Abstract

This study examines in depth the contribution of income taxpayer compliance to the sustainability of national tax revenue in Indonesia in the context of the self-assessment system. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study analyzes the determinants of compliance, such as tax understanding, tax authority service quality, perceived system fairness, and the effectiveness of tax socialization. The results show that increasing compliance not only has a direct impact on optimizing state revenue, but also strengthens public trust in the government and supports sustainable economic development. Digital innovations such as e-filing and e-SPT are proven to accelerate the reporting process and expand the tax base, thus becoming a strategic element in building a tax-aware culture. This research emphasizes the importance of an educative approach and inclusive public services to create a fair, efficient, and sustainable tax system.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of religious moderation in Bedono Village, Semarang Regency, as a response to religious diversity that has the potential to cause social conflicts. This study aims to analyze the practice of religious moderation, identify supporting and inhibiting factors, and examine its impact on the social life of the community. The research method used is a qualitative approach with case studies, involving observation, in-depth interviews with religious leaders, communities, and documentation studies. The results of the study show that religious moderation in Bedono Village is realized through tolerance, interfaith mutual cooperation, inclusive education, and the celebration of common traditions that strengthen social cohesion. Key supporting factors include inclusive local traditions, education moderation in schools, the active role of youth organizations, community awareness, and village government support. On the other hand, inhibiting factors include a decrease in common traditions, lack of moderation materials in schools, inactivity of youth organizations, low public awareness, and lack of government policies. The positive impact of religious moderation can be seen in increasing tolerance, conflict prevention, strengthening bridges between communities, protecting minority rights, and creating harmony and social peace in society.

Abstract

This study critically examines the role of the Muhammadiyah Student Association (Ikatan Mahasiswa Muhammadiyah—IMM) in preparing functional cadres for student organizations (Ormawa) at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS). As an autonomous student wing of Muhammadiyah, IMM holds a strategic mandate in leadership development—not only for its internal structure but also to support the broader ecosystem of student leadership within the university. Employing a descriptive approach with a mixed-methods design, the study integrates basic quantitative analysis through percentage-based calculations and qualitative analysis using the Miles and Huberman model, which involves data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and document analysis. The findings reveal that in 2022, IMM’s contribution to the formation of functional cadres in Ormawa accounted for only 4% of the total leadership demand, indicating a significant gap between the organization’s idealized role and its actual implementation. Key challenges identified include low student participation in the Darul Arqam Dasar (DAD) training program and insufficient cadre readiness in terms of ideological understanding and leadership capacity. The study recommends a comprehensive strengthening of cadre development strategies—both in quality and quantity—to enhance IMM’s contribution to student leadership sustainability at UMS

Abstract

Factual problems in the field are that there are still some MSMEs who upload product photos with poor lighting, inappropriate backgrounds, and without considering design aesthetics and visual identity. This condition indicates the need for educational intervention in the form of training that can help business actors understand the importance of product design as well as basic technical skills such as taking product photos, using simple design applications, and effective visual design principles. The method used in this community service activity is a participatory educational approach through training activities and direct practice focused on improving participants' skills in designing and presenting products visually for digital marketing purposes. The results of the implementation of this community service activity identified that increasing the capacity of MSMEs in designing and presenting products more attractively on e-commerce platforms. An important lesson from this activity is that the digitalization of MSMEs does not always have to start from complex technological aspects, but can start from simple things but have a big impact, such as improving the visual quality of the product. Attractive product design can be an entry point to building a professional business presence in the digital world.

Abstract

Introduction: Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) continues to be a serious public health issue in Indonesia, including in Waru Village, Mranggen District, Demak Regency, where a rise in cases was recorded in 2024. Traditional prevention efforts such as the 3M campaign (draining, covering, and burying) and fogging have not been fully effective in reducing case numbers. This community engagement program aimed to enhance DHF prevention efforts by combining health education with the ecological use of home yards through the cultivation of mosquito-repellent plants. Method: The program was conducted by the KKN team from UIN Walisongo Semarang using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, which involved active collaboration with PKK cadres and local residents. The implementation consisted of three stages: preparation, core activities (education and planting), and post-activity evaluation. Data were collected through observations, interviews, documentation, and reflective discussions with the community. Results: showed increased public awareness and participation in environmental hygiene practices. Residents expressed a better understanding of natural mosquito control methods and began planting and maintaining useful plants such as aloe vera (Aloe barbadensis), lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus), and citrus (Citrus sinensis) in their yards. Interviews revealed positive behavioral changes and a collective commitment to sustaining these efforts. Conclusion: this program demonstrates that integrating health education with participatory environmental action can effectively strengthen community-based DHF prevention strategies and promote long-term behavioral change.

Abstract

Introduction: Stunting remains a serious public health issue in Indonesia, particularly in rural areas. Objective: This community service activity aims to examine and analyze the development of stunting cases in Waru Village, Mranggen Subdistrict, Demak Regency. One of the main contributing factors to stunting is the lack of knowledge and self-confidence among mothers of toddlers, which leads many of them to avoid visiting the local health post (posyandu). Method: The approach used in this activity is the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, involving observation, socialization, training on stunting and balanced nutrition, as well as facilitating two-way dialogue with posyandu cadres, midwives, and mothers of toddlers. Result: The results showed a decrease in stunting cases, marked by an increase in the mothers' self-confidence, knowledge, and awareness of the importance of proper nutrition and parenting practices. Conclusion: The success of this program shows that a direct, participatory, and diverse communication approach is able to provide education on nutrition and early prevention of stunting. Counseling that is carried out consistently and touches on various aspects of community life has proven effective in changing the mindset and behavior of parents, especially in terms of providing nutritional intake, monitoring child growth and development, and utilizing health services available in the village.

Abstract

The issue of household waste management remains a significant challenge in society, including in Bongkok Village, Paseh Subdistrict, Sumedang Regency. Low awareness and limited utilization of waste often lead to environmental pollution and potential health problems. Through the Community Service Program Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Bandung, Group 27 conducted educational and training activities for the community, especially housewives, on managing used cooking oil (minyak jelantah) and organic waste by applying the 3R concept (reduce, reuse, recycle). The innovation introduced includes processing household waste into aromatherapy candles made from used cooking oil, providing economic value while being environmentally friendly. Meanwhile, organic waste is processed into compost and liquid fertilizer using the stacked bucket method (ember tumpuk). This program aims to improve the community’s knowledge, skills, and awareness of responsible waste management while offering practical solutions to reduce environmental pollution. The results show an increase in community enthusiasm and understanding of the importance of proper household waste management. It is expected that, through this activity, the community will become more independent and actively contribute to creating a cleaner, healthier, and more productive environment.
