Abstract

High Speed Steel (HSS) tool is commonly used in engineering applications, especially as cutters. The shortfall of this materials are wear and corrosion. However, these can be reduced by coating the surface of the material. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to investigate the effects of Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) coating, quenching heating treatment, and tempering on the physical and mechanical properties of HSS surface. The physical characteristics which will be investigated is the micro structure, while the mechanical characteristics are hardness, wear and corrosion rate. HSS has variations in their chemical composition (% mass): 0.75–1.5 C, Co >12, V > 5, 4–4.5 Cr,10–20 W and Mo. Furthermore, DLC coating uses Plasma Assisted Chemical Vapor Deposition (PACVD) technique with variation in the duration of coating (1,2,3,4,5 and 6 hours) at temperature of 300℃, with pressure variations of 1.0, 1.2, 1.4, 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 millibar. DLC coating material be treated from methane or ethane gas, which is streamed into the fire with Argon (Ar). The result shows variations in DLC coating and the hardness grade depends on the coating time and pressure variation. DLC coating for a duration of 4 hours under 1.8 mbar pressure can reduce the surface hardness of HSS tool by 62% accompanied by increased ductility.

Abstract

This study discusses the numerical study of two-dimensional analysis of flow through circular cylinders. The original physical information entered in the equation governing most of the modeling is transferred into a numerical solution. Fluid flow on two-dimensional circular cylinder wall using high Reynolds k-ε modeling (Re = 106), Here we will do 3 modeling first oder upwind, second order upwind and third order MUSCL by using k-ε standard. The general procedure for this research is formulated in detail for allocations in the dynamic analysis of fluid computing. The results of this study suggest that MUSCL's third order modeling gives more accurate results better than other models.

Abstract

The number of motorcycles circulating on Indonesian roads in 2018 reached 111,470,878 units. With this amount of traffic on the highway becomes congested and potentially high accidents. One of the factors causing the accident is the motorcycle rider's negligence in using turn signal and brake lights. This study aims to make a tool that works automatically to control the active and inactive brake lights and turn signal on a motorcycle. This tool was successfully developed and implemented using an arduino microcontroller and controller information was taken from the Throttle Position Sensor, Speed sensor, turn signal and brake light control switches. Jumlah sepeda motor yang beredar di jalan raya Indonesia pada 2018 mencapai 111.470.878 unit. Dengan jumlah ini lalu lintas di jalan raya menjadi padat dan rawan akan kecelakaan. Salah satu faktor penyebab kecelakaan adalah kelalaian pengendara sepeda motor dalam menggunakan lampu sein dan lampu rem. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat sebuah alat yang bekerja secara otomatis untuk mengatur hidup dan matinya lampu rem dan lampu sein pada sepeda motor. Alat ini berhasil dikembangkan dan diimplementasikan dengan menggunakan mikrokontroler arduino dan informasi dari sensor seperti Throttle Position Sensor, Speed sensor, saklar lampu sein dan rem.

Abstract

This research examines the effect of installing a Turbo Cyclone on a 4 stroke gasoline engine on fuel consumption and exhaust emissions. This research is a quantitative study using experimental research methods. The 4 stroke petrol engine used is the Yamaha Jupiter MX 135 cc. The data were processed in several stages of analysis using the mean formula, fuel consumption, the percentage formula, and comparing the results of data analysis from each treatment. From the results of data analysis, it was found that the installation of the Turbo Cyclone had an effect on fuel consumption and exhaust emissions from the 4 stroke engine. The best effect is obtained from the installation of the Turbo Cyclone after the carburetor, fuel consumption shows a decrease of up to 8%, exhaust emissions show a decrease in HC levels by 9% and an increase in CO2 levels by 1%. Penelitian ini mambahas pengaruh pemasangan Turbo Cyclone pada mesin bensin 4 Tak terhadap konsumsi bahan bakar dan emisi gas buang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian eksperimen. Mesin bensin 4 Tak yang digunakan adalah Yamaha Jupiter MX 135 cc. Data diolah dengan beberapa tahapan analisis menggunakan rumus mean, konsumsi bahan bakar, rumus persentase, dan membandingkan hasil analisis data dari masing-masing perlakuan. Dari hasil analisis data didapatkan adanya pengaruh dari pemasangan Turbo Cyclone terhadap konsumsi bahan bakar dan emisi gas buang dari mesin 4 Tak tersebut. Pengaruh yang paling baik didapat dari pemasangan Turbo Cyclone setelah karburator, konsumsi bahan bakar menunjukkan penurunan mencapai 8%, emisi gas buang menunjukkan penurunaan kadar HC sebesar 9% dan peningkatan kadar CO2 sebesar 1%.

Abstract

Brushless DC Motor is used frequently in industrial applications, because this type of motor has high efficiency and does not cause sparks. However, the speed control of this motor generally has a slow response to the set point and the speed is not constant when given different loads. Therefore, it is essential to design sophisticated speed control system for this motor to improve the constant speed and speed response. In this paper, fuzzy logic method for speed control system is used to give the decision of how much voltage will be added to the motor to get to the desired speed set point value, and how much voltage will be reduced if the speed of the motor passes through the speed set point. brushless dc motor speed is set with input voltage to the motor taking into account speed error and delta speed error using Fuzzy Logic, so that when the speed of the motor almost reaches the set point the input voltage to the motor is reduced so as not to overshoot until the speed of the motor reaches the set point. The results of this study gave a better response than not using fuzzy logic methods. Where at set point 270 gets response time to set point (Tr) faster 0.0002 seconds from 0.0046 seconds to 0.0044, the time to steady state (Ts) is faster 0.025 seconds from 0.04 seconds to 0.015 seconds, the maximum pass percentage (Mp) is reduced from 75% to 20%, and error speed from 1.5% to 0%. And for a trial load at t=0.025 seconds in set point 270 with a load of 4Nm responds to the set point back for 0.014 seconds.

Abstract

Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan bertujuan untuk mampu menyiapkan peserta didik yang kreatif, menguasai ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi, serta memiliki kompetensi yang sesuai dengan tuntutan dunia kerja. Kualitas lulusan SMK tidak hanya ditentukan oleh faktor individu dari siswa itu sendiri, akan tetapi juga sangat ditentukan oleh faktor dari luar, salah satunya komptensi pendidikan yang bisa menyiapkan lulusan sesuai dengan tuntutan dunia kerja. Program Kemitraan bagi Masyarakat (PKM) bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan  Peningkatan Kompetensi Kejuruan Teknologi Motor Diesel bagi Guru dan Siswa  SMK di kabupaten Solok, kegiatan PKM  dengan tema Peningkatan Kompetensi Kejuruan Teknologi Motor Diesel bagi Guru dan Siswa SMK, dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta pelatihan sebesar  15,45 % dibidang kompetensi kejuran Teknologi Motor Diesel.

Abstract

Rendahnya kreativitas dan kedisiplinan siswa dapat berdampak pada kurang efektifnya pelaksanaan pembelajaran, sehingga perlu dianalisis pengaruh kreativitas dan kedisiplinan terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kontribusi kreativitas dan disiplin belajar terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Sasis Dan Pemindah Tenaga Kendaraan Ringan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah korelasi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI dan XII yang berjumlah 55 orang dan diambil 30 orang untuk dijadikan sampel. Metode pengumpulan data didalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan memberikan instrumen tes berupa angket kreativitas dan kedisiplinan kepada siswa. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis data statistik kuantitatif. Hasil analisis uji coba penelitian validitas dan reliabelitas mendapatkan 8 butir pernyataan yang tidak valid pada variabel kreativitas belajar (X1) dan pengujian reliabilitas mendapatkan hasil reliability statistics sebesar 0,894. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah instrumen kontribusi kreativitas dan disiplin belajar terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Sasis dan Pemindah Tenaga Kendaraan Ringan dinyatakan valid dan reliabel. Implikasi penelitian ini adalah mendapatkan output seberapa besar persentasi kontribusi kreativitas dan disiplin belajar terhadap hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

Kurangnya minat siswa dalam belajar membuat hasil belajar siswa dibawah rata-rata nilai ketuntasan minimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan sikap belajardan kebiasaan belajar dengan hasil belajar mata pelajaran Teknologi Dasar Otomotif (TDO) Kelas X TAB. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif melalui pendekatan korelasional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X berjumlah 36 orang siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data pada penelitian ini adalah angket. Teknik yang digunakan untuk menganalisis data yaitu uji normalitas, reliabilitas, dan uji prasyarat data. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan sikap belajar dengan hasil belajar TDO siswa kelas X TAB berada pada kategori kuat. Kontribusi sikap belajar terhadap hasil belajar TDO siswa kelas X TABK sebesar 56,1%. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan kebiasaan belajar dengan hasil belajar TDO siswa kelas X TAB berada pada kategori kuat. Kontribusi kebiasaan belajar terhadap hasil belajar TDO siswa sebesar 32,4%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa kebiasaan belajar dengan hasil belajar berpengaruh pada hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

Learning requires support from a reliable media, one of which can be a learning module. Based on several previous studies regarding the module, there are still some shortcomings from the module under study. So that further development of the given module is needed by adding the contents of the module using the project. This study aims to examine the development of heavy equipment technology modules including validity tests, practicality tests and project-based effectiveness tests. This research is included in Research and Development (R&D) research. The model used in this study uses the ADDIE principle, the data collection method is through questionnaires and learning outcomes tests, the data analysis is processed using a quantitative approach and described through a qualitative approach to conclude the research results, the research subjects consist of lecturers and students. The results of the research conducted on the development of PjBl-based modules meet the feasibility, in terms of aspects of validity, practicality and effectiveness. The results of the analysis of the validity aspect are 89.07% very valid criteria, the average practicality aspect is 87.92% very practical criteria. The effectiveness aspect is seen from the knowledge test and project test. The test results on 30 students have an average score of 86.67% in the good category and in the field of skills (projects) of 86.67% very high criteria. The conclusion is that the development of PjBL-based modules is able to attract attention and make students understand the material and be able to work together in groups.

Abstract

Abstrak Tujuan penelitian untuk menguji validitas, reliabilitas, indeks kesukaran, dan daya beda soal tes untuk mahasiswa. Populasi penelitian adalah mahasiswa jurusan Teknik Otomotif UNP sebanyak 28 orang. Sampel penelitian dipilih dengan teknik total sampling sehingga keseluruhan populasi menjadi sampel penelitian. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan dokumentasi yaitu berupa pemberian dan pengumpulan soal tes; kunci jawaban; dan lembar jawaban soal tes. Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil analisis data menghasilkan tingkat validitas, reliabilitas, indeks kesukaran, dan daya beda soal tes. Hasil analisis data yaitu soal tes kategori valid, indeks reliabilitas soal pada kriteria reliabilitas tinggi, indeks kesukaran dengan kategori butir soal baik/layak, dan daya pembeda butir soal termasuk klasifikasi soal yang baik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, maka disimpulkan bahwa soal tes yang diberikan kepada mahasiswa layak untuk digunakan sebagai salah satu tes untuk mengukur kemampuan kognitif mahasiswa. AbstractThe purpose of the research was to see the level of validity, reliability, index of difficulty, and differentiating power of student test questions. The research population were 28 students majoring in Automotive Engineering of UNP. The research sample was selected using a total sampling technique, so that the entire population became the research sample. Data collection techniques used documentation in the form of giving and collecting test questions; answer key; and the answer sheet for the test. Data analysis used quantitative descriptive analysis techniques. The results of data analysis will produce levels of validity, reliability, index of difficulty, and differentiating power of test questions. The results of the data analysis concluded that the test items were in the valid category, the reliability index of the questions on the criteria of high reliability, the difficulty index with the category of good/decent items, and the discriminating power of the items including the good classification of questions. Based on the results of the research, it was concluded that the test questions given to students deserved to be used as a test to measure students' cognitive abilities.
