Abstract

Various problems that arise are caused by the school quality zoning system policy, low student learning motivation, and low student competence. The purpose of this study is to analyse the problems/inhibiting factors of the zoning system. This study uses the sequential mixed methods method, especially the sequential explanatory strategy. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the advantages of the zoning system are cheaper, such as cheaper student transportation costs to school, no discrimination against favourite schools, and encouraging teachers to be more creative in designing learning that is in accordance with student conditions, while the problems and supporters of the implementation of the zoning system in accepting new students. Some implications and recommendations obtained from this study. First, for the central government, considering that the competition for prospective students with the zoning system is getting tighter, the Central Government must adjust the existing provisions by reducing the percentage of the zoning system path and increasing the percentage of the achievement path. Second, the Provincial Government in determining the zone does not only refer to the distance between home and school but also needs to optimize the involvement of community leaders in determining the zone of each school.

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in Bahasa Indonesia instruction for fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 20 Kota Bengkulu. Drawing on the urgent need to recover learning losses and adapt to post-pandemic educational reforms, the research employed a qualitative field-based design to capture teacher and school leader perspectives through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and documentation analysis. The results indicate that the curriculum was implemented through three main stages planning, classroom practice, and assessment supported by the Merdeka Belajar digital platform, collaborative teacher working groups, and strong teacher motivation, but challenged by limited experience and insufficient training in adapting to a new subject-based structure. The discussion situates these findings within broader literature, highlighting how teacher autonomy, professional collaboration, and digital resources facilitate reform, while underscoring the persistent challenges of readiness and capacity-building in Indonesian primary schools. This study contributes novelty by providing localized empirical evidence from Bengkulu, an underrepresented region, thereby expanding understanding of how national policies are enacted in diverse contexts. The findings imply that strengthening teacher professional development, enhancing collaborative learning communities, and tailoring digital resources are essential strategies for ensuring the success of curriculum reform and its translation into meaningful student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The province of Bangka Belitung is known as one of the regions with significantly high rated early marriage. This study is focused on the development of Payung village government collaboration with Religious Affair Office in reducing the number of early marriages. this research adopts qualitative method and apply historiography-phenomenology approach which includes four phases: heuristic, verification or source evaluation, interpretation, and historiography. The research location is Payung village, South Bangka. The research includes in-depth interview with the village head, Village Consultative Body, and the head of Religious Affairs Office. The research results are realized in three village regulations. They are Village Regulation Number 2 of 2020 concerning villages that support children's rights, Village Regulation Number 3 of 2020 concerning child protection, and Village Regulation Number 141 of 2022 concerning child-friendly village development. Other than that, innovations such as refusion of early marriage recommendation letter, regular counseling at schools regarding early marriage and the consequences, a ban on using village facilities for early marriage ceremonies, and a policy for village officials not to attend early marriages, are also implemented. These new policies have proven effective in reducing the rate of early marriage. Researchers hope that these innovations can be used as models by other villages or regions in the efforts to reduce the rate of early marriage.

Abstract

The Indonesian Pencak Silat Association (IPSI) Central Lampung Branch is an organization that plays an important role in developing and preserving pencak silat at the regional level. This study focuses on revealing how IPSI Central Lampung trains athletes using a descriptive evaluative method through the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, and Product) model approach. The research population involved IPSI administrators, coaches, and pencak silat athletes who are active in coaching activities. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, which involves selecting informants who are considered to have in-depth and relevant knowledge of the research problem, supplemented by snowball sampling, in which the initial informants recommend other individuals who can be the next data sources. Data analysis shows that the role of the government, both in the form of moral and material support, is crucial to the development of athletes' achievements, especially in pencak silat, which requires serious attention in terms of continuous coaching. However, the results of the study also confirm that the coaching program run by IPSI Central Lampung is still not fully systematic, periodic, and structured, thus potentially hindering the achievement of optimal performance. Therefore, concrete efforts are needed to improve the quality of coaching, including through continuous program planning, improving the competence of coaches, and providing adequate facilities and infrastructure. With a more focused strategy and cross-sector support, the process of coaching pencak silat athletes in Central Lampung is expected to produce athletes who excel at the regional and national levels.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of differentiated instruction within the Merdeka Curriculum in mathematics learning at junior high schools in Bima Regency, Indonesia. A qualitative approach was employed, using in-depth interviews with teachers and school principals as the primary data collection technique. The findings reveal that teachers' understanding of differentiated instruction remains varied, with the majority focusing on content differentiation, while process differentiation is still limited, and product differentiation is barely implemented. The main challenges identified include limited instructional time, inadequate facilities, administrative burdens, and insufficient training. Nevertheless, even simple applications of differentiation were found to increase student participation, reduce achievement gaps, and foster learning motivation. These results highlight the positive prospects of differentiated instruction as a strategic approach to improving the quality of mathematics education, provided that teacher capacity is strengthened and supported by school policies as well as contextualized regional education policies. This study contributes to the discourse on inclusive teaching practices and offers recommendations for policy development tailored to local educational needs. Keywords: Differentiated Instruction; Merdeka Curriculum; Mathematics; Inclusive Educatio
