Abstract

This research examines the implementation of the residency permit monitoring policy by Immigration Class 1 TPI Surabaya regarding violations of residency permits for visit visa subjects during the period of 2019-2022. The policy aims to enforce regulations concerning the presence of foreign nationals in Indonesia. However, its implementation faces various challenges, particularly in terms of communication, bureaucratic structure, resources, and the disposition or attitude of policy implementers. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the policy and identify areas requiring improvement to enhance monitoring performance. This study employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with officers from Immigration Class 1 TPI Surabaya and an analysis of documents related to the policy and its implementation. The findings reveal that the effectiveness of inter-unit communication in conveying policy information only reaches 75%, leading to delays in information dissemination and field coordination. Additionally, a rigid and inefficient bureaucratic structure causes 70% of monitoring processes to experience obstacles. Resource limitations, both in terms of personnel and technological facilities, also hinder implementation, with only 65% of required resources available. The implementers' disposition, achieving only about 68%, indicates a lack of commitment and consistency in executing the policy. The conclusion of this research is that the implementation of the residency permit monitoring policy at Immigration Class 1 TPI Surabaya requires significant improvements in communication, bureaucratic structure, resources, and implementers' disposition. Recommendations include increasing personnel numbers, updating monitoring technology, and conducting regular training to enhance the attitude and competence of policy implementers.

Abstract

The changing global health landscape demands a healthcare system that is not only responsive to crises but also has anticipatory capabilities through data-driven, adaptive, and long-term governance. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of the Foresight System and Feedback System in healthcare governance in Jeneponto Regency, South Sulawesi, as a representation of the application of the anticipatory governance concept at the regional level. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving in-depth interviews with Health Office officials and heads of community health centres, as well as analysis of secondary documents such as the 2024–2026 Health Office Strategic Plan and the Community Satisfaction Index report. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model, which includes data condensation, data presentation, and drawing and verifying conclusions. The results show that the capacity of the Foresight System in Jeneponto Regency is still limited to administrative reporting functions and has not yet played a role as an anticipatory system in predicting health risks based on epidemiological trends. Meanwhile, the Feedback System demonstrates progress toward an adaptive evaluation model, with four of the five key performance indicators improving, although the speed of response to critical health risks, such as maternal mortality, remains suboptimal. Key barriers include fragmented health information systems, limited analytical capacity, and weak integration across digital platforms such as SIMPUS, e-Puskesmas, and SKDR. This study confirms that simultaneous integration of the Foresight System and Feedback System is necessary to build an anticipatory and responsive health governance cycle at the regional level.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze syntactic functions in explanatory texts entitled "Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle Waste" for Indonesian language learning in grade V elementary school, focusing on the identification of Subject elements, Predicates, Objects, Complements, and Descriptions (S-P-O-Pel-K). A literature study method with a qualitative descriptive approach is used, involving the analysis of qualitative content from primary texts and secondary sources such as articles, books, and relevant references. The results of the analysis showed variations in sentence structure, ranging from simple patterns (S-P-O, S-P-K) to complex (S-P-O-Pel, S-P-Pel-K, K-S-P-Pel), including fragment sentences (K-O) and compound elements, which supported the clear delivery of cause-and-effect relationships, definitions, and waste management goals. These findings strengthen syntactic understanding and linguistic literacy, although limited to a single text analysis. This research is expected to be a reference for educators to improve students' ability to recognize and compose sentences, as well as support environmental awareness at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Introduction: Pregnancy is a critical phase in a woman’s life that induces a range of alterations, including physical, emotional, and social changes. Prenatal anxiety, often known as anxiety during pregnancy, is a prevalent psychological illness that frequently manifests throughout the gestation period. Knowledge is an indicator of anxiety levels throughout pregnancy. The objective of this study was to assess the impact of implementing the MAMA mobile application intervention on the level of awareness and anxiety related to pregnancy among pregnant women. Methods: This study employed a quasi-experimental design, which included a pretest and posttest, along with a control group that was not equivalent to the experimental group. This study followed a quantitative method and was conducted at two community health centres in the Sleman, Yogyakarta area for the control group and intervention group. We conducted the research from December 2019 to March 2020. The participants in this study were exclusively third-semester pregnant women who received care at community health centres and matched the specified research requirements. The sample size for each group consisted of 39 respondents. This study included a knowledge questionnaire to assess pregnancy knowledge and the HRSA questionnaire to assess pregnancy anxiety. Results: The research results indicate a significant impact on the knowledge variable in the intervention group before and after they received the MAMA mobile application (p=0.000). In addition, the intervention group experienced an influence on the anxiety variable before and after receiving the MAMA mobile application (p=0.018). Conclusion: The mean difference test comparing the control group to the MAMA mobile application group revealed a significant impact of the application on pregnant knowledge. However, we observed no significant effect on pregnancy anxiety.

Abstract

Extreme poverty challenges sustainable development and demands adaptive, inclusive, and evidence-based governance. This study aims to analyze the institutional capacity of local governments in addressing extreme poverty, focusing on the alignment of national and regional policies, the effectiveness of cross-sectoral coordination, and data governance as a basis for decision-making. The study employed a qualitative method with a case study design in Jeneponto Regency, which has been designated as a priority area for eradicating extreme poverty. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with 19 key informants, field observations, and official document reviews, and were analyzed thematically using NVivo 12 software. The results indicate a gap in implementation between national policies and regional planning, institutional coordination that is mainly informal and based on personal relationships, and data fragmentation between regional government agencies that hinders the accuracy of program targeting and evaluation. These conditions demonstrate administrative bias and sectoral fragmentation that are as serious as economic bias in hampering the effectiveness of poverty eradication programs. As a conceptual contribution, this study proposes the CARE Framework (Collaboration, Alignment, Responsiveness, Evidence) as an alternative adaptive governance model that places the extreme poor at the center of intervention. This research confirms that successful eradication of extreme poverty requires not only programmatic interventions, but also structural reforms of regional governance that are sustainable, inclusive, and evidence-based.

Abstract

Background: Indonesia receives intense ultraviolet B (UVB) exposure. Prolonged exposure to (UVB) radiation is a major environmental factor contributing to oxidative stress and skin inflammation through the overproduction of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and subsequent upregulation of pro-inflammatory cytokines, including interleukin-6 (IL-6). Eleutherine palmifolia, traditionally used in Indonesian herbal medicine, contains abundant flavonoids and phenolic compounds with documented antioxidant and photoprotective properties. Its ability to absorb UV rays and neutralizing ROS suggests potential efficacy as a topical agent for mitigating UVB-induced inflammatory responses. Objective: This study aimed to evaluated the effect of Eleutherine palmifolia extract cream at various concentrations (10%, 15%, 20%) on serum IL-6 levels in UVB-induced male Wistar rats. Methods: A true experimental design with post-test only control group was conducted using 36 male Wistar rats randomly assigned to four groups: control (placebo), P1 (10%), P2 (15%), and P3 (20%). The cream was applied 20 minutes before UVB exposure and again 4 hours after irridation, three times per week for 30 days. Serum IL-6 levels were measured using ELISA. Statistical analysis was performed using Shapiro–Wilk, Levene’s test, one-way ANOVA, and LSD post-hoc test. Results: Mean IL-6 levels (pg/mL): control 1.63; P1 1.59; P2 1.65; P3 1.57. ANOVA indicated a significant differences among groups (p = 0.047). Post-hoc analysis showing a significant difference only between P2 and P3 groups (p = 0.012). Conclusion: The 20% Eleutherine palmifolia cream showed the strongest anti-inflammatory effect, significantly lowering IL-6 compared with 15%, while other group differences were not significant.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the extent of the influence of digitalization of services including banking services and service quality that focuses on customer satisfaction on the financial performance of banks. This study uses qualitative and quantitative data, where the data obtained are analyzed numerically and statistically. The analysis procedure includes testing the reliability of the instrument, data distribution (normality), and testing other classical assumptions such as multicollinearity and heteroscedasticity. In addition, multiple linear regression analysis is also used to test the relationship between variables and test the strength of the model through the analysis of the coefficient of determination, simultaneous test (F), and partial test (T). Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that partially digitalization does not have a significant effect on the financial performance of banks and conversely service quality has a positive and significant effect on financial performance, the results of the simultaneous test show that digitalization and service quality together have a significant effect on performance. This finding strengthens that although partially digitalization does not have a significant effect, overall both simultaneously have a significant effect on financial performance.
