Abstract

Background: The digital divide in Indonesia's underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) regions creates significant challenges for mathematics education in elementary schools. Traditional teaching methods often fail to engage students, resulting in low learning motivation and poor academic outcomes. Objective: This study aims to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of 'EduGame Mathematics,' a gamification-based mobile learning application designed to enhance learning interest among elementary school students in 3T regions. Methods: A quantitative experimental research design was employed using a pretest-posttest control group design. The study involved 120 elementary school students (grades 4-6) from three schools in 3T regions, randomly assigned to experimental (n=60) and control (n=60) groups. Data collection instruments included learning motivation questionnaires, mathematics achievement tests, and application usability assessments. Statistical analysis was conducted using independent t-tests and paired t-tests with SPSS 25.0. Results: The experimental group demonstrated significantly higher learning motivation scores compared to the control group (M=85.4, SD=8.2 vs M=68.7, SD=9.1; t(118)=10.45, p<0.001). Mathematics achievement scores showed substantial improvement in the experimental group, with a mean increase of 24.3 points (from 62.1 to 86.4), while the control group showed minimal improvement of 5.2 points (from 61.8 to 67.0). The application received high usability ratings (M=4.31/5.0) and demonstrated strong acceptance among students and teachers. Conclusion: The EduGame Mathematics application effectively enhances learning interest and achievement among elementary school students in 3T regions. The gamification approach successfully addresses educational challenges in resource-constrained environments, providing a scalable solution for improving mathematics education quality in remote areas of Indonesia.

Abstract

This investigation seeks to select the most effective strategy for reducing the stunting rate in the Garut district so that the high stunting rate can be de- creased. This study used qualitative methods to collect primary and secondary data through direct observation and interviews. Additionally, supplementary data was obtained from literature reviews, interview guidelines, recording equipment, and cameras used as research instruments. The analysis method uses the Analytical Hierarchy Process method along with an analysis tool called Expert Choice software to make choosing the most important criteria, sub-criteria, and options easier. Therefore, in this research, the selected sub-criteria and alternatives are sub-criteria for RT drinking water management and alternative socialization that must be prioritized to reduce the garut stunting rate. In contrast to the RT Drinking Water Management Subcriteria, which has a weight of 550 and a consistency value of 0.0014 and is deemed consistent because the consistency value is less than 0.1, the Alternative Socialization Subcriteria has a weight of 361 and a consistency value of 0.02 and is also deemed consistent because the consistency value is less than 0.1. Then, the priority results from the analytical hierarchy process were strengthened using a SWOT analysis, with the RT Drinking Water Management and Alternative Socialization sub-criteria having good weight and being located in quadrant I, which has the capability and potential to reduce the stunting rate of the Garut Regency’s.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategy of Collaborative Governance in the development of Bukit Tegal Malaka tourist attraction in Garut Regency, employing a qualitative descriptive method through interviews, observations, and document studies. Referring to the model of Ansell and Gash (2008), the findings indicate that tourism development is driven by active community participation, institutional support through Village Regulations, and initial synergy with the Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes). However, the implementation still faces challenges such as low tourism awareness, limited access to capital, and insufficient support from local government. Nevertheless, the community-based initiative has generated both economic and social benefits for local residents, suggesting that Collaborative Governance has the potential to serve as an effective model of tourism governance when supported by capacity building, regulatory reinforcement, and the active involvement of all stakeholders.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the management of multimedia learning media in early childhood classes, with the components of planning, development, implementation, evaluation and feedback, maintenance and updating, and training and support. This study uses a survey method with a quantitative approach. The research used a structured questionnaire with closed questions for getting the data distributed to 303 respondents of early childhood teachers. They were analysed using SPSS application. The findings show that in managing multimedia learning tools, most teachers—whether they design their own media or adapt it from other sources—share several common views. First, multimedia planning should be aligned with the learning objectives and context. Second, the development process needs to emphasize student engagement, which involves conducting needs analysis, considering learner characteristics, applying multimedia principles (such as coherence, redundancy, temporal contiguity, and modality), and integrating sound instructional design. Third, the use of multimedia is seen as highly beneficial for students. Fourth, regular evaluation is essential to measure its effectiveness and to give students opportunities to provide feedback. Fifth, teachers must ensure that multimedia content stays relevant and updated in line with current themes. Finally, teachers highlight the importance of adequate training in effective multimedia use, as well as broader support to ensure accessibility, including for students with special needs. The researchers recommend that results of this study be a guideline for teachers in managing multimedia learning media in early childhood classes
