Abstract

Technology is advancing rapidly and has become an integral part of various aspects of life, including education. The use of technology in learning presents numerous opportunities but is not without its challenges. This study aims to examine the opportunities and challenges associated with the use of technology in education. The research employs a literature review method by gathering relevant sources related to the opportunities and challenges of integrating technology into learning. The findings reveal that the opportunities brought by technology in education include expanded learning accessibility, interactive learning experiences, personalized education, and the development of digital skills. However, the challenges include unequal access to technology, teachers' skills in training and mastering technological tools, the risk of distractions and disruptions caused by technology, and issues related to security and privacy. Therefore, the use of technology should be balanced and cautious, combining traditional approaches with modern ones to create a holistic and effective learning experience. With this balanced approach, technology serves as a tool to enrich education rather than as a replacement that diminishes the essence of true learning.

Abstract

Introduction: Resting heart rate (RHR) is a key indicator of cardiovascular adaptation in athletes, reflecting physiological responses to intensive training. While decreased RHR typically signifies improved cardiovascular efficiency, variability in adaptation based on factors like training duration, intensity, and individual characteristics remains understudied in young athletes. Objectives: This study aims to analyze the resting heart rate (RHR) response in young athletes after participating in an intensive 15-week training program. Method: The study uses a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test approach. The sample consists of 15 male and female athletes who are members of the National Sports Design Program (DBON). Physiological variables were measured using digital devices: a heart rate monitor for RHR, a pulse oximeter for oxygen saturation (SpO₂), and a digital scale and height measurer to calculate body mass index (BMI). Measurements were taken before and after the training program. Data were analyzed descriptively (Mean ± SD), and statistical tests were performed using SPSS software. Normality was tested using the Shapiro-Wilk test, and homogeneity of variance was tested using Levene’s test. Paired t-tests were used to determine differences between pre- and post-values, while Pearson correlation tests were used to examine relationships between variables, with significance set at p < 0.05. Result: The results showed no significant changes in RHR, SpO₂, or BMI, and no significant relationship was found between RHR and SpO₂. Conclusion: This study recommends long-term physiological monitoring and the use of additional parameters to assess exercise adaptation more comprehensively.

Abstract

Conditions in the field show that the level of student learning in elementary school is still relatively low. This condition is caused by the conventional learning model that does not provide opportunities for students to explore, as a result of which students become accustomed to relying on teachers who hinder their independent development. This study aims to examine whether innovative learning models can significantly increase the learning independence of elementary school students. The method used in this study is a literature study. This approach is carried out by browsing various literature related to student learning independence using innovative learning models. The results of the literature review show that various innovative learning models such as Project Based Learning (PjBL), Problem Based Learning (PBL), Discovey Learning, Flipped Classroom, Self Organized Learning Environments (SOLE), technology-based learning models and IT Media such as Augmented Reality, Numbered Heads Together, game-based learning models such as LEGO and Mission X, inquiry and problem-based learning models, roleplay models  and RADEC models are consistently effective in increasing student learning independence at various levels of education, especially in elementary schools.

Abstract

Differentiated learning is a strategy that focuses on adjusting subject matter, teaching methods, and assessments to better suit the individual needs, abilities, and interests of students. This study aims to explore the role of differentiated learning strategies in improving students' social skills at the elementary school level. Using a qualitative descriptive approach and literature study method, this study examines various scientific literature published between 2021 and 2025, both from national and international journals that have been indexed in reputable databases such as SINTA, DOAJ, Scopus, and Web of Science. Differentiated learning strategies are defined as instructional approaches that adjust the learning process, teaching materials, and forms of evaluation according to different characteristics of students, such as learning styles, academic readiness, interests, and other individual needs. This approach is not only aimed at improving academic results, but also proven to be able to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for the development of students' social skills. The results showed that students who participated in differentiated learning tended to show improvements in communication skills, work in groups, resolve conflicts, and build empathy and confidence. This strategy also helps to form healthy and positive social interactions in the classroom environment. Thus, the application of differentiated learning makes an important contribution to the educational process that not only emphasizes the cognitive aspect, but also supports the formation of students' character and social skills. Differentiated learning has been shown to be effective in improving the social skills of elementary school students by adapting materials, methods, and learning environments to individual needs. This approach not only supports academic achievement, but also shapes character and social abilities such as communication, cooperation, and empathy.
