Abstract

This study is intended to analyze the need for e-LKPD development based on the preview, question, read, reflect, recite, and review (PQ4R) to improve students' HOTS. There are three syntaxes of 3-stage levels of high order thinking skills recommended by Bloom's taxonomy. It consists of analyzing, evaluating, and creating. The type of this research is a descriptive qualitative study analysis based on a literature review of e-LKPD and equipped with the PQ4R strategy as an effort to increase the HOTS of students. The research subjects were educators and fourth-grade students of SD Negeri 1 Purwosari, Padangratu Sub-District, Central Lampung. The research objects are HOTS, PQ4R, and e-LKPD. The data collection instrument used interview guidelines, questionnaires, and tests. The cause of the low HOTS of students is the inadequacy of teaching materials and learning strategies used in training HOTS abilities. The results of the study found that educators had not fully used e-LKPD teaching materials. Educational units also require learning strategies that can increase HOTS. PQ4R is one of the learning strategies that can be applied as a solution to increase students' HOTS. Educators need e-LKPD that contains PQ4R learning strategies that are following the characteristics of students. Thus, it can be concluded that the PQ4R-based e-LKPD to improve the HOTS of students in primary schools needs to be developed.

Abstract

Population balance and water availability need to be considered. Indonesia as an agrarian country has abundant marine resource wealth. This condition makes Indonesia a center for marine tourism. The purpose of this research was to analyze water management in Seribu islands as national and foreign marine tourism which are then considered in the provision of sustainable clean water. This research method used descriptive ecological analysis which refers to the literature and data sourced from the amount of groundwater availability based on rainfall, evapotranspiration and dry length. Secondary data collected in this study include statistics and monographs of the study area, climatological meteorological data in the form of rainfall, dry months, and air temperature taken throughout 2019. The results showed that the water quality in the Seribu Islands deteriorated when the dry season arrived and when excessive groundwater extraction occurred. In addition, efforts to develop water management in the Seribu Islands are unplanned and sustainable while the population continues to increase. The growth of homestays, the number of tourists, public facilities such as hospitals, schools, and dormitories triggered the conversion of planting land. Pramuka Island has an unplanned harbor development which has an impact on water resources. Management and planning for the development of Reverse Osmosis Seawater (SWRO) in the Seribu Islands needs to be reconsidered for the supply and management of resources also for the water conservation activities that have not been effective.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in students' argumentation skills in learning biology on the subject matter of the respiratory system through a scientific approach. This research was conducted in class XII SMA in Way Kanan Regency, Lampung Province with an ex post facto design. The sampling technique used in this study was stratified random sampling with the determination of research subjects at SMAN 1 Baradatu which was accredited A, SMAN 2 Buay Bahuga was accredited B and MA Miftahul Ulum Way Tuba which was accredited C. Data collection instruments consisted of argumentation skill tests, interviews, study documentation and questionnaires. The argumentation skill data were analyzed with the help of Excel, hypothesis testing was carried out with one-way ANOVA and LSD test, interview data and learning documents were analyzed descriptively qualitatively with the Miles and Huberman model and questionnaire data were analyzed descriptively in percentage form. The results showed that there was a significant difference in argumentation skill among high school students with accreditation of A, B and C (sig. < 0.05). The average argumentation skill of students from A-accredited high schools was higher than B and C accredited high schools, but the average value of the three schools was very low. Students from A, B and C accredited high schools could make claims well, but had not been able to provide grounds, warrants and backings that are relevant to the claim. This was because students wer not used to working on argumentation questions and teachers had not optimized learning activities with a scientific approach.

Abstract

Pahawang Island is one of Lampung's tourist attractions known for its high organism biodiversity. The diversity of coral reefs contained in it causes Pahawang to have economic value for the audience. This study aims to determine the coverage and condition of coral reefs in the Pahawang area as a tourist attraction and identify the diversity of organisms within. This study used the Line Intercept Transect (LIT) method by dividing the plot of the observation area by six (6) identification points for data collection. Measurement data on each line transect, furthermore the closing value is calculated. The number of species was calculated by determining the value of the invertebrate diversity index. The results showed that the length of coral cover on Pahawang Island was 80.3% which lies in the “very good” category. Most of the corals have experienced bleaching which suggests that the corals are not in healthy condition. Species diversity shows that eleven (11) species reside in the Pahawang Island coral reef. The Shanon-Wiener diversity index value (H') 1.87 is categorized at the medium level. Therefore, the condition of coral cover on Pahawang Besar Island is still in the very good category.
