Abstract

This research aims to analyze the integration of Ki Hadjar Dewantara’s philosophical thoughts into the development of school principals’ entrepreneurial competencies within the context of modern education. In an era of global disruption, school principals are required to transcend traditional administrative roles, evolving into independent innovators capable of calculated risk-taking. However, contemporary entrepreneurial models often risk drifting toward pure commercialization. This study employs a qualitative library research method, utilizing content analysis to examine the primary works of Ki Hadjar Dewantara alongside contemporary educational management literature. The findings indicate that school principals’ entrepreneurial competence is deeply rooted in the concept of “Independence” (Kemandirian) and the “Trikon” principles (Continuity, Convergence, and Concentricity). The entrepreneurial spirit, through Dewantara’s lens, is manifested as an innovative “Pamong” leadership style that balances modernization with cultural roots and student-centered interests. Furthermore, the Niteni, Nirokke, Nambah (3-N) strategy serves as a practical framework for sustainable institutional innovation. This study concludes that the synthesis of modern management and local wisdom produces a humanistic entrepreneurial leadership model, enabling school organizational independence while preserving the core identity of national education.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative force in higher and vocational education, yet its rapid adoption often outpaces existing legal and institutional frameworks. This study investigates how Indonesia’s regulatory landscape supports the integration of AI in teaching and learning at Politeknik Penerbangan Makassar (Poltekbang Makassar), and identifies the legal, ethical, and governance challenges shaping responsible innovation. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, the research combines document analysis of key national policies (such as the National Education System Law 2003, Presidential Regulation No. 95/2018, and the National AI Strategy 2020–2045) with semi-structured interviews involving five lecturers and two academic policymakers. Data were analyzed thematically. The results reveal that while Indonesia’s legal foundations implicitly support AI adoption through broader digital transformation policies, significant regulatory gaps persist, particularly concerning algorithmic transparency, accountability, and data privacy. Institutional policies at Poltekbang Makassar demonstrate readiness for technological innovation but lack comprehensive AI governance mechanisms. The study proposes a multi-level regulatory model encompassing national policy formulation, sectoral alignment within vocational standards, and internal institutional governance frameworks to ensure accountability, fairness, and compliance. These findings contribute to the development of an Institutional AI Governance Framework based on principles of accountability, transparency, and compliance with the Personal Data Protection Law, offering a practical roadmap for policymakers and educational leaders in Indonesia’s vocational sector. Keywords: Artificial Intelligence (AI), AI Governance, Vocational Education, Poltekbang Makassar, Algorithmic Accountability

Abstract

PARTICIPATORY LEADERSHIP MANAGEMENT OF THE MADRASAH PRINCIPAL AS A STRATEGIC APPROACH TO STRENGTHENING EDUCATIONAL QUALITY AT MTS MATHALIBUL HUDA MLONGGOImproving the quality of education at the Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) level has become a strategic urgency amid increasing demands for accountability, curriculum dynamics, and the need to strengthen teacher professionalism. Many educational institutions continue to face challenges such as disparities in competence, weak collaborative culture, and imbalanced roles in decision-making processes. In this context, MTs Mathalibul Huda Mlonggo demonstrates unique characteristics, including a strong culture of deliberation (musyawarah), collective participation, and open communication among the principal, teachers, and stakeholders. These conditions position the madrasah as an intriguing case for an in-depth examination of participative leadership practices. This study aims to analyze how participative leadership management is formulated, implemented, and contributes to improving educational quality. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis, and were subsequently analyzed using an interactive model. The findings indicate that teacher involvement in decision-making, dialogic supervision systems, a collaborative culture, and participation-based planning effectively enhance instructional quality, program consistency, and governance accountability. The study concludes that participative leadership serves as an effective strategy for madrasahs to sustainably improve educational quality and may be replicated by other institutions with similar characteristics.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the competence of elementary school teachers in teaching Javanese script through training and mentoring activities in Sarongan Village, Banyuwangi. The program was motivated by the limited mastery of Javanese script among teachers, the lack of effective teaching methods, and the declining interest of students in learning traditional scripts. The implementation consisted of two main stages: (1) theoretical and practical sessions delivered face-to-face, covering Javanese script writing and teaching techniques, and (2) mentoring sessions conducted online to guide teachers in applying the knowledge directly in their classrooms. The methods used included lectures, drills, assignments, discussions, and performance-based assessments. The results showed that teachers’ understanding and teaching skills improved significantly, with 70% of participants being able to conduct Javanese script lessons according to proper writing rules. Participants’ responses indicated high satisfaction and increased motivation to integrate Javanese script into their teaching practices. The program not only strengthened the teachers’ capacity but also contributed to the preservation of local cultural heritage in formal education. The output of this program included a training video, media publications, an article, and an Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) registration. These results highlight the importance of continuous capacity building for teachers in remote areas to ensure sustainable cultural education and community empowerment.

Abstract

Collaboration is a key element in improving organizational effectiveness and competitiveness. However, an individual's ability to collaborate does not develop spontaneously; rather, it is influenced by leadership styles that direct, motivate, and create a work environment that supports positive interactions. This study aims to illustrate the role of leadership styles in transforming individuals into high-performing teams. Secondary data were collected from relevant scientific articles, academic books, and policy documents, then analyzed thematically to obtain a conceptual and empirical synthesis. The results of the study indicate that transformational and participatory leadership have the most significant influence on the formation of effective collaboration, primarily through increased trust, open communication, and a sense of shared responsibility. These findings confirm that leadership style not only influences individual behavior but also determines the quality of collaboration and overall team performance. Therefore, organizations need to develop more humanistic, adaptive, and inclusive leadership styles to encourage the creation of high-performing teams.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the Senayan Library Management System (SLiMS) as a form of library automation in SMA Negeri 12 Sinjai and analyzes its implications for service efficiency, information accessibility, collection management, and user satisfaction. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, documentation, and focus group discussions involving librarians, teachers, and students. The findings indicate that SLiMS contributes to faster service transactions, improved access to collections through OPAC, more systematic collection management, and higher levels of user satisfaction. Theoretically, this study extends the discourse on library automation by demonstrating that the success of automation in school libraries is not only determined by technological availability but also by user acceptance and institutional readiness. However, this study is limited to a single school context and relies primarily on qualitative data, which may restrict the generalizability of the findings. Future studies are encouraged to involve multiple sites and integrate quantitative measurements to strengthen comparative analysis.

Abstract

This study synthesizes scholarly evidence on the implementation of digital technologies in the preparation of School Work Plans (Rencana Kerja Sekolah/RKS) as strategic and operational planning instruments that guide programmes, budgeting, and school performance monitoring. Although information systems, data dashboards, and collaborative platforms are increasingly adopted in educational administration, knowledge about how these technologies enhance the quality of school planning remains fragmented. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted following PRISMA 2020. Literature was searched in Scopus, Web of Science, ERIC, and ScienceDirect/Google Scholar using keywords related to school development plan, school improvement planning, management information system, dashboard, and digital budgeting (2015–2025). After de-duplication, title/abstract screening, full-text assessment, and Quality Assessment (QA1–QA3), 15 studies were retained and analysed via thematic synthesis. Findings indicate five dominant technology clusters: (1) data infrastructures (EMIS/SMIS/SIS) for needs diagnosis and priority mapping; (2) analytics and dashboards for sense-making and target setting; (3) digital collaboration platforms that expand stakeholder participation in programme design; (4) e-budgeting/e-procurement systems that strengthen budgeting accountability; and (5) indicator-based monitoring and evaluation systems that accelerate reporting and feedback loops. Successful implementation depends on data literacy, digital leadership, technical support, data governance, and change management. This review proposes a 'Digital Data-Enabled RKS Cycle' to guide technology integration across the entire school planning process.
