Pendekatan Science Technology Society merupakan salah satu pendekatan yang menghubungkan antara pembelajaran sains dengan kemajuan teknologi dan perkembangan masyarakat yang ada di sekitar siswa, siswa dilatih untuk memadukan pemahamannya tentang dunia alam (sains) dengan dunia buatan manusia (teknologi) dan dunia sosial melalui pengalaman siswa sehari-hari.Dengan demikiandiharapkan terjadi peningkatan life skill siswa.penelitian ini bertujuan untuk : 1) Mengetahuiprestasi belajar dan aktifitas belajar siswadengan menerapkanpendekatan STS pada materi pokoklingkungan hidup di SMP se Aceh Besa, 2) Mengetahui tingkat kemampuan guru dalam menerapkan pendekatan STSdalam rangka meningkatkan prestasi belajarsiswa, khususnya pada materi pokoklingkungan hidup, 3) Mengetahui tanggapan guru dan siswa terhadap penerapan pendekatan STSpada pembelajaran materi pokoklingkungan hidup. Populasi penelitian ini adalah guru sains dan siswa di SMP se Aceh Besar. Sampel diambil 10 SMP, masing-masing sekolah diambil 2 orang guru dan 10 orang siswa. Instrumen pengumpulan data digunakan lembar observasi, angket, dan wawancara.Data dianalisis secara deskriptif menggunakan rumus persentase dan analisis kualitatif secara narasi. Hasil analisis data dan temuan-temuan yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut: Implementasi pendekatan STSdapat meningkatkan kualitas aktivitas siswa, dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa,dapat meningkatkan kualitas literasi sains dan teknologi siswa dengan baik. Serta meningkatnya respon siswa dan guru.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi pendekatan saintifik melalui Problem Based Learning (PBL) dalam meningkatkan minat dan prestasi belajar matematika siswa kelas VIID SMP Negeri 2 Gamping. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh skor minat belajar siswa tergolong dalam kriteria rendah (skor 66,84). Hasil tes prestasi belajar matematika juga masih kurang memuaskan, dengan tidak adanya siswa yang tuntas (nilai 75). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus. Hasil siklus pertama menunjukkan persentase siswa yang tuntas dalam tes prestasi belajar meningkat menjadi 53,13%. Demikian juga dengan minat belajar juga meningkat ke kategori sedang (skor 82,81). Selanjutnya, di siklus 2 minat belajar kembali meningkat ke kategori tinggi (skor 92,28). Demikian juga dengan persentase siswa yang tuntas dalam prestasi belajar meningkat menjadi 78,13%.

This study aims to determine the effect of tomato paste on blood cholesterol in mice. It was an experimental study using a complete randomized study design consisting of four treatments P0, P1, P2, and P3 by giving tomato paste solution in a concentration of 0%, 20%, 40% and 80% and 6 replications. Data were analyzed using Anova one path and continued with BNT with a confidence level of 95%. The results showed that the tomato paste solution affected the blood cholesterol of mice due to Fhit (3.27)> F tab (3.10) and the treatment that gave the greatest effect was on giving the concentration of tomato paste solution by 80%.

This research is aimed to explore the cultural elements especially in Sasak architectures in Lombok Island such as a home living (Bale), worship building (masjid), lumbung (sambi) in ethnomathematics point of view. This research uses qualitative approach with cognitive (anthropology cognitive). The interviewees are the experienced custom leader and humanists who has conducted the research on Sasak society. Meanwhile, the data collection method used the participant, observation and documentation. Data analysis on this research is not only based on the researcher is interpretation but also the idea structure of the society.Â This research shows the evidence of sensitivity on the use of numbers practiced by Sasak ancestor long time ago in doing the measurement using their anthropometric ability (Ethnomathematics). The architecture products of sasak society also describe that sasak society is more focus on the process than the final products itself which describes the consistency in conducting role and cultural device which control the desire of individual construction.

The aims of this research were to describe mathematics skill of 8th fifteen-year old students in Yogyakarta in solving problem of PISA. The sampling was combination of stratified and cluster random sampling. The sample consisting of 400 students was selected from fifteen schools. The data collection was by tests. The research finding revealed that mathematics skill of fifteen-year old students in Yogyakarta in solving problem of PISA was low in category but it was better than Indonesian students in PISA 2012. Mathematics skill of fifteen-year old students in Yogyakarta in solving problem of PISA was below the OECD average of PISA 2012.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.22342/jme.9.1.4231.129-144

Marriage is an essential part of life for most people. In the Javanese tradition, great attention is paid to the weton of the couple through Javanese Primbon. It predicts the fate of the couple in the marriage. This prediction of the Javanese outcome after the wedding has some numerical values. Therefore, this study aims to uncover these numerical values using ethnomathematics. This research uses a qualitative method. Analyzing the Javanese Primbon documents is meant to explore the numerical value of Javanese people. Also, analyzing the data using the Javanese Primbon documents was not only based on the interpretation of the researcher but also the result of discussions with cultural and mathematical experts. This study proposes numerical values such as number bases, remainder theorem, modulo, and modulus of the congruence in formal mathematics, which is associated with matchmaking using Javanese Primbon.

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan model evaluasi proses pembelajaran matematika di SMP berdasarkan Kurikulum 2013, dan menilai keefektifan model yang dikembangkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan. Subjek coba adalah guru, kepala sekolah, dan pengawas. Instrumen pengumpul data adalah kuesioner dan lembar observasi. Proses pengem-bangan dilakukan dalam 4 tahap yaitu: (1) investigasi awal; (2) perencanaan pengembangan, valida-si; (3) uji coba, dan (4) finalisasi produk. Uji coba dilakukan tiga tahap dengan jumlah subjek me-ningkat setiap tahapnya. Instrumen evaluasi terdiri instrumen penilaian perencanaan pembelajaran, pelaksanaan pembelajaran, dan pelaksanaan penilaian. Validitas isi dilakukan melalui focus group discussion (FGD). Validitas konstruk dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis faktor, dan estimasi reliabilitasnya mengunakan Intraclass Correlation Coefficient(ICC). Hasil penelitian berupa model eva-luasi proses pembelajaran matematika di SMP, yaitu prosedur evaluasi, panduan evaluasi, dan instrumen evaluasi. Berdasarkan hasil uji coba, semua instrumen memiliki kecocokan model yang baik, karena validitas konstruk, dan reliabilitas memenuhi persyaratan akademik. Penilaian para praktisi dan pengguna, model evaluasi proses pembelajaran matematika sangat efektif untuk diterapkan.Kata kunci: model evaluasi, proses pembelajaran, matematika SMP______________________________________________________________DEVELOPING A MODEL FOR AN EVALUATION OF MATHEMATICS LEARNING PROCESSES AT JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOLS BASED ON CURRICULUM 2013Abstract This studi aims to develop a model for an evaluation of mathematics learning processes at junior high schools (JHSs) based on Curriculum 2013 and evaluate the effectiveness of the model develo-ped. This was a research and development study. The subject of the research was the teachers, principals, and supervisors. The data collecting instruments were questionnaires and observational sheet. The development process was carried out in 4 stages namely: (1) preliminary investigation; (2) planning development, validation; (3) tryout; (4) product finalization. The try out was perform-ed in 3 stages with the increasing number of participants for each stage. The learning process evaluation model was supported by instrument to assess lesson plans, learning implementation, and the implementation of learning outcome assessment. The content validity was assessed through focus group discussion (FGD). The construct validity was assessed by the factor analysis, and the reliabilities were estimated by the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC). The result of the research was a model of evaluation of mathematics learning processes at junior high schools (JHSs) based on Curriculum 2013, consisting of procedures, evaluation guideline and the well de-signed instruments. Based on the try out, all of the instruments have had good suitability, because construct validity and reliability meet all of the academic requirements. According to the evalua-tion from the practitioners and the model users, the model of the evaluation of mathematics learn-ing processes at junior high schools (JHSs) based on Curriculum 2013 was very effective to be implemented. ERROR ANALYSIS FOR GRADE IX STUDENTS IN COMPLETING THE MATERIALS OF QUADRATIC EQUATION Sari, Ika Firmaningsih Dian Prima; Jailani, Jailani

The objective of the study is to discover: (1) types of errors that the students have committed; (2) the obstacles that the students have dealt with; and (3) the size of the errors that the students have committed. The nature of the study is qualitative and quantitative research. Then, within the conduct of the study, the research site was the Angkasa Adisucipto Junior High School located in Janti Street, Adisucipto Air Base, Caturtunggal, Depok, Yogyakarta. The subjects within the study were the students from Grade IX A, Grade IX B and Grade IX C from the Angkasa Adiscucipto Junior High School Yogyakarta. The data were gathered by using test administration, questionnaire distribution and documentation study. Then, the instruments that had been implemented within the conduct of the study were the essay test instrument and the questionnaire. The results of the study show that the errors that the Grade IX students from Angkasa Adisucipto Junior High School in completing the materials of Quadratic Equation from the perspective of conceptual understanding are namely: (1) the students have not correctly formulated the mathematical concepts by using the appropriate symbol or language; (2) the students have committed errors in composing the theorem or formula (whereas it has not been demand-ed in the test items); (3) the students have committed errors in composing the ABC formula when they are completing the test items; and (4) the students have not composed the theorem or the formula for completing the test items. Then, the five biggest obstacles in learning the materials of Quadratic Equation are namely: (1) classroom (64.06%); (2) students? capacity (46.25%); (3) material delivery (30.07%); (4) students? attitude and interest toward the materials of Quadratic Equation (29.24%); and (5) students? motivation (25.78%).

Many factors affect learners' performance in learningmathematics. One is self-confidence, which is an importanttopic for discussion. Some researches have revealed thatlearners whose self-confidence is high have a low level ofanxiety in mathematics and vice versa. ..Learners' self-confidence in mathematics is their ownperception about their ability or competence in doing mathematics(e.g., in studying or doing tests on mathematics).Studies on genius reveal that most successfil original thinkershave been characterized with a high degree of self-confidence.Self-confidence can contribute to learners' achievenient,Improvements on learners' self-confidence can be doneby shoring up their self-image, self-esteem, and self-worth.especially when they fail their mathematics examination orbecome the objects of others' mockery or pressure.

This study aims to describe the effect of the Active Knowledge Sharing model with the scientific approach to the self-confidence of fourth grade elementary school students. This research is a quasi-experimental research with pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design design. This study used two experimental groups (Active Knowledge Sharing Model) and two control groups (ordinary learning). The population in this study consisted of an experimental group consisting of SDN Balangan 1 and SDN Sendangharjo, and the control group consisted of SDN Balangan 2 and SDN Kebonagung. Instruments used in collecting data in the form of non-test instruments in the form of a questionnaire to measure students' confidence level. Test data normality using Kolmogrov_Smirnov and homogeneity test using Box's M. Data test was analyzed using independent sample t-test. Result of Independent Sample t-test above, obtained by significance value of dependent variable of confidence sig. 0.05, ie 0.008 0.05. This means that H0 is rejected and Ha accepted, the conclusion is that there is a difference of influence between the experimental class and the control class on the student's self-confidence
