Abstract

Background Corporate governance has become increasingly critical in the wake of financial scandals and corporate collapses that have shaken global markets. As stakeholders demand greater transparency and accountability, the relationship between governance mechanisms, financial reporting quality, and investor confidence has garnered significant attention. Effective governance practices are essential to ensure accurate financial disclosures, maintain market stability, and foster trust among investors. Aims This study aims to explore the influence of corporate governance attributes—such as board independence, audit committee effectiveness, and CEO duality—on the quality of financial reporting and investor confidence. The research seeks to identify key governance practices that enhance transparency, reduce financial misstatements, and build sustainable investor trust across diverse regulatory and cultural environments. Research Method The study employs a mixed-methods approach, integrating quantitative and qualitative analyses. Quantitative data was collected from the financial and governance disclosures of 200 publicly listed companies across multiple industries between 2010 and 2020. Regression models were used to analyze the relationship between governance attributes and financial reporting quality. Qualitative data, derived from interviews with governance experts and financial analysts, was employed to contextualize the quantitative findings and provide deeper insights into governance practices. Results and Conclusion The findings reveal that robust corporate governance frameworks significantly improve financial reporting quality and enhance investor confidence. Board independence, frequent audit committee meetings, and the separation of CEO and chairman roles are identified as critical factors in reducing financial misstatements and fostering transparency. Comparative analysis highlights regional disparities in governance effectiveness, emphasizing the need for tailored governance reforms. Overall, the study underscores the importance of governance as a cornerstone of financial market stability and investor trust. Contribution This research contributes to the growing body of knowledge on corporate governance by providing empirical evidence on the governance-reporting-investor nexus. It offers actionable recommendations for policymakers, regulators, and companies to strengthen governance practices and promote financial transparency.

Abstract

Objective: This study is to evaluate the influence of lecturers' personal branding and community conversations on the attractiveness of the Entrepreneurship Study Program and the reputation of Pelita Bangsa University. Method: The sample surveyed was 150 students of the Pelita Bangsa University Entrepreneurship Study Program. With the help of the SmartPLS program, research data were collected from filling out questionnaires and analyzed quantitatively using the SEM PLS analysis technique. Results: This study shows that (1) Personal branding of lecturers has a significant effect on the attractiveness of study programs, (2) positive WOM increases the attractiveness of study programs, (3) Personal branding of lecturers does not have a significant direct effect on university reputation, (4) WOM has a significant effect on university reputation, (5) The attractiveness of study programs functions as a mediator that connects personal branding of lecturers and WOM with university reputation. Novelty: This study creates an integrative model that links lecturer personal branding, word of mouth (WOM), study program attractiveness, and university reputation. Unlike previous studies that addressed each of these factors separately, this study emphasizes that lecturer image and WOM do not directly improve university reputation. In addition, this study incorporates the concept of academic marketing into higher education, which was previously used more in business studies. This opens new eyes.

Abstract

Objective: The Free Nutritious Meal Program (Program Makan Bergizi Gratis/MBG) is a strategic initiative by the Indonesian government aimed at enhancing the nutrition of school-age children, with application monitoring playing a key role in its effectiveness. This study assesses the success of the MBG implementation by empirically examining the impact of system quality, human resource (HR) training effectiveness, and strategic leadership support on system adoption and net benefits. Using the DeLone & McLean Information System Success Model (2003) as a theoretical framework. Metode: survey was conducted among MBG application users, including field officers and supervisors. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire measuring system quality, training effectiveness (based on Kirkpatrick’s reaction, learning, and behavior levels), leadership support, system use, user satisfaction, and net benefits. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was employed for data analysis. Result: The results indicate that strategic leadership support significantly affects system use, while training effectiveness positively influences net benefits. Novelty: The study’s novelty lies in integrating strategic management and user adoption perspectives within public sector digital initiatives in developing countries.

Abstract

Brand image remains pivotal in contemporary marketing discourse, particularly within niche industries. This study advances brand theory by empirically examining how product attributes, pricing strategies, service quality, and social media engagement collectively shape the brand image of refill perfumes through customer experience mediation. Employing Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) via SmartPLS, data from 332 refill perfume customers across five cities in West Java, Indonesia were analyzed using cluster sampling. Findings indicate that all examined factors significantly enhance brand image, with customer experience acting as a crucial mediator. Practically, this suggests that refill perfume businesses can strategically leverage product quality, competitive pricing, superior service, and dynamic social media presence to cultivate a robust brand identity.

Abstract

To achieve MSME innovation and performance, leadership is crucial. Burns's divided leadership into transformational and transactional styles is one of the key theories of leadership. The purpose of this essay is to pinpoint the best leadership philosophies for enhancing SME organizational performance. This study included a methodical review of the literature. According to the study's findings, transformational leadership is thought to enhance organizational performance in SMEs. Contrarily, there is little evidence that the transactional leadership style improves organizational performance in SMEs. In conclusion, transformational leadership is more crucial than transactional leadership for enhancing MSME performance. These findings help MSME executives develop transformational leadership, which is focused on the charisma of the leader.

Abstract

Rapid changes in the educational environment require schools to have adaptive and visionary leadership strategies. Competition between educational institutions and increasing public expectations for service quality add to the complexity of the challenges of managing educational institutions. In this context, the strategic role of school executives becomes crucial as the determinant of direction and the main driver of institutional transformation. This study aims to analyze how school executives design and implement strategies in building competitive advantages amidst the ever-evolving dynamics. This study uses a qualitative approach by relying on data from various relevant sources, such as previous research and institutional strategic documents. The data obtained are analyzed interpretively to reveal patterns and tendencies in strategic leadership practices in schools. The results of the study indicate that school executives have a central role in determining the direction of policies and program priorities that impact the quality and competitiveness of institutions. Success in building competitiveness is greatly influenced by the leadership's ability to respond to change, manage resources, and involve stakeholders. Although there are various challenges in implementing strategies, consistent and reflective leadership can maintain the continuity of planning and implementation on an ongoing basis.

Abstract

This study aims to provide an in-depth analysis of the influence of collaborative strategy, co-innovation, and empowering government on regional performance in poverty alleviation in West Java. Addressing empirical, theoretical, and research gaps, the study seeks to bridge existing literature by examining these relationships in a context where prior research is limited. Employing a descriptive and verification design with a quantitative approach, data is collected through questionnaires distributed to the Poverty Alleviation Coordination Teams (TKPKD) across 27 regencies and cities in West Java. The study utilizes non-random quota sampling and processes the data using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to ex-plore both direct and mediated effects among the variables. The anticipated results suggest that collaborative strategy positively influences re-gional poverty alleviation performance, both directly and indirectly through the me-diating roles of co-innovation and empowering government. Additionally, the study expects to reveal that geopolitical factors, government policies, and bureaucratic leadership significantly shape the implementation of collaborative strategies in the region. This research makes a novel contribution by addressing a significant empirical gap in the study of collaborative strategies in poverty alleviation within West Java.

Abstract

Universities remain underutilized in addressing pressing issues of poverty, unemployment, and inequality. This study aims to develop a structured framework that integrates social entrepreneurship and Islamic philanthropy into academic moral responsibility. Using a qualitative method, the research combines Critical Literature Review (CLR) and Soft Systems Methodology (SSM) through a case study of the Islamic Philanthropreneurship Lab (LKSFI). Findings reveal two key outcomes: (1) a theoretical-philosophical foundation for embedding social entrepreneurship and philanthropy in higher education, and (2) a redesigned Business Model Canvas adapted for university-based philanthropic ventures. This framework offers a strategic tool to enhance universities' social missions and institutional alignment.
