Abstract

Abstract

Based on Presidential Instruction Number 7 of 2014 concerning the implementation of the Family Welfare Savings Program, the Smart Indonesia Program, and the Healthy Indonesia Program as part of efforts to build productive families, this research aims to evaluate the implementation of the Smart Indonesia Program policy at all levels of elementary and junior high schools in Bandar Lampung City. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach. The results of the study show that the implementation of the Smart Indonesia Program policy, particularly in the aspect of communication in the form of socialization between the Education Office and the schools, has been quite effective. However, there are still communication obstacles, namely that some parents have not understood the benefits and procedures for applying for the aid. From the perspective of resources, both the workforce and supporting facilities at the Education Office are considered adequate. In terms of disposition, the implementation of the duties and roles of the office and schools in this program has been carried out well. to the recipients of aid in Bandar Lampung City. Nevertheless, the school's supervision of students' use of aid funds is still less than optimal, as the school does not know exactly how those funds are used. Meanwhile, from a bureaucratic structure perspective, the implementation of the Smart Indonesia Program policy has been carried out, but schools still face challenges in identifying students who truly need this program.

Abstract

Background: Prevention efforts through the One House One Larvae Monitoring, which is a government program in Indonesia to monitor and control the spread of dengue fever (DBD). The movement has not been running optimally, as indicated by the increasing number of cases year by year. Several factors, such as knowledge, attitude, the role of health workers, and the presence of mosquito larvae monitor cadres, are suspected to influence the implementation of this movement. This study aims to identify the factors associated with the implementation of the One House One Larvae Monitoring Movement activities for dengue fever prevention in Pesisir Barat Regency, Indonesia in 2025. Methods: This study is a quantitative, cross-sectional study, employing a simple random sampling technique. The research subjects were heads of households while the study variables included knowledge, attitude, the role of health workers, mosquito larvae monitor cadres, and the implementation of One House One Larvae Monitoring. The research was conducted from March 4 to March 25, 2025. Data analysis was performed using multiple logistic regression. Results: The results of the study indicate a significant relationship between knowledge (p = 0.000), attitude (p = 0.000), the role of health workers (p = 0.005), and mosquito larvae monitor cadres or Jumantik cadre (p = 0.007) with the implementation of One House One Larvae Monitoring. The dominant factor influencing the implementation of this movement is knowledge, with an Exp(B) value of 6.986. Conclusions: It is recommended that the local government and health workers be more active in conducting socialization and empowering mosquito larvae monitor cadres, as well as encouraging active community involvement in the implementation of the One House One Larvae Monitor Movement as a sustainable effort to prevent dengue fever.

Abstract

The supplementary feeding program (PMT) is a crucial nutritional intervention aimed at improving toddlers' nutritional status and meeting their dietary needs. Patin fish, a local food commodity from Riau, has potential for development into attractive processed food, such as dim sum. This study aimed to evaluate the acceptability and protein content of patin fish dim sum with red bean flour substitution. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was used, comprising one control (100% patin) and three treatments with varying patin fish and red bean flour ratios: 95%:5%, 90%:10%, and 85%:15%. Sensory evaluation was conducted with 30 panelists and analyzed using the Kruskal-Wallis test, followed by the Mann-Whitney test if significant differences were found. The results showed a significant difference in color (p-value=0,002), while taste (p-value=0,445), aroma (p-value=0,694), and texture (p-value=0,341) showed no significant differences. The most preferred formulation was the control (without red bean flour). However, the formulation with 10% substitution (F2) had the highest protein content at 9.45%, equivalent to 9,45 grams per 100 grams of product. With this level of protein, the patin dim sum qualifies as a high-protein food product. This innovation highlights the potential of locally sourced, nutritious food for children and supports the success of supplementary feeding programs in regions like Riau that rely on local resources.

Abstract

Abstract

The prevalence of obesity in Pekanbaru City among adolescents aged 16-18 years in 2018 was 4.87%. Obesity in adolescents is mainly caused by excessive food intake. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of energy intake and macronutrient intake to the incidence of obesity in SMA Negeri 2 Pekanbaru. This type of research is descriptive analytic research with cross-sectional design. The research sample was 44 respondents obtained using stratified random sampling technique. Data collection used food recall questionnaires and anthropometric measurements. Data analysis used the spearman correlation test. The results showed that 29.5% of respondents were obese, 56.8% had excess energy intake, 75% had excess protein intake, 72.7% had excess fat intake, and 56.8% had excess carbohydrate intake. The results of bivariate analysis showed that there was no relationship between energy intake (p=0.068), protein intake (p=0.085), fat intake (0.081), and carbohydrate intake (0.068) with the incidence of obesity in adolescents. It is expected that health workers provide education about balanced nutrition to students so that optimal nutritional status for adolescents can be realized.

Abstract

In the context of science learning, the application of a contextual approach becomes increasingly relevant when learning themes are integrated with public health issues, one of which is Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM), which has become a serious concern in recent years both nationally and globally. This study aims to develop and test the effectiveness of case study-based educational media on Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in science learning at SMA Negeri 1 Luwuk, Banggai Regency, Central Sulawesi. The media was designed using a contextual learning approach (Contextual Teaching and Learning/CTL) and packaged in the form of interactive visual narratives relevant to the lives of adolescents. The study used the Research and Development (R&D) method with grade XI students as subjects and involved the principal and science teachers as supporting data sources. The instruments used included validation sheets, pretest–posttest questions, and interview and observation guidelines. The validation results showed the media was categorized as very feasible. Limited trials showed a significant increase in student learning outcomes, with a gain value of 0.57 (medium–high category). In addition, students showed emotional involvement and increased awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle. Teachers and the principal responded positively to the media's usefulness in supporting active and meaningful learning.

Abstract

Background: Hypertension, often referred to as a “silent killer,” is a major health problem because it frequently presents without symptoms. Poor adherence to antihypertensive treatment can lead to uncontrolled blood pressure, resulting in complications and damage to vital organs. This study aimed to identify factors associated with treatment compliance among hypertension patients in Pesisir Barat Regency in 2025. Methods: This quantitative research employed a cross-sectional design with data collected through questionnaires. The study involved hypertension patients aged 45–70 years and was conducted from February 20 to March 22, 2025. Data included demographic characteristics and factors related to treatment compliance. Bivariate analysis was conducted using the chi-square test, while multivariate analysis was performed using multiple logistic regression. Results: The duration of hypertension was not significantly associated with treatment compliance (p = 0.080). In contrast, significant associations were found with knowledge about hypertension (p = 0.000), motivation to seek treatment (p = 0.000), family support (p = 0.002), role of health workers (p = 0.000), accessibility of health services (p = 0.001), family history of hypertension (p = 0.008), and treatment history (p = 0.005). Conclusion: Several factors were identified as significantly influencing treatment compliance, with the role of health workers emerging as the most dominant factor. Strengthening the role of health workers, alongside family-based interventions and improved access to health services, is recommended to enhance treatment compliance among hypertension patients.
