Abstract

This research is motivated by the difference between the idealism and reality of religion in life. Religion idealistically teaches about goodness, peace, and love, which is the strength that enables it to encourage its adherents to fight for love, humanity, peace, and unity in humanising humanity. However, in reality, religion has become one of the instruments that trigger violence, both verbally and physically, as well as prolonged conflict. The purpose of this research is to provide an insight into the philosophical foundation from the perspective of William James's pragmatism in developing moderate behaviour in a multicultural society. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, grounded in library research. The results of this research indicate that William James's pragmatist philosophy emphasises the utility of religion for humans, specifically in improving their moral character. If it is not beneficial, then it should be left alone. William James's pragmatist philosophy holds that every religion possesses a sacredness derived from the divine, which must be treated with mutual respect and appreciation for existing differences. Religious moderation is a concrete form of religious practice that is moderate in confronting religious radicalism, which threatens the very existence of religion and also impacts social, national, and state life. William James's pragmatic philosophy serves as the philosophical foundation for fostering religious moderation amidst religious pluralism in Indonesia, emphasising the effectiveness of truth that is not merely theoretical but also real in its application. Therefore, religious individuals must practice their faith wisely and express their beliefs without relying on extremism and narrow, dogmatic attitudes.

Abstract

The high prevalence of quiet quitting (QQ) among Generation Z (a global average of 59%, with the figure in Indonesia being even higher, reaching 67.84%) indicates a profound problem within the current work industry. Particularly in the high-pressure financial sector, Gen Z is suspected to be highly susceptible to toxic work environment (TWE) and job insecurity (JI) as triggers for QQ. Therefore, this study aims to explore the moderating effects of organizational career growth (OCG) and grit on QQ’s relationship with TWE and JI, based on the Conservation of Resources Theory and using a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of 107 Gen Z employees in the financial sector. Data analysis was performed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The results demonstrate that TWE and JI have a positive and significant effect on QQ. OCG and grit significantly weaken the effect of TWE on QQ, but do not significantly moderate the effect of JI. These findings serve as a reference for organizations to anticipate QQ among Gen Z by providing clear career development paths, grit training programs, and a stable work environment through long-term contracts and open dialogue regarding company sustainability.

Abstract

Speech delay in children is a communication development disorder that can significantly affect family dynamics. This study aims to explore the psychological experiences of parents of children with speech delay, as well as the coping mechanisms they apply. Using a qualitative literature review and phenomenological perspective, this study analyzes various scientific sources to understand the psychological impact of speech delay on parents and families. The results show that parents often experience higher levels of stress, anxiety, and depression compared to parents of normally developing children. Social stigma and cultural pressure also contribute to feelings of isolation and helplessness. Effective coping mechanisms, such as social support and involvement in therapy, can help parents overcome these challenges. This study recommends the development of comprehensive and interdisciplinary psychological support programs, as well as increased public awareness to reduce stigma. In addition, it is important to create strong social support networks for families, including support groups and digital platforms. By understanding parents' experiences and the factors that influence their coping mechanisms, this study is expected to contribute to the development of better interventions and support the psychological well-being of families facing speech delays.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between intrinsic motivation and work discipline among employees of PT Family Aurora Nusantara, a company operating in the food and beverage (FnB) sector. Using a quantitative descriptive approach, data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires from a total sample of 43 employees. The analysis revealed that intrinsic motivation positively and significantly influences work discipline, contributing 24.9% (R² = 0.249), with the remaining variance explained by other factors outside this study. A regression coefficient of 0.595 indicates that a one-unit increase in intrinsic motivation corresponds to a 0.595-unit increase in work discipline. The data also highlighted that higher levels of work discipline are correlated with adherence to company regulations and enhanced employee responsibility. This study emphasizes the crucial role of intrinsic motivation in fostering work discipline within the FnB sector. Companies are recommended to implement strategies such as rewards, training, and individual counseling to enhance intrinsic motivation, thereby improving operational effectiveness and employee well-being.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) in increasing anxiety towards social media in Generation Z. FOMO, which is defined as an excessive fear of missing out on experiences or information felt by others, is one of the significant factors influencing the digital behavior of the younger generation. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological study method to explore in depth the experiences and perceptions of Generation Z related to Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) and its impact on anxiety in using social media. The results showed that Generation Z has a high level of FOMO, with the majority of respondents reporting excessive use of social media to follow trends, friends' activities, and viral content. This high FOMO has been shown to be positively correlated with increased anxiety, which includes feelings of excessive anxiety, difficulty focusing, and dependence on social validation through social media. These findings confirm that FOMO is a significant psychological challenge for Generation Z in the digital era. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve digital literacy, develop time management strategies in using social media, and create awareness about the impact of FOMO on mental health. This study makes an important contribution to understanding the impact of social media on Generation Z and provides a basis for more effective interventions.

Abstract

The background to this research is based on the fact that the Republic of Indonesia Police organisation views the existence of women and children as important. This is demonstrated by forming the Directorate of Women and Children Services (PPA). Empirically, women's leadership in all processes positively impacts organisational performance. For this reason, what is of concern in this research is women's leadership as an answer to the complexity of the East Java Regional Police's PPA work. This research aims to urgently carry it out considering the high number of PPA cases in the East Java Regional Police to test the role of middle managers' capabilities in shaping performance through teamwork with gender leadership mechanisms. The methodology used is quantitative research with a survey approach using census techniques. The results of testing the interaction of leader gender as a moderator variable are shown by an interaction coefficient value of -0.189, with a p-value of 0.003 <0.05. Thus it can be said that leader gender influences the magnitude of the influence of middle managers' managerial ability (MMC) on teamwork (TMW). The implementation of the research results can be conveyed that the smaller the leader's gender (female leader), the stronger the influence of middle manager capabilities on teamwork.
