Abstract

The implementation of e-comic development is based on the low level of environmental literacy due to the lack of training and incomplete material in the textbook, so that students are not accustomed to being skilled in carrying out environmental literacy in the surrounding environment, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic and in inclusive education. The research method in this article is a systematic literature review. The purpose of developing e-comic is to produce learning media used independently by students to foster environmental literacy in grade 4 Elementary School. This environmental literacy hopes that students can achieve goals such as: (1) Awareness (increasing individual awareness, and sensitivity to the environment), (2) Knowledge (gaining experience in gaining a basic understanding of the environment), (3) Attitude (increasing feelings and values of caring for the environment, as well as motivation to actively participate in environmental protection), (4) Skills (increasing skills to solve environmental problems), (5) Participation (actively involved in the community in efforts to solve environmental problems). The achievement of problem-solving skill competencies can also help students to support other skills such as reading and writing. In addition, it also applies a project-based learning model. This is because there is a problem that problem solving abilities are still low, so a Project Based Learning model is needed

Abstract

The learning innovation developed is combining learning modules with the use of mobile phones so that learning is interactive and meaningful. The preparation of the module uses the PBL stages with the content of socioscientific issues according to what happens in everyday life so that it is expected to train one of the 21st century skills is critical thinking skills and support digitization of education. This study aims to develop an interactive module containing problem based learning with socioscientific issues on the water cycle material and to determine the content and construct validity of the developed learning modules. The method used in development research was adapted from the RnD method with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The data collection technique was in the form of a validation questionnaire for material experts, linguists, and media experts. From the results of data validation and analysis, a percentage of 95.55% was obtained for content validation and a percentage of 97,52% for construct validation, both of which were classified as very valid. From these results it can be concluded that the interactive module containing Problem Based Learning with socioscientific issues in the water cycle material is feasible to use in terms of validity aspects

Abstract

In the present day, it is anticipated that students possess the ability to effectively utilize digital technology to process information and address contextual problems. One possible course of action would be to develop a STEM-based Science Digital Worksheet on the Material of Object Motion. The STEM aims to facilitate the application of contextual problem-solving techniques through the utilization of students' literacy and numeracy skills. The scope of this study encompasses the field of research and development, commonly referred to as R&D. The R&D model employed ADDIE. One of the stages defined in this model is the developmental stage, which is intended to assess and evaluate the product through expert validation tests. The validators comprised of educators in the field of Integrated Science at FMIPA Semarang State University, ICT experts at SMA Negeri 1 Kudus, and science teachers at SMP 2 Dawe Kudus. The obtained media validation results from three experts yielded a value of 95%, while material experts obtained 96.67%. As a result, both were classified as highly feasible. It can be concluded that the Science Digital Worksheet is appropriate for use in learning activities

Abstract

Mata pelajaran IPA diharapkan dapat melatih peserta didik untuk berpikir ilmiah dan sistematis. Tujuan utama pembelajaran adanya pembelajaran IPA agar peserta didik dapat mempelajari konsep sains yang kemudian dapat diimplementasikan untuk menyelesaikan permasalah dalam sehari. Hasil ulangan harian peserta didik kelas VIIC SMP 26 Semarang juga menunjukkan masih kategori yang rendah. Nilai rata-rata ulangan harian hanya sebesar 42, yang masih di bawah KKM sejumlah 29 dari 34 peserta didik. Modul memegang peranan penting untuk mencapai tujuan pendidikan dengan memungkinkan peserta didik untuk menyesuaikan diri dengan karakteristik lingkungan sosialnya. Utamanya adalah materi tentang Tata Surya yang memerlukan modul belajar dalam bentuk teknologi digital karena memerlukan suatu visualisasi yang konkret. Visualisasi ini tidak hanya berupa gambar dua dimensi saja, akan tetapi perlu dapat berupa gambar tiga dimensi augmented reality dan video ilustrasi. Penerapan digital module pada pembelajaran IPA kelas VIIC SMP 26 Semarang terbukti dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik pada siklus 2. Target juga dapat tercapai 95% mencapai KKM dan 5% belum memenuhi KKM.

Abstract

Learning during the COVID-19 pandemic has an impact on students’ learning outcomes. Observation results in SMP 2 Dawe Kudus showed that students’ learning outcomes in science subjects are still low. This school was chosen because of the location of the school in remote areas which resulted in not optimal use of digital devices for assessment in learning.  The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics, feasibility, and profile of learning outcomes using digital science scrapbooks as authentic assessment to measure the learning outcomes of junior high school students on the theme of Additives and Addictive Substances. This study used a Research and Development (RD) design with ADDIE model. The science digital scrapbook as an authentic assessment developed in this study was declared feasible to use based on the assessment of material experts and evaluations. The reliability coefficient values obtained from small-scale tests for essay questions, attitude assessment instruments, and skills assessment instruments were obtained 0.62; 0.84; and 0.38. Students’ learning outcomes measured using a digital science scrapbook as an authentic assessment showed 83.3% of students were complete in the realm of knowledge, 100% completed in the realm of attitudes, and 100% completed in the realm of skills. The conclusion of this study is science digital scrapbook as an authentic assessment developed in this study was feasible to be used to measure the learning outcomes of junior high school students on additives and addictive substances concept

Abstract

This research is the development of local wisdom-based e-comics to increase scientific literacy. Learning media can help achieve learning objectives. This study aims to develop e-comic learning media based on local wisdom to improve scientific literacy in grade IV elementary school. The type of research used is Research and Development with the ADDIE development model namely Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. This study used test subjects by carrying out validity tests on media experts, material experts, learning experts and the responses of ten fourth grade elementary school students. Data collection using a questionnaire instrument. Research data were analyzed by means of descriptive quantitative and descriptive qualitative. The results of the media expert validator are categorized as very valid. The results of the material expert validator are categorized as very valid. The results of the learning expert validator are categorized as very valid. As well as the results of the responses of ten fourth grade elementary school students categorized as very valid. The overall results of the validator test are categorized as very valid so that e-comic media based on local wisdom can be used with learning alternative energy sources in grade IV Elementary School Science lessons.

Abstract

Development of the globalized world of the 21st century brings many changes, especially advances in the world of education. Ethnoscience-based learning is an innovation that integrates local wisdom as a learning resource to achieve learning objectives. Teachers can connect local wisdom possessed by students and then link it to science learning materials so that learning will be more meaningful and fun. The purpose of this study was to determine the extent of teachers' understanding of ethnoscience-based learning and its application as a learning resource in learning in elementary schools. The sampling technique was purposive sampling from 8 elementary schools, Kaliwungu Kendal. Data were collected by interview, observation and documentation and analyzed by qualitative descriptive method.  results of data analysis from 8 resource persons, it shows five from eight teachers have not understood specifically about ethnoscience-based learning, and all teachers have used internal ethnoscience as a learning resource. However, of the 8 teachers, only 3 teachers wrote ethnoscience-based learning designs in the lesson plan. This study aims to determine the skills of teachers in ethnoscience-based learning management.

Abstract

Abstrak. Kegiatan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh guru Matematika dan IPA Kota Semarang yang belum pernah mengimplementasikan sains, coding, dan robotik berbasis STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematic) pada pembelajaran. Padahal sains, coding dan robotik berbasis STEM merupakan pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang dapat mendukung keterampilan abad ke-21 dan era revolusi industri 4.0. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah meningkatkan pemahaman sains, coding, dan robotik berbasis STEM untuk guru Matematika dan IPA Kota Semarang. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah pemaparan materi oleh narasumber, praktik merancang robot sederhana dan pengkodingan melalui aplikasi, yakni Scratch for Arduino (S4A), serta sesi tanya jawab dan diskusi. Rata-rata pemahaman peserta pelatihan terhadap sains, coding, dan robotik berbasis STEM pada pretest adalah 49,71%, sedangkan pada postest adalah 83,94%. Sehingga, diperoleh N-gain sebesar 0,52 dengan kriteria sedang. Hasil tersebut mengandung arti bahwa terjadi peningkatan pemahaman peserta terhadap sains, coding, dan robotik berbasis STEM setelah diadakannya pelatihan. Peserta memiliki respon positif terhadap penyampaian materi pada pelatihan dengan skor rata-rata persentase sebesar 92,08%. Persentase tersebut mengandung arti bahwa pelatihan sains, coding, dan robotik berbasis STEM telah berlangsung dengan sangat baik. Abstract. This activity was motivated by Mathematics and Science teachers in Semarang City who had never implemented STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematic)-based science, coding, and robotics in learning. Whereas STEM-based science, coding and robotics are knowledge and skills that can support 21st century skills and the industrial revolution 4.0 era. The purpose of this training is to increase STEM-based understanding of science, coding, and robotics for Mathematics and Science teachers. The method used in this training is presentation of material by speakers, practice of designing simple robots and coding through applications, namely Scratch for Arduino (S4A), as well as question and answer sessions and discussions. The average understanding of the trainees on STEM-based science, coding, and robotics at the pretest was 49.71%, while at the posttest it was 83.94%. Thus, an N-gain of 0.52 is obtained with moderate criteria. These results imply that there was an increase in participants' understanding of STEM-based science, coding, and robotics after the training was held. Participants had a positive response to the delivery of material at the training with an average percentage score of 92.08%. This percentage means that the STEM-based science, coding and robotics training has been going very well.

Abstract

Salah satu syarat kelulusan mahasiswa program Doktor (S3) yaitu mempublikasikan naskah hasil disertasi pada jurnal internasional bereputasi. Tujuan kegiatan ini yaitu mendampingi mahasiswa program doktor Sekolah Pascasarjana Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) untuk dapat membuat manuskrip jurnal internasional bereputasi. Metode yang dilakukan dengan cara: Peserta diminta mengirim draf manuskrip, tim mereview manuskrip yang masuk, mengembalikan hasil review, melakukan diskusi dengan peserta lewat daring (ZOOM meeting). Peserta merevisi lagi naskahnya, mengirimkan kembali naskah yang sudah direvisi, peserta mentranslate, cek Turnitin dan proofread. Peserta mengecek kembali manuskrip sebelum dikirim ke jurnal yang dituju. Peserta yang mendaftar awalnya 56 orang, di akhir kegiatan terdapat empat belas manuskrip yang siap disubmid. Peserta memiliki respon positif terhadap penyampaian materi pada pelatihan dengan skor rata-rata sebesar 86, 82%. Hasil tersebut mengandung arti bahwa pemahaman peserta terhadap penulisan artikel ilmiah sangat baik. Pendampingan manuskrip untuk mahasiswa S3 sangat diperlukan dan bermanfaat untuk membantu mahasiswa menyiapkan manuskrip jurnal internasional bereputasi. One of the graduation requirements for Doctoral (S3) students is to publish an article in a reputable international journal. The purpose of this activity is to assist UNNES Postgraduate school students to be able to make manuscripts of reputable international journals. The method is carried out: the participants were asked to send draft manuscripts, the team reviews incoming manuscripts, returns the results of the review, conducts discussions with participants online (ZOOM meeting). The participants revise their manuscripts, sends back the submitted manuscripts has been revised, participants translate, check Turnitin and proofread. Participants checked the manuscript again before sending it to the intended journal. Participants who initially registered were 56 people, at the end of the activity there were fourteen manuscripts ready to be submitted. Participants had a positive response to the delivery of material at the training with an average percentage score of 86.82%. These results indicate that the participants' understanding of writing scientific articles is very good. Manuscript assistance for PhD students is very necessary and useful to help students prepare manuscripts for reputable international journals.

Abstract

Abstrak. Pembelajaran sekarang ini perlu adanya upaya untuk meningkatkan tidak hanya kemampuan kognitif, tetapi juga kemampuan afektif dan psikomotor. Pola pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan aspek dalam diri peserta didik tentu sebagai bentuk upaya menghasilkan lulusan atau generasi penerus bangsa yang memiliki kemadirian dalam mengahadapi permasalahan yang ada di lingkungan. Oleh karena itu perlu pendekatan pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan menghubungkan antara pembelajaran dan masalah yang ada di lingkungan masyarakat dengan pendekatan socio-scientific issue (SSI). SSI ini diterapkan dengan menggunakan desains project untuk meningkatkan technopreneurship mahasiswa atau kemampuan menggunakan teknologi dalam berwirausaha. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian one shot case study. Data diambil dari 56 mahasiswa fakultas sains dan teknologi Universitas Ivet. Indikator yang diambil dibatasi pada rancangan proyek, analisis kendala proyek, dan solusi permasalahan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis diperoleh kemampuan desains project 36% dinyatakan selalu berkoordinasi bersama ahli. Hasil analisis proyek berbasis teknologi diketahui lebih dari 50% proyek yang dikembangkan berbasis teknologi. Hasil untuk kemampuan dalam memecahkan permasalahan yang dihadapi dalam desains project diperoleh beberapa kendala, akan tetapi hasil wawancara dinyatakan para mahasiswa mampu memecahkan permaslahan yang dihadapi. Simpulan dari penelitian ini bahwa hasil penerapan pendekatan SSI mampu meningkatkan penguasaan technopreneurship mahasiswa. Today's learning requires efforts to improve not only cognitive abilities, but also affective and psychomotor abilities. Learning patterns to improve aspects in students are certainly a form of effort to produce graduates or the nation's next generation who have independence in dealing with problems that exist in the environment. Therefore, an appropriate learning approach is needed by connecting learning and problems that exist in the community with a socio-scientific issue (SSI) approach. This SSI is implemented by using a design project to improve students' technopreneurship or the ability to use technology in entrepreneurship. The method in this study uses a one-shot case study research design. Data were taken from 56 students of the faculty of science and technology at Ivet University. The indicators taken are limited to project design, analysis of project constraints, and problem solutions. Based on the results of the analysis, 36% of project design skills were stated to always coordinate with experts. The results of the technology-based project analysis show that more than 50% of the projects developed are technology-based. The results for the ability to solve the problems encountered in the design project obtained several obstacles, but the results of the interviews stated that the students were able to solve the problems they faced. The conclusion from this study is that the results of the application of the SSI approach are able to improve student technopreneurship.
