Abstract

Patient safety is a top priority in healthcare and nursing services. A strong patient safety culture plays a crucial role in preventing medical incidents that could endanger patients. The successful implementation of a safety culture in hospitals depends on the perceptions and practices of healthcare workers, particularly nurses. A well-implemented safety culture has positive impacts, such as reducing medical incidents, improving service quality, and increasing patient trust. However, suboptimal or inconsistent implementation may lead to negative effects, such as undetected medical errors, decreased compliance with procedures, and a weakened incident reporting culture. Therefore, continuous evaluation of safety culture implementation is essential. Objective: This study aims to analyze the influence of safety culture on patient safety among nurses at RSUD I. A Moeis Samarinda. This research used a quantitative approach with an analytical survey design. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to nurses at RSUD I. A Moeis Samarinda, with samples selected using a convenience sampling technique. Statistical tests were conducted to identify the relationship between safety culture and patient safety. The study showed a significant relationship between safety culture and patient safety. Based on the Wilcoxon test, the p-value was 0.02 ≤ 0.05, indicating that the null hypothesis was rejected. Additionally, the Cronbach’s alpha value was greater than 0.6 (0.601 > 0.6), suggesting that safety culture has a positive and significant effect on patient safety at RSUD I. A Moeis Samarinda. Hospitals need to enhance nurses’ awareness of the importance of safety culture through training, optimal workload management, and the implementation of more effective safety policies.

Abstract

Harapan Baru is a crab procurement business that serves as a critical link between fishermen and pond farmers. Crabs, as the primary commodity, are subject to significant price fluctuations and quality variations. This study aims to evaluate the economic viability of Harapan Baru's operations by analyzing costs, revenue, and profitability. Employing a critical incident technique, the research found that the First-In-First-Out (FIFO) inventory management method and Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) model significantly enhance operational efficiency. By ensuring timely inventory turnover and optimizing order quantities, these methods mitigate risks associated with demand variability, climate change, and operational challenges. Moreover, the study underscores the essential role of mangrove ecosystems in sustaining crab populations and the economic benefits derived from this natural resource. The integration of technology and SWOT analysis highlights the potential for Harapan Baru to enhance its competitive advantage and contribute to the long-term sustainability of the fisheries industry.

Abstract

The fundamental differences in the concept of happiness between John Stuart Mill and Al-Ghazali arise from distinct social, cultural, and philosophical contexts, raising questions about comparison and a holistic understanding of happiness as the ultimate goal of human life. This study aims to analyze and compare their concepts of happiness, in which Mill emphasizes utilitarianism oriented toward general happiness and the quality of individual pleasures, while Al-Ghazali focuses on spiritual and moral dimensions. The research method is a literature study with a comparative approach, utilizing primary and secondary sources such as Mill’s Utilitarianism and Al-Ghazali’s Ihya’ Ulum al-Din. The analysis is conducted by comparing their concepts of happiness, their implications for human life, and the socio-cultural contexts in which they emerged. The findings indicate a shared agreement that happiness constitutes the ultimate end of human life, despite differing approaches: Mill prioritizes individual freedom and the quality of happiness, whereas Al-Ghazali emphasizes spirituality and morality. The study recommends integrating utilitarian and spiritual perspectives to offer a holistic solution to the pursuit of happiness in modern society.
