Abstract

Rapid social change in the contemporary era poses serious challenges to the strengthening of students’ character education, particularly in relation to discipline, self-control, perseverance, and moral responsibility. As a traditional Islamic educational institution, pesantren hold strategic potential to address these challenges through education grounded in lived traditions. This study aims to examine the relevance of kanuragan practices in strengthening character education among students at Pondok Pesantren Lirboyo Kediri. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. Data analysis was conducted interactively with an emphasis on source and method triangulation. The findings indicate that kanuragan functions as a form of character education rooted in social praxis rather than merely as a physical or extracurricular activity. Values such as discipline, self-regulation, perseverance, responsibility, and ethical courage are internalized through structured training, authority relations based on moral exemplarity, and collective habituation within the pesantren’s daily life. A theory-driven discussion drawing on critical theory and Islamic educational perspectives demonstrates that kanuragan operates as an emancipatory educational space aligned with the principles of tarbiyah, adab, and habituation in the pesantren tradition. This study concludes that kanuragan possesses strong pedagogical as well as normative-theological relevance as a praxis-based model of contemporary Islamic character education grounded in students’ lived experience.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) and Natural Sciences (IPA) within the framework of holistic Islamic education and its implications for strengthening students’ religious commitment at the senior high school level. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach conducted at SMA Primaganda Jombang. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis, and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and verification with triangulation techniques. The findings reveal that knowledge integration is implemented through institution-based religious vision, pedagogical designs linking scientific concepts with tawhidic values, and reflective learning practices that position science as a medium for internalizing spiritual awareness. This integration contributes to strengthening students’ belief, religious practice, religious knowledge, and moral consequences. The study concludes that integrating PAI and IPA within a holistic Islamic education framework not only overcomes the dichotomy of knowledge but also fosters rational and sustainable religious consciousness.

Abstract

This study examines Qanun Asasi of KH. Hasyim Asy’ari as the epistemological framework of Aswaja (Ahlussunnah wal Jama’ah) cadre formation within Nahdlatul Ulama. Unlike previous studies that position Qanun Asasi merely as a historical or organizational document, this research conceptualizes it as an integrated architecture of knowledge shaping the cadre system. Employing a textual-historical analysis of the official edition of Qanun Asasi Nahdlatul Ulama and engaging Islamic epistemology and critical theory perspectives, the findings reveal that the triadic structure of aqidah–fiqh–tasawwuf forms ontological, methodological, and ethical foundations. These foundations systematically generate the operational principles of tawassuth (moderation), tawazun (balance), tasamuh (tolerance), and i‘tidal (justice). These principles are not merely normative slogans but epistemic consequences of the integration of theology, law, and spirituality. This epistemological structure is translated into a cadre formation model integrating cognitive, affective, and social praxis dimensions. The study concludes that religious moderation within Nahdlatul Ulama is rooted in a consistent epistemological construction since 1926 and retains transformative relevance in contemporary plural societies.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and analyse an innovative management model for early childhood learning grounded in local culture, leveraging digital technology. The research focuses on developing a learning management system integrated with the values of cultural wisdom “Kedirian” through an interactive digital storytelling application. The approach used is research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Data were collected through observation, interviews, and pre- and post-tests. The results of the study indicate that implementing this innovative management model significantly increases children’s active participation, strengthens their understanding of character values, including honesty, cooperation, and patience, and develops their socio-emotional skills in early childhood. The main product of this research is the Dongeng Digital Nusantara Kediri application, which uses Generative AI to present local fairy tales such as the Legend of Mount Kelud and Calon Arang in interactive visual and audio formats. These findings emphasise the importance of integrating technology and culture in early childhood learning management to shape a young generation with character, rooted in local culture, in the digital era.

Abstract

This study examines oral motor development in children aged 0-12 months with a focus on functional and therapeutic aspects. The purpose of the study is to understand the pattern of oral motor development, influencing factors, and evaluate the effectiveness of various therapeutic methods applied. The qualitative research method was used by collecting data through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis at school. The results of the study showed that the initial suction reflex and stimulation from the environment played an important role in oral motor development. Oral muscle exercises and the use of technology such as oral vibrators have been shown to be effective in strengthening the oral muscles, improving chewing and speaking skills in children. However, there is controversy regarding the use of therapeutic tools, with some parents and therapy professionals preferring the natural approach. This study emphasizes the importance of parental education and their active involvement in the therapy process for optimal outcomes. The implications of this study are the need for a holistic approach and timely interventions to support healthy oral motor development, as well as the importance of flexibility in choosing a therapy method that suits the specific needs of the child.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of utilizing a shared Google Drive based on Belajar.ID account on improving teacher performance. The background of this study is the need to improve teachers' digital competence as part of a technology-based educational transformation. With the increasing development of digital technology, educational institutions must utilize various digital platforms to improve the quality of learning and teacher performance. This study uses a qualitative case study approach by collecting data through in-depth interviews with principals, teachers, and administrative staff and direct observation of shared Google Drive in two early childhood education institutions. The research findings show that the use of shared Google Drive facilitates administrative efficiency and encourages collaboration, knowledge sharing, and increased digital literacy among teachers. Institutional policy support, including regular training and leadership encouragement, plays an important role in ensuring the sustainability of this digital transformation. In practice, the findings of this study suggest that integrating cloud-based technology within a structured policy framework can significantly contribute to teachers' ongoing professional development.

Abstract

General Background: The quality of education fundamentally hinges on teacher performance, as educators are central to the learning process. Specific Background: Despite widespread acknowledgment of their significance, systemic efforts to enhance teacher effectiveness remain fragmented. Knowledge Gap: There is limited integrative analysis that systematically categorizes the full spectrum of internal and external factors influencing teacher performance. Aims: This study aims to identify and categorize the key determinants that shape teacher performance using descriptive analysis of empirical data. Results: Five primary factors emerged: personal characteristics, systemic structures, team collaboration, leadership, and contextual influences. Emotional stability was the most critical personal trait, while organizational systems and teamwork directly impacted task performance and student outcomes. Leadership supported ethical professionalism, and unaddressed contextual pressures risked performance decline. Novelty: The study’s novelty lies in its multidimensional synthesis of performance drivers, emphasizing the interplay between internal traits and external systems. Implications: Findings advocate for holistic educational policies that concurrently strengthen individual, structural, and contextual supports to sustainably elevate teaching quality. Highlights: Emotional stability is the most influential personal trait. School systems and teamwork enhance performance quality. Contextual pressure must be managed to avoid performance decline. Keywords: Teacher Performance, Educational Quality, Internal Factors, External Influences, School Leadership

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of character development from an early age and the need for synergy between home and school to support positive behavioral habits in children. This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of the 7 Habits of Great Indonesian Children through a partnership between parents and teachers at RA Miftahul Huda Sukorejo–Pasuruan. A qualitative case study approach was used, involving the principal, teachers, and parents of students as research subjects. Data were obtained through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. They were then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was maintained through triangulation of sources and techniques to ensure data trustworthiness. The results indicate that the partnership between parents and teachers was fostered through the Daily Contact Book, WhatsApp Group, and Parenting Class, resulting in effective two-way communication. This creates a strong mesosystem between home and school, enabling the 7 Habits to be implemented harmoniously in both environments. Research findings demonstrate positive impacts in the form of improved moral behavior, social character, learning motivation, and emotional and spiritual development in children, coupled with integrated home and school habits. Therefore, early childhood character development will be optimal if home and school work synergistically, consistently, and mutually reinforcingly within an integrated educational ecosystem.
