a medium for informal political socialization through participatory experiences, moral reflection, and the immersive internalization of political values. This potential will be further enhanced by incorporating local Indonesian contexts, such as mutual cooperation (gotong royong), diversity, and social justice. This study confirms that video games are worthy of being positioned as an educational-cultural medium that can expand political education models in the digital era.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has given rise to e-commerce as a new form of muamalah activity that is increasingly being used by society, including Muslims. The shift in transaction patterns from conventional to digital has given rise to various legal issues that require serious study from an Islamic legal perspective. This article aims to analyze the phenomenon of e-commerce from an Islamic perspective by examining the legal basis, reasons for permissibility, and the limitations of sharia that regulate it. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a literature study approach, through an analysis of classical and contemporary fiqh literature, books of schools of thought, fatwas of scholars, and academic sources relevant to digital buying and selling practices. The results of the study indicate that e-commerce is essentially permissible in Islam as long as it meets the pillars and requirements for a valid sale and purchase, such as clarity of the object, price, contract, and the willingness of the seller and buyer. Differences in views between schools of thought regarding the technicalities of the contract and the form of the transaction do not change the basic principles of the validity of muamalah as long as it does not contain elements of gharar, usury, and fraud. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of digital muamalah fiqh literacy for Muslims to be able to carry out e-commerce transactions legally, ethically, and responsibly in accordance with sharia values in the digital era.
