Abstract

The dichotomy between neuroscience and Islamic Education has led to sluggish scientific progress and the emergence of unresolved issues. Islamic education, rooted in divine revelation, relies on reason as its foundation—a realm extensively studied in neuroscience. This research aims to investigate the potential of integrating neuroscience and Islamic Education, giving rise to the scientific field of Islamic Education Neuroscience. The study employs a qualitative literature-based approach, analyzing various theories and adopting a grounded theory methodology to shape the research objectives. The findings reveal that Islamic Education Neuroscience, encompassing the epistemology of Islam, including bayani, irfani, and burhani traditions, already exhibits scientific validity due to existing studies. However, further scientific development necessitates internalizing scientific theories, substantiating them within the epistemology of Islamic Education, and fostering integration with other Islamic education disciplines. This research holds significant implications for achieving the comprehensive goals of Islamic education, harmoniously bridging the gap between general science and Islam. The envisioned scientific development of Islamic education presents a framework for deeper understanding and practical application of knowledge, in alignment with Islamic principles, contributing to human progress.

Abstract

Previous studies have demonstrated that technology helps achieve learning outcomes. However, many studies focus on just one aspect of technology’s role in educational assessment practices, leaving a gap in studies that examine how various aspects affect the use of technology in assessments. Hence, through a systematic work, we analyzed the extent and manner in which technology is integrated into educational assessments and how education level, domain of learning, and region may affect the use of technology. We reviewed empirical studies from two major databases (i.e., Scopus and ERIC) and a national journal whose focus and scope are on educational measurement and assessment, following PRISMA guidelines for systematic reviews. The findings of the present study are directed towards emphasizing the roles of technology in educational assessment practices and how these roles are adapted to varying educational contexts such as the level of education, the three domains of learning (i.e., cognitive, psychomotor, and affective), and the setting in which the assessment was conducted. These findings not only highlight the current roles of technology in educational assessment but also provide a roadmap for future research aimed at optimizing the integration of technology across diverse educational contexts.

Abstract

The research aimed to look at the effect of induction. The effect of administering ethanol extract of gaharu leaves (Aquilaria malaccensis Lamk) on the histopathological picture of the lungs of white mice (Mus musculus) induced by carbamate class insecticides. The method used was truly experimental, carbamate induction via the intramuscular route with a dose of 14.4 Mg/BW and agarwood extract administered via the oral route with doses of 100, 200, and 300 Mg/BW, the duration of each treatment was 15 days. After treatment, preparations were made of the lungs using the paraffin block staining method with hematoxylin-eosin, the thickness of the alveolar septa and the presence of alveolar macrophages were measured. The results of the research showed that there was a thickening of the alveolar septa after induction of carbamate insecticide at a dose of 14.4 mg/BW with an average thickness of 21.62 µm compared to the healthy control group of 12.61, in addition to an increase in the percentage of neutrophils of 48.66 compared to the healthy controls of 23.33 which was caused by inflammation in the mice's bodies. , a decrease in the thickness of alveolar septa was caused by the administration of ethanol extract of agarwood leaves at a dose of 100/200/300 mg/BW with an average thickness of 15.18, 13.73, 15.57 µm compared to the negative control of 21.62 µm. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an influence of agarwood leaf extract on lung histopathology -lungs of mice induced with carbamate class insecticides.
