Abstract

This article aims to analyze M. Quraish Shihab's views on the concept of nasikh-mansukh in the Quran and its implications for tafseer. The research was carried out using a literature review method on the works of M. Quraish Shihab related to the theme being studied. The results show that M. Quraish Shihab takes a compromise-reconciliatory attitude regarding two opinions that support and reject nasikh-mansukh in the Qur'an. It was carried out by reconstructing the meaning of nasikh-mansukh. For him, nasikh-mansukh does not mean erasing or canceling the law of the previous verse with the verse that follows, but changing the law according to the context without canceling the laws in each verse. This view has implications for his interpretation: first, all verses are still valid, or, in other words, no legal content in the Quran has been deleted; second, the discussion of the verses that Mansukh considered was moreless; Third, in the interpretation of the verse assessed by mansukh, the two opinions, both supporting and opposing, are explained without carrying out tarjih.

Abstract

This study analyzes the form of da’wah innovation and its impact in the Sharing Time study titled “The Secret to Changing Destiny: Soulmate, Fortune, and Success.” The research is driven by the limited number of contemporary da’wah studies that explore humanist and contextual approaches in conveying religious messages in the digital era. Using a qualitative descriptive case study and supported by literature review, data were collected through observation and documentation, including articles, journals, and books as secondary sources. The findings reveal that Ustadz Hanan Attaki’s da’wah innovation goes beyond sharia and aqidah by delivering messages centered on truth, peace, and appreciation of differences. His communication style is both emotional and engaging, allowing him to connect with a diverse audience effectively. This approach represents a contextual, inclusive, and reflective model of da’wah suited to today’s digital society. The da’wah messages align with Abdul Basit's theory in Filsafat Dakwah, which emphasizes the elements of truth, peace, and respect for diversity. The study concludes that the Sharing Time content positively influences audiences by fostering acceptance and deeper understanding of Islamic values delivered in a relatable and reflective manner.

Abstract

English as a foreign language (EFL) writing is one of the most important skills besides speaking for candidate teachers in the undergraduate English programs at higher institutions. The current study hypothesizes that pair-reviews or collaboration in the teaching and learning process of paragraph writing contributes to students successful language development. The subject of the study was a class (N=28) of third-semester students majoring in English language teaching at the Faculty of Islamic Education and Teacher Training of Universitas Islam Negeri Imam Bonjol in Padang, Indonesia. The students writing skills were developed through exposure to actual writing by introducing paragraph developments. Through the process of planning and writing, they were guided to the use of pair-reviews. After a training period, they were tested for the final exam, in which no review was allowed. The study found that students writing competence as the result of pair-reviews varied depending on the type of paragraphs being developed. The students average score was 73.5 in the illustration type, 78.28 in the comparison type, and 71.96 in the categorization type. In general, students average scores during this pair-review were 74.58. In the post-test, students average score was 79.3, indicating that pair-reviews significantly affect their writing competence. A conclusion was drawn regarding the influence of pair-reviews on their final writing product (post activity). The study further elaborates on the activities during pair-reviews, roles, and the practice of collaboration in Minangkabau culture and traditions in Padang.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop and evaluate an empowerment model for pregnant women using "Isi Piringku" ("My Plate") nutrition education to prevent stunting and improve nutritional outcomes. A longitudinal study involving 2,053 pregnant women in South Kalimantan demonstrated that the "Isi Piringku" intervention positively improved maternal nutritional status and reduced childhood stunting prevalence. Key findings included: 99.27% of participants completed ≥4 antenatal care (ANC) visits, 99.22% delivered at healthcare facilities, and 88.11% adhered to iron-folic acid supplementation. Exclusive breastfeeding at six months was reported in 75.06% of cases. Stunting prevalence in Banjarmasin remained below national targets (8.44% in 2019; 9.55% in 2022). The "Isi Piringku" model proved effective for stunting prevention, offering a framework for designing nutritional interventions and raising awareness among pregnant women and communities. Further research is needed to assess the model’s applicability across diverse regions and cultural contexts. These findings may inform stunting prevention programs in other areas.

Abstract

Stunting remains a critical public health issue with long-term effects on children's physical and cognitive development. Although the 2024 Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey (SSGI) reported a national stunting prevalence decline to 19.8%, disparities persist, notably in South Kalimantan at 22.9%, surpassing the WHO threshold. Nutritional education for pregnant women through the "My Plate" ("Isi Piringku") initiative is considered a strategic intervention, yet its effectiveness has not been comprehensively reviewed. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of "My Plate"-based nutritional education in preventing stunting and improving nutritional outcomes across the life cycle. A Systematic Literature Review was conducted using the PRISMA method, sourcing articles from PubMed, ScienceDirect, DOAJ, and Google Scholar. Inclusion criteria included peer-reviewed articles published between 2015 and 2025 with relevant topics. Data were analyzed using a narrative-thematic synthesis. Most studies employed quantitative experimental or quasi-experimental designs. Nutritional education emerged as the predominant intervention (62.5%), surpassing supplementation and other nutrition-sensitive strategies. "My Plate" education demonstrated positive effects on pregnant women’s nutritional knowledge, attitudes, and practices, and contributed to lowering stunting risk. Key challenges identified included low nutritional literacy, limited food access, and economic constraints. Involvement of husbands and families enhanced behavioral change in dietary practices. In conclusion, "My Plate"-based nutritional education effectively empowers pregnant women to prevent stunting, aligning with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 2 (Zero Hunger) and 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by improving maternal and child nutrition and supporting sustainable health outcomes.

Abstract

This research explores the phases of the spiritual journey in Suluk Linglung, a work by Sunan Kalijaga, through a semiotic analysis. Suluk Linglung is a piece of literature that contains the teachings of Sufism, characterized by Javanese elements. This Suluk reports the spiritual journey of a highly revered Javanese saint, Kanjeng Sunan Kalijaga. The term 'linglung' in the Javanese vocabulary implies confusion, indecision, or a condition full of doubt. It represents a dilemma, indicating existential confusion. There are phases in the spiritual journey that are laden with symbols and can be interpreted from a Sufism perspective. Hence, this Suluk becomes intriguing to study using semiotic methods. The study results reveal five phases of the spiritual journey, which are abundant in meaning: First, the meeting with Sunan Bonang. Second, Ascetic Practice on the Riverbank. Third, Laku Ngidang. Fourth, Hajj Pilgrimage to Mecca. Fifth, Meeting with Prophet Khidr. Contribution: Discovering the style and phase of Sunan Kalijaga's spiritual journey. The language used in Suluk Linglung is a language full of symbols. With semiotics, we can do a deeper ‘interpretation’. That Sunan Kalijaga's practice was not merely a physical practice, but also an inner practice that was expressed using a deep and poetic literary language.
