Abstract

The purpose of this article is to evaluate the implementation of the boarding school curriculum at MTsS Nurul Falah, West Aceh Regency. This article uses the CIPP (Context-Input-Process-Product) model evaluation method developed by Stufflebeam. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, questionnaires, interviews and document studies related to the boarding school curriculum. Data analysis uses the opinion of Miles and Haberman, namely data reduction, data display, drawing conclusions and data verification. The research results indicate that the implementation of the boarding school curriculum at MTsS Nurul Falah in West Aceh District has been running well and in accordance with the standard set by the foundation and the government. In the future, to bring forth new innovations in implementing the boarding school curriculum, there is a need for continuous guidance and specialized training for the teachers of dayah/boarding schools to optimize the quality of the learning process and the educational outcomes. The results of this study can provide input for the headmasters of madrasahs and the heads of the Ministry of Religious Affairs offices in making decisions related to improving the quality of education.

Abstract

Abstract

Education plays an important role in creating a young generation to be able to compete in the era of globalization, one of which is through mathematics learning. The objectives of mathematics learning include mathematical communication, learning to reason mathematically, learning to solve problems, and learning to connect ideas. These abilities are abilities that students must have in facing global challenges. This study aims to determine the improvement of communication skills, the sharpness of mathematical problem solving, and self-efficacy using a scientific approach through the application of the discovery learning model. This study is a quantitative study, and the type of research used in this study is quasi-experimental. The research design used is one group pretest-posttest. This study was conducted in one of the high schools in West Aceh. The study population was 29 grade 10 students. Data collection techniques used test and non-test methods. The findings of the study showed a significant increase in communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and self-efficacy when using the discovery learning approach in the context of trigonometric ratios. The approach is considered quite effective, which means it produces a substantial increase in the cognitive abilities mentioned above among students.

Abstract

Previous studies have demonstrated that technology helps achieve learning outcomes. However, many studies focus on just one aspect of technology’s role in educational assessment practices, leaving a gap in studies that examine how various aspects affect the use of technology in assessments. Hence, through a systematic work, we analyzed the extent and manner in which technology is integrated into educational assessments and how education level, domain of learning, and region may affect the use of technology. We reviewed empirical studies from two major databases (i.e., Scopus and ERIC) and a national journal whose focus and scope are on educational measurement and assessment, following PRISMA guidelines for systematic reviews. The findings of the present study are directed towards emphasizing the roles of technology in educational assessment practices and how these roles are adapted to varying educational contexts such as the level of education, the three domains of learning (i.e., cognitive, psychomotor, and affective), and the setting in which the assessment was conducted. These findings not only highlight the current roles of technology in educational assessment but also provide a roadmap for future research aimed at optimizing the integration of technology across diverse educational contexts.

Abstract

The water used by the community in Kota Bangun II Village for drinking and daily needs comes from three types of groundwater sources, namely natural sources, drilled wells and dug wells. This research aims to determine the suitability of the air consumed by the people of Kota Bangun II Village. This type of research is descriptive quantitative with the parameters tested being physical, chemical and biological parameters. The air sampling technique used in this research was purposive sampling. The air testing site at the Air Quality Laboratory and Microbiology and Aquaculture Biotechnology Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Mulawarman University, research was carried out for 3 months, namely January-March 2023. Based on the research results which have been compared with PERMENKES No. 492 of 2010 and Indonesian Government Regulation no. 82 of 2001 and Government Regulation no. 20 of 1990 that the source of drinking water in Kota Bangun II Village cannot be consumed directly and does not qualify as standard water

Abstract

The research aimed to look at the effect of induction. The effect of administering ethanol extract of gaharu leaves (Aquilaria malaccensis Lamk) on the histopathological picture of the lungs of white mice (Mus musculus) induced by carbamate class insecticides. The method used was truly experimental, carbamate induction via the intramuscular route with a dose of 14.4 Mg/BW and agarwood extract administered via the oral route with doses of 100, 200, and 300 Mg/BW, the duration of each treatment was 15 days. After treatment, preparations were made of the lungs using the paraffin block staining method with hematoxylin-eosin, the thickness of the alveolar septa and the presence of alveolar macrophages were measured. The results of the research showed that there was a thickening of the alveolar septa after induction of carbamate insecticide at a dose of 14.4 mg/BW with an average thickness of 21.62 µm compared to the healthy control group of 12.61, in addition to an increase in the percentage of neutrophils of 48.66 compared to the healthy controls of 23.33 which was caused by inflammation in the mice's bodies. , a decrease in the thickness of alveolar septa was caused by the administration of ethanol extract of agarwood leaves at a dose of 100/200/300 mg/BW with an average thickness of 15.18, 13.73, 15.57 µm compared to the negative control of 21.62 µm. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an influence of agarwood leaf extract on lung histopathology -lungs of mice induced with carbamate class insecticides.

Abstract

Analogical reasoning plays a vital role in mathematics learning, especially in helping students solve new problems by using structural similarities with known problems. Each student has a different thinking style, which influences how they process information to solve mathematical problems. This research aims to analyze the analogical reasoning thinking process in solving mathematical problems from the perspective of Sternberg's thinking styles. The study employs a qualitative approach with exploratory methods. This study involved 9th-grade students from a public junior high school in Tasikmalaya City, West Java. The results conclude that the complete and accurate analogical reasoning thinking process in solving mathematical problems is exhibited by the legislative, executive, judicial, local, and internal thinking styles.

Abstract

This article explores the formation of social formations influenced by the growth and dynamics of Qur'anic education through the existence of Rumah Tahfiz. This model of Qur'anic education is considered revolutionary compared to previous approaches because it brings various innovations in education that are more in line with the needs of urban Muslim communities as its main target. The core question of this article is: How does the presence of Rumah Tahfiz affect social formations in the city of Banjarmasin? Through an ethnographic approach, including participatory observation for three months from September to November 2023, this article finds that social dynamics and formations have changed the face of Rumah Tahfiz as an institution of Qur'anic education, while also emphasizing the role of Rumah Tahfiz in changing the social structure of the surrounding community.
