Abstract

This study aims to synthesize thin film of polyaniline-nickel oxide (PANI-NiO) as an electrode in capacitive deionization (CDI) technology. Thin film PANI-NiO were synthesized by electrodeposition method with different applied potentials. The FTIR spectrum and XRD pattern confirmed that PANI-NiO has been successfully synthesized. Based on the SEM-EDX data, PANI-NiO has a tightly stacked granular morphology, which consist of Fe, Cr, S, Ni, O, and C elements. Based on experimental results, the highest capacitance come from PANI-NiO 1.25 V with a value of 475.24 F/g. PANI-NiO 1.25 V also has a small resistance, which is 13.55 Ω. Salt reduction efficiency test for PANI-NiO 1.25 V also shows the highest salt reduction efficiency compared to other electrodes. Owing to its high capacitance, low charge transfer resistance, and high salt reduction capacity, the PANI-NiO prepared at 1.25 V might be a potential material to be developed for the electrolyte deionization application.

Abstract

In this study, polyaniline was successfully synthesized using an oxidative polymerization method at room temperature. The polymerizations were carried out with and without stirring process under ultraviolet (UV) irradiation. The polyaniline was characterized by FTIR, XRD, SEM, SAA, and Four Point Probe. It is found that UV irradiation and stirring could increase the surface area and conductivity of polyaniline. The surface area obtained for stirred and unstirred polymerization were 37.9 m2/g and 29.0 m2/g, respectively. Moreover, conductivity values for stirred and unstirred polymerization were found as 1.22 S/cm and 1.08 S/cm respectively. This result shows that polyaniline synthesized by stirring treatment obtained uniform morphology, smaller size, greater crystallinity, higher BET surface area, and higher conductivity than that that of without stirring.

Abstract

Discipline and independence are qualities that children should have. These characters will be very useful to support children's learning progress. This, of course, must be supported by parents, who are the main support system for children. However, their roles will be very different and become an exception for parents with blind disabilities. This study aims to find out how the role of blind parents develops the character traits of discipline and independence in their children. This study uses a qualitative narrative method. This research was conducted in a family with the characteristics of parents who are blind disabilities, and children who are without blind disabilities. This research was conducted in 2021 in one of the sub-districts in the city of Padang. Data collection techniques include interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the study show that the character of discipline can be exercised by establishing disciplinary behavior in children by setting their bedtimes well and then giving clear and consistent rules. Meanwhile, independent character can be used to familiarize children with daily activities such as bathing, eating, dressing, washing, praying, and doing schoolwork.

Abstract

Toners can prevent residue and sebum from absorbing into facial pores which can cause various kinds of skin problems such as acne. Jasmine flowers contain ingredients that can inhibit Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria and Shigella flexneri bacteria at a concentration of 10%, which are bacteria that cause acne. Objective to analyzing the effect of varying concentrations of surfactants on the stability of anti-acne toner preparations of jasmine flower extract and identifying the optimal formulation based on the evaluation results of anti-acne toner preparations of jasmine flower extract. Methods the laboratory experiment used a quasy-experimental method without a control group with a one-group posttest only design. Jasmine flower extract was formulated in 2 formulas with variations in polysorbate 20 concentration of 5% and 5.65%, then a stability test was carried out using the cycling test method for 12 days for 6 cycles by evaluating before and after stability testing, including organoleptic, homogeneity, viscosity, and pH. The results showed that toner preparations of jasmine flower extract (Jasminum sambac L) with various surfactant concentrations showed differences in organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, and viscosity. The pH test is not stable (p 0,000). Test viscosity formula I (p 0.081) stable, formula II (p 0.400). Conclusion from the two formulas in the manufacture of toner preparations of jasmine flower extract with variations in surfactant concentration from the results of all cycles in the cycling test, the evaluation results were physically stable but chemically unstable so that there was no optimal formula.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the interaction between multiple inoculations of Arbuscular Mycorrhizae and non-symbiotic N-fixing bacteria Azosprrillum at different urea fertilizer dosages on physiological processes and N, P uptake in peat soils. The study used a factorial design of 4x4 completely randomized layout with 3 replications. The first factor is the inoculation of Arbuscular Mycorrhizae and Azospirillum lipoferum (M) consisting of 4 levels, namely m0 (without inoculation), m1 (Arbuscular mycorrhiza inoculation), m2 (Azospirillum lipoferum inoculation) and m3 (inoculation with Arbuscular Mycorrhiza and Azospirillum. lipoferum). The second factor is the dose of urea with 4 levels, namely n0 (without urea fertilizer), n1 (urea urea recommended dose), n2 (½ recommended dose) and n3 (recommended dose). The dose of urea for maize is 150 kg ha-1. The data obtained were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance (F test), if the F test showed a significant difference between each treatment and interaction, it was followed by Duncan's multiple distance test at the 5% level. Observations were made on N and P uptake, Net Assimilation Rate (LAB) and relative growth rate (LPN). The results showed that the double inoculation of Arbuscular Mycorrhizae and Azospirillum lipoferum was effective at all doses of urea in increasing nutrient uptake of N and P.
