Abstract

The research aims to identify students difficulties in making research instruments and analyzing the factors of the students difficulties in making research instruments. This type of research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The study was conducted on 41 students of elementary school teacher Education (PGSD) semester seven year 2019/2020 Faculty of Training and Education science of Mataram University. Data collection techniques using interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results showed, the biggest difficulties experienced by students when arranging instrument items and testing and analyzing the validity and reliability of the instruments to be worth using. As much as 40% of research instruments compiled by PGSD students deserve to be used, 40% of instruments still require revision, and 20% of unworthy instruments in meaning need to be proven validity and reliability. The factors that led to students of PGSD Mataram University have difficulty in making research instruments, among others: the lack of interest in reading thus experiencing confusion in distinguishing the conceptual definition and operational definition, the unknowing to ask if there are things that are less understandable, the lack of understanding the substance in each process they do so that there is often a discrepancy between the processes that one with the other, the students are less thorough, and they have their own views on the research.

Abstract

The concept of a linear equation is an initial concept that must be mastered by prospective elementary school teachers. This study aims to improve the understanding of the concept of linear equations for elementary school teacher candidates by implementing PhET Interactive Simulation. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test-post-test control group design. The sample in this study was class 2F as the experimental class, namely the class that learned the concept of linear equations using PhET Interactive Simulation and class 2H as the control class, namely the class that learned the concept of straight-line equations conventionally (lectures or online meetings). Data on the concept understanding of linear equations were obtained by test and analyzed by independent sample t-test and normalized gain test. The results showed that the experimental class showed a significant increase in understanding the concept of linear equations compared to the control class. The average value of students' conceptual understanding on linear equations in the experimental class is higher than the post-test average in the control class, so PhET Interactive Simulation is effective in improving students' understanding of straight-line equations concepts.

Abstract

Pemahaman tentang operasi hitung bilangan bulat menjadi sangat penting untuk dipahami siswa. Hal ini karena operasi hitung bilangan bulat merupakan fondasi atau dasar untuk bisa memahami konsep matematika yang lebih tinggi. Hampir tidak ada konsep dalam matematika yang tidak membutuhkan kemampuan operasi hitung bilangan bulat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal operasi hitung bilangan bulat dan mengidentifikasi jenis operasi hitung yang dipahami dan yang belum dipahami oleh siswa selama kegiatan belajar dari rumah. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di sekolah MI Raudhatul Jannah yang terdiri 25 siswa yaitu siswa kelas IV dan kelas V. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa secara umum kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal operasi hitung bilang bulat selama belajar dari rumah berada pada kategori rendah dan sangat rendah. Jenis kemampuan operasi hitung yang sudah dipahami siswa selama belajar dari rumah yaitu operasi hitung penjumlahan dan pengurangan. Jenis kemampuan operasi hitung yang belum dipahami oleh siswa selama belajar dari rumah adalah operasi hitung perkalian, operasi hitung pembagian dan operasi hitung campuran.

Abstract

This research is based on the results of observations and experiences of researchers, that cognitive ability in compiling patterns is still low. The use of natural material media will be more fun for children in compiling patterns, because natural material media are very interesting for children. Based on this background, the problems studied were formulated, namely: "Can using natural material media develop the ability to compose patterns in fourth grade students?". This study uses a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach with a sample of fourth-grade students in an elementary school in the city of Mataram. This research was conducted in three cycles, using an assessment instrument in the form of sheets of the ability to compose patterns with natural materials media and teacher observation sheets. The results of this study, namely the media of natural materials proved successful and able to develop the ability to compose patterns in fourth-grade elementary school students. This can be seen from the results of data analysis on the use of natural media in the first cycle reaching 58.34%, the second cycle 70.84%, ​​and the third cycle 87.50%. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the act of learning through the use of natural media can develop the ability to compose patterns in fourth-grade students in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) The effect of self-confidence on the ability of public speaking; (2) The effect of communication skills on public speaking skills; (3) The effect of self confidence and communication ability on public speaking ability of Elementary School Teacher Education Students 2019, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Mataram. This research is an ex post facto study using a quantitative data approach. The subjects in this study were students of class 2019, amounting to 345 and then taken as many as 38% of the population of around 131 students. Analysis Methods of data collection using a questionnaire. Test the validity of the instrument using Product Moment correlation and reliability testing using Alpha Cronbach. Data analysis uses descriptive statistical analysis; analysis prerequisite test consisting of normality test, linearity test, and multicollinearity test; and regression analysis consisting of a simple linear regression test and multiple linear regression test. The results showed: (1) There was a positive and significant effect of self- confidence on the public speaking ability. (2) There is a positive and significant influence of communication ability on the public speaking ability. (3) There is a positive and significant influence of self-confidence and communication ability on the public speaking ability.

Abstract

This research is based on the observations and experiences of researchers, that at SMP Pawyatan Daha there are some students who are still doing things based on following along with friends, not based on themselves. For example, when a friend has a problem with a gang then triggers a fight, then his other friends will join in a fight with the intention of defending a friend even though they don't know what the problem is. This study aims to determine the effect of peer relations on self-identity. This study uses a quantitative research approach with comparative or ex-post facto causal techniques. The study population was 185, and the sample consisted of 47 research subjects of class VI students of SDN 26 Ampenan. Collecting data using peer questionnaire instruments and self-identity then based on the results of the distribution of questionnaires it was found that peers had a significant influence on the self-identity of grade VII students of SMP Pawyatan Daha 1 Kediri. Based on the results of the study using the product moment correlation test, the results obtained the value of r count ≥ r table or 0.295 ≥ 0.288. This means that there is an effect of peer interaction on the identity of class VII students of SMP Pawyatan Daha 1 Kediri. This result is supported by a simple linear regression test obtained by R Square with a result of 0.087. This means that the magnitude of the influence of peer interaction on self-identity is very weak.

Abstract

Community Service Camp (KBM) is a PGSD student activity as a form of implementation of one of the Higher Education Tri Dharma values namely Community Service. This activity is a routine activity that is carried out once a year. For the 2020 period, KBM activities will be carried out in Batu Butir Village, Kekait District, North Lombok Regency. This activity lasted for 1 month starting on January 2 to February 2, 2020. One of the sub-units of this activity was an effort to improve the quality of education in SDI "Amanah" Kekait. This activity was carried out because based on problem mapping, the school still lacked teacher education personnel. In addition, the teacher who teaches is also not in accordance with the scientific field in elementary schools. The second problem is the lack of parental insight regarding the urgency of education for children. This can be seen from the many children in Batu Butir Village who attend school only up to elementary school level. Therefore the PGSD PKM team carried out two main activities, namely (1) Helping to teach at school; and (2) Education the importance of education for children. This activity received a positive response from students and guardians of students. The results of the first activity show that students become active and enthusiastic in learning. In addition the value obtained also increased. For the second activity, many dialogues conducted with the parents showed that parents began to be enthusiastic in sending their children to high school.

Abstract

Tema perkalian dan pembagian pecahan pada pembelajaran matematika masih menjadi hal yang sulit bagi peserta didik di kelas IV SDN 3 Batu Kumbung. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan rendahnya capaian hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik pada tema perkalian dan pembagian pecahan yang rata-rata dibawah KKM. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif melalui variasi model pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Numbered Head Together (NHT) pada tema perkalian dan pembagian pecahan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilakukan pada peserta didik kelas IV SDN 3 Batu Kumbung yang berjumlah 21 orang dengan dua siklus. Data diperoleh dengan teknik tes dan dianalisis melalui statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari siklus pertama hanya terdapat sedikit peningkatan, namun setelah para peserta didik kelas IV diberikan petunjuk dan penguatan, hasil belajar kognitif pada tema perkalian dan pembagian pecahan meningkat melebihi nilai KKM. Siklus dihentikan setelah nilai rata-rata hasil belajar kognitif pada tema perkalian dan pembagian pecahan telah tercapai atau melebihi nilai kriteria ketuntasan minimal.

Abstract

A strong character has a very important role in many aspects of life, especially the academic field. This study aims to test the effectiveness of experiential learning on strengthening character values in reducing student academic cheating. The subjects of this study were a small group of students (38 people). The instruments used in data collection were academic fraud questionnaires and pretest-posttest questions. The data analysis technique used the Mc Nemar Test. The results of the Mc Nemar Test show that the value of Z count> Z table and a significant value> 0.05, or 3.77> 1.96, and 0.809> 0.05, thus the conclusion is that H0 is rejected. This means that the experiential learning strategy can improve the strengthening of student character and reduce academic cheating.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hasil perbandingan analisis kualitas soal kemampuan membedakan rangkaian seri dan rangkaian paralel melalui pendekatan teori tes klasik dan model Rasch dilihat dari aspek validitas, reliabilitas, tingkat kesukaran soal, serta daya pembeda soal. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dan proses pengambilan data dilakukan pada bulan Februari 2020. Data diperoleh melalui metode dokumentasi berupa 40 butir soal pilihan ganda dengan dua opsi jawaban dan diujikan kepada 195 orang mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar FKIP Universitas Mataram. Data dianalisis dengan pendekatan teori tes klasik menggunakan SPSS 18.0 dan model Rasch dengan software Winstep. Kualitas soal dari aspek validitas dengan pendekatan teori tes klasik diperoleh 30 soal yang dikategorikan valid dan 10 soal dianggap tidak valid sedangkan dengan model Rasch diperoleh 5 soal kategorikan valid dan 35 soal dikategorikan tidak valid. Nilai reliabilitas Cronbach Alpha (KR-20) soal tes melalui pendekatan teori tes klasik adalah 0,470 (buruk) dan nilai reliabilitas Cronbach Alpha (KR-20) pada model Rasch adalah 0,640 (cukup) dengan nilai Person Reliability sebesar 0,60 (lemah) dan Item Reliability sebesar 0,97 (istimewa). Rata-rata indeks tingkat kesukaran soal pada pendekatan teori tes klasik adalah 0,631 dengan kategori sedang, sedangkan hasil analisis tingkat kesukaran berdasarkan model Rasch menunjukkan terdapat empat kategori tingkat kesulitan butir soal yaitu 7 soal yang termasuk sangat mudah, 13 soal mudah, 15 soal sulit, serta 5 soal sangat sulit. Daya pembeda butir soal dengan pendekatan teori tes klasik berada pada kategori buruk (20 item), kategori cukup 19 butir soal, serta 1 item dengan kategori baik. Daya pembeda butir soal dari pemodelan Rasch diperoleh 8 (delapan) kelompok butir soal yang didasarkan pada indeks separasi butir soal (H=8,28).
