Abstract

This study aims to determine the impact of online game interaction on the social- emotional abilities of 5-6 year old children in Surabaya using a quantitative approach and ex post facto method. The respondents in this study were the biological mothers of 5-6 year old children who were considered to have emotional closeness and adequate understanding of their children's social-emotional conditions. Data were collected through questionnaires designed based on the dimensions of online game interaction use and children's social- emotional abilities, then analyzed using simple linear regression with the help of the SPSS program. The results showed that the use of online game interactions had a significant negative impact on the social-emotional abilities of 5-6 year old children in Surabaya, as indicated by a decline in social interaction, cooperation, empathy, and control of children's emotions and behavior. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the higher the intensity of online game interaction usage, the greater the potential for hindering the social- emotional development of early childhood, thus requiring the role of parents and educators in supervising and directing online game usage so that it does not have a negative impact on children's development.

Abstract

Anxiety disorders are a common phenomenon in early childhood that can hinder social and cognitive development. This study aims to analyze the contribution of parental emotional engagement to anxiety in children aged 4-6 years in Tuban Regency. The method used is quantitative causal-associative with a sample of 400 biological parents determined through purposive sampling across 20 sub-districts. Data were collected using Likert scale questionnaires measuring the dimensions of secure base and safe haven, as well as four anxiety dimensions in the Preschool Anxiety Scale-Revised (PAS-R). Data analysis utilized simple linear regression preceded by ex post facto. The results showed a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.419 and a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). The regression equation Y = 67.198 - 0.834X indicates a significant negative relationship, where an increase in parental emotional engagement is followed by a decrease in child anxiety. An R Square value of 0.176 indicates that emotional engagement contributes 17.6% to the variation in child anxiety. These findings emphasize the importance of the parental role as an emotionally responsive figure in creating a sense of security for children. Researchers suggest the need for strengthening parenting literacy based on emotion coaching in both family and early childhood education (PAUD) environments.

Abstract

The expansion of Indonesia’s digital economy has reshaped marketing practices, particularly in e-commerce, where beauty and personal care products are among the fastest-growing segments. Barenbliss Cosmetics, a Korean beauty brand gaining popularity in Indonesia, benefits from platforms such as Tokopedia to engage young, urban consumers. Prior studies confirm that Electronic Word of Mouth (E-WOM), brand image, and price significantly influence purchase decisions; however, limited research has examined how these variables collectively contribute to customer loyalty and sustainable growth in the cosmetics sector. This study addresses this gap by integrating loyalty and sustainable growth as strategic outcomes, offering a novel perspective that links tactical marketing factors to long-term business performance. The objective of this research is to analyze the effects of E-WOM, brand image, and price on purchase decisions and to investigate how these decisions translate into customer loyalty and sustainable growth. A quantitative approach was employed, with data collected through online questionnaires distributed to Tokopedia consumers who have purchased Barenbliss products. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was applied to test both direct and indirect relationships among variables. The results demonstrate that E-WOM, brand image, and price significantly affect purchase decisions, with brand image emerging as the strongest predictor. Furthermore, customer loyalty is found to mediate the relationship between purchase decisions and sustainable growth. The findings highlight that integrating E-WOM, branding, and pricing strategies is essential not only for influencing short-term consumer behavior but also for ensuring sustainable growth in competitive digital marketplaces.

Abstract

Purpose: Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) in adolescents is an escalating mental health problem with underlying biological pathways. Increasing evi- dence highlights the role of inflammatory response and immune dysregulation in its development and progression. This study aims to explore the role of inflammatory biomarkers in Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) among adolescent populations, elucidating their potential utility for more effective treatment strategies. Methods: A systematic review was conducted using Ebsco, PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar databases. Studies published between 2019 and 2025 that focused on adolescent MDD (aged 10-19 years) and inflammation were included. Study quality was evaluated using the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) tool, and narrative analyses were conducted for data synthesis. The PICOS (Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome, and Study Design) framework is used to ensure clarity in defining the research question and inclusion criteria. The systematic review was registered in PROSPERO (CRD420251129403). Results: A total of 29 articles met the inclusion criteria for this study. Across the included studies, elevated levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines, particularly inter- leukin-6 (IL-6) and Tumor Necrosis Factor-Alpha (TNF-α), were consistently associated with MDD in adolescents. Dysregulation of the Hypothalamic- Pituitary-Adrenal (HPA) axis and alterations in anti-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-10 were also observed. These biomarkers were linked to changes in stress hormone regulation. Conclusion: Inflammatory biomarkers play a significant role in the pathophysiology of MDD among adolescents, offering promising avenues for early detection and personalised intervention. Integrating biomarker assessment into clinical practice may improve diag- nosis and guide targeted treatments.

Abstract

This studi examines Khashaa’ish al-Ahkām (characteristics of Islamic law) as the foundation for determining the status and responsibilities of parents toward children in Islamic family law. The method employed is a literature study with a normative qualitative approach, through the analysis of various sources such as the Al-Qur'an, hadith, classical and contemporary fiqh books, and others. The research findings reveal that parental responsibilities include providing sustenance, spiritual, moral, and intellectual education, with the aim of shaping children who are faithful, pious, and possess virtuous character. Islamic law offers flexible and dynamic guidance to fulfill these responsibilities harmoniously between social progress and justice in the family, ensuring comprehensive protection of rights and obligations.

Abstract

Emotional regulation is an essential ability in early childhood that influences children’s social and psychological development. However, this ability is still developing and is highly dependent on parental support. One factor that may affect children’s emotional regulation is parental burnout, a condition of emotional exhaustion caused by prolonged parenting demands. This study aims to examine the effect of maternal parental burnout on the emotional regulation of children aged 4–6 years. This study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The research was conducted in Gresik, with 400 mothers of children aged 4–6 years as participants. Data were collected using questionnaires, including a parental burnout scale (23 items, score range 0–6) and an emotional regulation scale (15 items, score range 1–4). The instruments were developed based on relevant theoretical dimensions. Data analysis was performed using simple linear regression. The results showed that maternal parental burnout has a negative and significant effect on children’s emotional regulation (R = 0.675; R² = 0.456; p < 0.05). This indicates that higher levels of parental burnout are associated with lower emotional regulation in children. Parental burnout contributed 45.6% to the variance in emotional regulation, while 54.4% was influenced by other factors. In conclusion, maternal psychological well-being plays an important role in the development of children’s emotional regulation. It is recommended that parents receive adequate social and psychological support to reduce burnout and optimize children’s emotional development.
