Abstract

Objective: This study aims to examine the effect of integrating computer-based learning media with the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on the development of critical thinking skills in early childhood education. Specifically, the study focuses on how this integration enhances children’s abilities to analyze, interpret, infer, and evaluate information, as well as its impact on motivation, creativity, independence, and learning engagement. Research Method: This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a Pretest–Posttest Control Group Design. The sample consisted of 30 children in Group B at TK Pertiwi No. 3 Pattiro Bajo, Bone Regency, who were randomly assigned to an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group received instruction using computer-based learning media integrated with the PBL model, while the control group received conventional instruction. Data were collected through observation sheets measuring children’s critical thinking skills and were analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and independent samples t-tests. Research Findings: The results indicate that the experimental group showed a statistically significant improvement in critical thinking skills compared to the control group. The mean posttest score of the experimental group increased from 65.3 to 83.1, while the control group only increased from 64.9 to 71.5. The t-test results revealed a significant difference between the two groups (p < 0.05), confirming that the integration of computer-based learning media with the PBL model effectively enhances early childhood learners’ critical thinking abilities, including analysis, reasoning, and conclusion-drawing skills. Novelty: This study demonstrates that the integration of computer-based learning media with the PBL model is an innovative and effective pedagogical strategy for early childhood education. The novelty lies in applying a synergistic digital–problem-based approach at the early childhood level, which not only improves critical thinking skills but also strengthens motivation, creativity, independence, and sustained engagement. The findings contribute new insights into how technology-supported PBL can be used to foster higher-order thinking skills from an early age.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze syntactic functions in explanatory texts entitled "Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle Waste" for Indonesian language learning in grade V elementary school, focusing on the identification of Subject elements, Predicates, Objects, Complements, and Descriptions (S-P-O-Pel-K). A literature study method with a qualitative descriptive approach is used, involving the analysis of qualitative content from primary texts and secondary sources such as articles, books, and relevant references. The results of the analysis showed variations in sentence structure, ranging from simple patterns (S-P-O, S-P-K) to complex (S-P-O-Pel, S-P-Pel-K, K-S-P-Pel), including fragment sentences (K-O) and compound elements, which supported the clear delivery of cause-and-effect relationships, definitions, and waste management goals. These findings strengthen syntactic understanding and linguistic literacy, although limited to a single text analysis. This research is expected to be a reference for educators to improve students' ability to recognize and compose sentences, as well as support environmental awareness at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of social justice values in the context of social stratification in Indonesian society using a qualitative approach through literature review. This study begins with the phenomenon of increasing social, economic, and educational inequality, which indicates a gap between the ideal values of Pancasila and the social realities faced by society. Through an analysis of various scientific sources, this study identifies that the stratification structure formed by the dominance of power, access to resources, and the distribution of opportunities has hampered the realization of equitable social justice. The results show that although Pancasila normatively emphasizes the principles of equality and solidarity, its implementation is still limited by a hierarchical social system and policies that do not favor marginalized groups. Reactualizing Pancasila values as an ideology of social justice in the era of globalization is a major urgency to address inequality and strengthen social solidarity. This effort requires synergy between character education, inclusive policies, and community empowerment so that social justice can become a substantive reality, not just an ideological symbol. Thus, this study emphasizes the need.

Abstract

This community service program was motivated by the low confidence and creativity of students in designing book covers, particularly due to limited technical drawing skills and a lack of understanding of digital technology. In fact, visual design skills are essential for vocational high school students who must be prepared to face the development of creative technology. To address these challenges, this program introduced the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), specifically Generative AI through platforms such as Canva and ChatGPT, as tools to enhance students’ creativity and ability to visualize their ideas. The method used in this program was a hands-on workshop that included an introduction to basic AI concepts, practice in creating prompts, and the application of AI to generate images and design book covers. The results show that students were able to produce more creative, varied, and conceptually aligned book cover designs. In addition, students gained a better understanding of AI as a creative assistant rather than a replacement for designers. This program demonstrates that integrating AI into the design learning process effectively enhances students' creativity and productivity. These findings are important as recommendations for implementing AI in vocational education environments to support more innovative and technologically relevant learning
