Abstract

Quality of Service (QoS) is the main indicator in assessing the performance of data communication systems. This study aims to analyze network QoS parameters, namely Throughput, Packet Loss, Delay, and Jitter, under two different conditions: when traffic is free and traffic is heavy. Measurements were carried out using a network monitoring device with the TIFON standard reference. The test results showed that the throughput value during leisure traffic was 19 Mbps, while when heavy traffic reached 1,106 Mbps, both were in the Excellent category. Packet loss was recorded at 2.5% at leisure and 1.7% at solid, both in the good category (<3%). The delay in leisure conditions reached 299.1 ms, while when it was busy it was only 7.3 ms. Similarly, jitter experienced a significant decrease from 299.2 ms at leisure to 7.3 ms when it was solid. These findings show that network performance is actually more optimal when traffic is high. Anomalies in leisure conditions, especially high delay and jitter, are thought to be caused by the mechanism of idle system or internal latency. Therefore, it is recommended to optimize the system when the network is in an inactive condition so that the quality of service is maintained consistently.

Abstract

Educational supervision is one of the important functions in education management which aims to foster, guide, and improve the professionalism of educators in order to achieve optimal learning quality. This article examines conceptually the components of Islamic education supervision and their relevance in the implementation of leadership in madrasas. The study was conducted through a literature study on education supervision theory, education regulation, and expert views, emphasizing the principles of Islamic education management. The results of the study show that effective supervision consists of several interrelated components, namely: supervision objectives, planning, implementation, supervision techniques (individual and group), instruments, evaluation, and follow-up. Each component has a strategic role in ensuring that the supervision process runs systematically, directed, and sustainable. The implementation of structured supervision will have a positive impact on improving teachers' teaching skills, implementing active, creative, effective, and fun learning (PAKEM), creating a culture of quality in schools, and improving student learning outcomes. In the context of Islamic education, the application of supervision is not only technical, but also based on the values of coaching, service, and moral responsibility. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that the success of supervision is highly dependent on the synergy of all components, so it needs to be designed and implemented comprehensively and sustainably

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the contribution of Islamic education, especially madrassas and Islamic boarding schools, in supporting the achievement of (SDGs) in Indonesia. Using a qualitative approach and a multi-site case study design, the research was conducted on a number of purposively selected madrassas and pesantren based on regional representation, institutional models, and involvement in programs relevant to the SDGs. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, and then analyzed using the Miles & Huberman model with triangulation of sources and methods to maintain validity. The results of the study show that madrasas and pesantren have a dominant contribution to SDG through the provision of affordable, inclusive, and religious value-based education. In addition, Islamic boarding schools play a role in SDG through entrepreneurship training and skills programs, as well as SDG by mainstreaming religious moderation and tolerance. Several institutions also show initiatives related to SDG through the eco/green pesantren program. However, challenges are still faced, such as the quality gap between institutions, the limitation of digital literacy, and the lack of sustainable funding support. This research confirms that Islamic education is not only an agent of the transmission of religious knowledge, but also a strategic actor of sustainable development. To strengthen this contribution, it is necessary to strengthen governance, digital innovation, community economic empowerment, and policy support that is responsive to the global agenda and local needs.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of digital technology and social media has significantly changed communication, social interaction, and political dynamics in Indonesia. However, these developments have also intensified social and political polarization, often accompanied by hate speech, hoaxes, and politicization of religion. This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic education in promoting religious moderation as a response to the challenges of digital polarization. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, the research was conducted in selected Islamic educational institutions, including madrasas, Islamic boarding schools, and Islamic universities, with purposive sampling of key actors such as educators, students, and community stakeholders. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis, and analyzed using Miles & Huberman's interactive model with triangulation for validity. The findings reveal that Islamic education plays a strategic role in strengthening religious moderation through four main practices: (1) curriculum integration of the values of tolerance, peace, and citizenship; (2) digital literacy programs to counter misinformation and ideological propaganda; (3) extracurricular activities that encourage interfaith dialogue and social solidarity; and (4) the role of exemplary educators (teachers, kyai, and lecturers) in realizing wasathiyah values. The study concludes that Islamic education is not only a means of transmitting religious knowledge but also an important agent of social cohesion and national stability in the digital age.

Abstract

Thymoquinone is the main active compound found in black cumin seed oil (Nigella sativa). This study intends to analyze the efficiency of its absorption in microcapsules by the ionic gelation of cross-linked alginate and the CaCl2 method, and loading with black cumin seed oil in a concentration of 20%. Thymoquinone was used as a marker to establish quality standards for this microcapsule preparation. Analysis of thymoquinone in microcapsules was performed using a pre-optimized, high-performance liquid chromatography method. Method optimization utilized an Acclaim® Polar Advantage II (C18) column with a flow speed of 1.5 mL/min, a UV detector wavelength of 252 nm, and an injection volume of 20 μL with an isocratic system on a methanol eluent composition: water (70:30). This method revealed a good linearity value (r = 0.9997) in the range of 0.5 – 500 μg/ml. The detection and quantitation limits were 8.67 μg/mL and 28.9 μg/mL, (%diff) was about -1.864 to 1.562, precision (% RSD) was 0.052 to 0.113%, and the recovery was 98.135 to 101.563%. The results of this method validation were then applied to determine thymoquinone loading in black cumin seed oil microcapsules. The results of the absorption efficiency value of black cumin seed oil microcapsules by the ionic gelation alginate and CaCl2 method, which contained 20% oil concentration in the formula, were 81.769%.

Abstract

Teacher work motivation is a crucial determinant of educational quality, as motivated teachers are more likely to demonstrate creativity, commitment, and consistent performance in the classroom. In many under-resourced private junior high schools, including those in Lasem District, Indonesia, motivation remains a challenge due to limited professional development opportunities and inconsistent supervisory practices. This study aims to examine the influence of the coaching method on teachers’ work motivation in private junior high schools in Lasem District. Using a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design, the study involved 62 teachers selected through total sampling. Data were collected using a validated and reliable Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed through simple linear regression. The findings reveal a significant positive relationship between the coaching method and teachers’ work motivation, with coaching contributing meaningfully to variations in motivation. Teachers who experienced reflective and collaborative coaching reported greater confidence, professional commitment, and enthusiasm in their teaching roles. It is concluded that structured coaching is an effective strategy for enhancing teacher motivation, aligning with Self-Determination Theory and Herzberg’s Two-Factor Theory, and holds potential as a strategic intervention to improve teacher performance and educational quality in resource-limited contexts.

Abstract

Improving teacher performance is a central priority in strengthening the quality of elementary education. One strategic effort in Indonesia is through Teacher Working Group (KKG) programs, which serve as collaborative and reflective forums for professional development. However, empirical evidence is still required to confirm how these activities affect teacher performance. This study aims to examine the influence of Teacher Working Group activities on the performance of elementary school teachers in Pancur District, Rembang Regency. A quantitative approach with an ex post facto design was employed, involving 117 teachers selected through proportional random sampling. Data were collected using a validated Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed through descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and simple linear regression with SPSS. The results revealed a very strong positive correlation between KKG activities and teacher performance (r = 0.869, p < 0.01). Regression analysis further showed that KKG activities significantly influenced teacher performance, explaining 75.6% of its variance (R² = 0.756, β = 0.942, p < 0.05). The study concludes that optimizing KKG is an effective strategy to enhance teacher professionalism and improve the quality of elementary education, particularly in semi-peripheral regions.

Abstract

Chili is a type of vegetable that is easily damaged and difficult to maintain in fresh form. The durability of fresh chilies if stored at low temperatures can last up to 14 days, but if stored at room temperature chilies only last about 2-4 days. Because of this, chili prices are always erratic, when chili prices are low, farmers will overcome losses by drying chilies using natural methods of sunlight. This method is considered less effective because it requires a large drying area and relatively long drying time. Therefore, it is necessary to manufacture and test chili drying ovens to speed up the drying process time and increase the durability of chilies. This research method focuses on the process of testing the performance of the drying oven. The test parameter used is using temperature of 70℃ with 3 variations of drying process time, namely 6 hours, 7 hours, and 8 hours to produce dry chili water content according to the standard, which is a maximum of 11%. The results of the chili drying oven research are the best drying time for 8 hours with a temperature of 70℃ which produces a water content of 9.33% cayenne pepper. In addition, the drying oven testing process resulted in a drying efficiency of 35.4%.
