Abstract

Background: The integration of international law principles into domestic legal systems is a complex and often contentious process. In Indonesia, the implementation of international law principles in national law involves balancing domestic legal norms with the obligations arising from international treaties and conventions. While Indonesia has ratified numerous international agreements, the actual incorporation of these principles into national law remains inconsistent and subject to various interpretations. The tension between adherence to international norms and the sovereignty of national law presents a unique challenge in the application of international law principles within the Indonesian context. Objective: This study aims to examine how international law principles are implemented in Indonesian national law, focusing on the mechanisms, challenges, and effectiveness of their integration. The research seeks to identify key areas where international law is applied or disregarded in Indonesian legal practice and to provide recommendations for improving alignment with international standards. Method: A qualitative research approach was used, combining legal document analysis, case studies, and interviews with legal scholars, policymakers, and practitioners. This allowed for a comprehensive assessment of the practical application of international law principles in Indonesia’s legal system. Results: The study found that while Indonesia incorporates international law principles in specific areas, such as human rights and environmental law, there is often resistance or inconsistency in their implementation, particularly in areas that conflict with national interests. Conclusion: To enhance the effectiveness of implementing international law principles, this study recommends greater institutional cooperation, clearer legal frameworks, and the establishment of stronger enforcement mechanisms.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the efficiency of beef cattle supply chain management in Jember Regency during and after the Eid al-Adha period, and to evaluate the role of digital marketing in improving distribution. The research was conducted in July 2024 using a survey method with purposive sampling for selecting farmers and snowball sampling for marketing institutions. The results showed three marketing patterns: Pattern I (Producers directly to consumers using the “SAPI SIP” digital platform), Pattern II (Producers – Wholesalers – Agents outside the city/province), and Pattern III (Producers – Wholesalers – Religious institutions – Consumers). The most efficient marketing pattern during the Eid al-Adha period was Pattern I, with the highest farmer price share: 95.24% for male cattle and 94.29% for female cattle. This was due to the direct-to-consumer approach via digital marketing, which reduced intermediaries and transaction costs. After Eid al-Adha, Pattern I remained the most efficient for male cattle (88.00%), while Pattern III showed slightly higher efficiency for female cattle (90.17%) due to strong institutional buyer networks. These findings indicate that digital marketing can significantly improve supply chain efficiency and enhance farmer welfare, especially during seasonal demand surges.

Abstract

Musculoskeletal disorders are occupational diseases that are often suffered by workers. Symptoms can include pain, swelling and even numbness. Cardiopulmonary endurance also plays an important role in the occurrence of musculoskeletal disorders. The heavier a job, the more oxygen the body needs to oxidize and the more blood flow carries oxygen. In people with heavy workloads, the heart's pumping activity changes, so that when the person works, oxygen transport to the muscles is disrupted. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between workload and musculoskeletal complaints in workers at PT. Kerta Rajasa Raya Sidoarjo. Design: The research design used a cross-sectional approach. The number of samples obtained was 43 respondents in 2 work divisions, namely the extruder division and ABM. Respondents' workload was measured based on cardiovascular load (CVL) and musculoskeletal complaints were measured using the Nordic Body Map (NBM). Results: The results of the Pearson correlation test, obtained a p value = 0.002 where p <0.05. From the results of the statistical test, it was stated that there is a positive relationship between workload and musculoskeletal complaints. Conclusions: Based on the results of the study, it is recommended that companies reduce the workload so that it can reduce the occurrence of musculoskeletal disorders.

Abstract

Kawah Putih is managed by Perum Perhutani Unit III Jawa Barat dan Banten with protected forest status as well as a tourist area in the form of the Kawah Putih Tourism Area (WWNP). The main attraction is the white crater as a mountain caldera from the eruption of Mount Patuha at an altitude of 2400 meters above sea level. This area is a mountainous tropical rainforest remaining on the island of Java so it is special in relation to biodiversity data including birds. Therefore, this study aims to analyze bird diversity in WWNP and its surroundings. The research was carried out in July 2022 using the MacKinnon list and index point abundance. Data was analyzed qualitatively, namely the status of bird species and quantitatively by calculating species diversity index (H') and species evenness (E). The richness of bird was found to be 67 species from 29 families and seven orders. There are 10 species of birds protected by the Indonesian Government and two types are included in IUCN threathened species. All species are resident, there are no migrant species. Eight species are endemic to Java and three species are endemic to Java-Bali. Some species are typical mountain birds. Comparison with previous research shows that 25 species were recorded again, 24 were not recorded again, and 42 species were new records. The H' value obtained is included in the high diversity category, namely 3.73, as well as the E value, which is in the high evenness category, namely 0.89.

Abstract

This study presents a method to optimize water color classification based on the Forel-Ule scale using a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). The original 21-class system presents challenges such as high computational complexity, overlapping spectral characteristics, and class imbalance. A class reduction approach is proposed to group similar spectral categories into three ecologically meaningful classes: oligotrophic (clear blue), mesotrophic (greenish), and eutrophic (brownish). Using a dataset of 3,018 labeled water body images from EyeOnWater and implementing a CNN architecture trained on both the original and the reduced class schemes, the experimental results show that the reduced 3-class model achieved significantly higher accuracy (94.0%) compared to the original 21-class model (44.3%). These findings demonstrate that class reduction improves classification robustness, simplifies interpretation, and enhances practicality for real-world environmental monitoring.

Abstract

HIGHLIGHTS Postpartum maternal mortality demonstrates associations with determinants including parity, place of residence, proficiency in the Indonesian language, socioeconomic status or wealth index, type of delivery attendant, and place of childbirth. Proficiency in the Indonesian language constitutes the most dominant factor, plausibly indicating inequalities in healthcare access, levels of health literacy, and conditions of geographic or social marginalization.   ABSTRACT Objective: This study utilized data from the Indonesia Demographic Health Survey (IDHS) 2020 to examine the relationship between postpartum maternal mortality and several determinants, including maternal, socioeconomic, and healthcare-related factors in Papua Province. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional design with a quantitative analytical framework was applied, drawing on secondary data from IDHS 2020. The sample comprised 14,802 women aged 15–49 years. Data were analyzed through a simple logistic regression test for bivariate analysis with a 95% confidence level (a = 0.05). Subsequently, multivariate multiple logistic regression analysis was conducted on variables with a p-value of less than 0.25. Results: Findings demonstrated that all variables (parity p<0.001 AOR=0.533 95% CI 0.375–0.758; place of residence p=0.001 AOR=2.526 95% CI 1.438–4.436; proficiency in Indonesian language p<0.001 AOR=0.039 95% CI 0.031–0.050; delivery attendant and place of birth p<0.001 AOR=0.118 95% CI 0.142–0.249, whereas wealth index status p=0.972 AOR=1.010 95% CI 0.565–1.806) showed a significant negative association with postpartum maternal mortality (p<0.05), except for the wealth index. The strongest association, with an odds ratio (OR) of 0.039, was identified in Indonesian language proficiency, indicating a 25.64-fold increase. Conclusion: The findings provide a crucial evidence base for the development of policies and interventions aimed at lowering postpartum maternal mortality in Papua Province. Proficiency in the Indonesian language emerged as the most influential factor, underscoring the potential for targeted interventions and improved healthcare outcomes.
