Abstract

This study aims to apply a learning design based on Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Teaching (PMRI) to help students learn multiplication material more concretely and meaningfully using multiplication tables. The data source for this study was students in grade 3 of Elementary School 4 Dersalam. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research method. Qualitative research methods emphasize aspects of in-depth understanding of a problem or question rather than looking at a problem to be generalized. Descriptive research is a research method in which people see events and things in their lives and ask someone or a group of people to tell their life stories. The results of the study showed that after using the PMRI learning model, students felt interested in learning and understanding mathematics learning, their mathematical knowledge increased, and students' learning activities also increased. During the learning process, for example, students dare to interact with each other and the teacher.

Abstract

Culture is a reflection of the values, traditions, and local wisdom of the community that develop in everyday life, as well as being a medium for the expression of various mathematical and philosophical concepts. This study aims to explore the concept of spatial shapes and the mathematical and philosophical values ​​contained in the Joglo Pencu Traditional House in Kudus Regency through an ethnomathematics perspective. The study uses an exploratory method with an ethnographic approach to reveal the relationship between local cultural elements and geometric forms of spatial shapes. The subject of the study was Mr. P, the caretaker of the Joglo Pencu Traditional House located in the Kudus Kretek Museum area. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using an interactive model that includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that the structure of the Joglo Pencu Traditional House contains various simple spatial shapes such as cuboids, cubes, rectangular pyramids, cylinders, and spheres, which represent mathematical values. In addition, each spatial shape also implies philosophical values, such as balance, order, and the outlook on life of the Kudus community. This finding confirms that the Joglo Pencu Traditional House contains mathematical and philosophical values ​​that can be analyzed through the geometry of the spatial structure.

Abstract

Melalui implementasi model pembelajaran Jigsaw yang dipadukan dengan media FlatZone memiliki tujuan guna meningkatkan kemampuan siswa kelas IV SD 3 Jepang dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika secara bermakna. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang terdiri atas dua tahapan siklus. Setiap siklus mengikuti langkah-langkah model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart yang meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Tes, wawancara, dokumentasi, serta pengamatan lapangan dipilih sebagai metode sistematis dalam mengumpulkan data. Temuan studi ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan melalui penggunaan model Jigsaw berbantu media FlatZone, khususnya pada topik Luas dan Keliling Bangun Datar Persegi dan Persegi Panjang. Dalam siklus kedua, rata-rata nilai siswa meningkat dari 65 di siklus pertama menjadi 78. Jumlah siswa yang mencapai ketuntasan belajar meningkat dari 9 orang pada siklus awal menjadi 16 siswa pada siklus lanjutan. Capaian ketuntasan klasikal pun naik dari 50% (kategori cukup) menjadi 84% (kategori baik). Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran Jigsaw berbantu media FlatZone terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa kelas IV SD 3 Jepang.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of differentiated learning in improving students' learning motivation in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) subjects, especially Physics material about the earth and space in grade VI of SDN 1 Genjahan. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with research subjects of teachers and 28 grade VI students. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation, which were then analyzed qualitatively to describe the process and impact of implementing differentiated learning. The results of the study indicate that differentiated learning designed based on variations in student learning styles, namely visual, auditory, and kinesthetic, can increase learning motivation and student engagement in IPAS learning. Adjusting learning strategies to student learning characteristics makes Physics learning more contextual, interesting, and meaningful. Thus, differentiated learning has proven to be effective in improving elementary school students' learning motivation in science subjects and can be used as an alternative learning strategy that is responsive to students' learning needs.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low reading comprehension ability of elementary school students, particularly second-grade students at SDN 3 Buaran. Students still experienced difficulties in understanding the content of reading texts and answering questions based on the texts they read. This study aimed to determine the effect of implementing the “Who Am I” word-guessing game on students’ reading comprehension skills. This research employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design. The population as well as the sample consisted of all second-grade students of SDN 3 Buaran in the 2025/2026 academic year, totaling 19 students. Data were collected using pretest and posttest assessments. The research instruments were validated through expert judgment. Data analysis was conducted using the Shapiro–Wilk normality test and hypothesis testing with a paired sample t-test. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. This was evidenced by a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05 and a t-value of -9.273. The average improvement in learning outcomes was categorized as high. Therefore, the implementation of the “Who Am I” word-guessing game is effective in improving the reading comprehension skills of second-grade students at SDN 3 Buaran.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the mathematical concepts contained in the traditional game of engklek as an ethnomathematics study. This study uses a qualitative approach with ethnographic methods conducted in Rahtawu Village, Gebog District, Kudus Regency. Data sources were obtained through interviews with Rahtawu Village elders and documentation of engklek game patterns and activities that are still preserved by the local community. The results show that the engklek game contains concepts of plane geometry through square, rectangular, and semicircular grid patterns, as well as grid arrangements that resemble a cuboid net. In addition, the movements of players in jumping, maintaining balance, and following the grid lines demonstrate the application of the concepts of angles, directions, trajectories, and spatial coordination. These findings indicate that the engklek game has the potential as a source of ethnomathematics studies that can be used to link mathematical concepts with local culture in the context of elementary school learning.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the philosophical values and mathematical concepts found in the wooden coin exchange system in buying and selling activities at Sarwono Market, Wonosoco Village, Undaan District, Kudus Regency. The research problem focuses on the relationship between local culture and the application of mathematical concepts in traditional economic practices. The research subjects consisted of one BUMDes manager and five traditional food vendors at Sarwono Market. The method used was qualitative with an ethnographic approach through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using the Miles & Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, with triangulation of sources and methods to ensure data validity. The results showed that the wooden coin exchange system not only functions as a transaction tool but also represents the values of honesty, accuracy, balance, and responsibility. Mathematically, these buying and selling activities contain the concepts of basic arithmetic operations, comparative values, and the geometric shape of a circle. This study confirms that ethnomathematics plays an important role as a contextual learning approach as well as a means of preserving cultural values and strengthening the local identity of Indonesian communities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengalaman belajar peserta didik kelas IV SD N Purwokerto dalam menemukan rumus volume kubus dan balok melalui pendekatan Pendidikan Matematika Realistik. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 20 peserta didik, terdiri dari 10 laki-laki dan 10 perempuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi, memanfaatkan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi sebagai instrumen pengumpulan data. Data dianalisis dengan model Miles & Huberman melalui proses reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan Pendidikan Matematika Realistik yang genggam konsep matematika dengan kehidupan sehari-hari, model beton seperti kubus satuan, dan transisi menuju matematika formal, membantu peserta didik memahami konsep dalam menemukan rumus volume kubus dan balok serta memberikan pengalaman belajar yang kontekstual dan bermakna . Pendekatan ini juga melibatkan peserta didik secara aktif dan mendukung pengembangan keterampilan berpikir analitis serta pemecahan masalah. Kesimpulannya, Pendidikan Matematika Realistik memberikan pengalaman belajar yang relevan dalam membantu peserta didik didik, konsep matematika, dengan kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan secara etnografis unsur-unsur etnomatematika yang terkandung dalam tradisi kesenian Barongan Kabupaten Demak dan mengidentifikasi bentuk-bentuk konsep matematika yang muncul dalam aspek visual, musikal, dan gerak pertunjukan Barongan, serta memahami bagaimana unsur-unsur tersebut dimaknai oleh masyarakat pendukungnya sebagai bagian dari praktik budaya yang hidup. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan perspektif etnografi. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah adalah purposive sampling dengan seniman barongan yang memiliki ahli dalam bidangnya masing-masing. . Subjek penelitian meliputi pelaku kesenian yaitu meliputi pendiri, pemain dan pelatih Barongan. Adapun objek kajian difokuskan pada identifikasi konsep matematika yang tampak pada pola Gerakan kesenian Barongan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa etnomatematika yang terdapat dalam kesenian barongan adalah ada pada pola gerak tariannya yang terstruktur dan berulang. Gerakan penari, seperti arah hadap tubuh, posisi tangan, serta perubahan langkah dan putaran, secara tidak langsung membentuk konsep pengukuran sudut. Konsep sudut tersebut terlihat pada kemiringan badan, bukaan lengan, dan orientasi tubuh penari terhadap ruang pertunjukan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas pendekatan Pendidikan Matematika Realistik Indonesia (PMRI) dengan menggunakan media timbangan sederhana tidak baku berupa "Gantungan Baju" sebagai alat bantu pembelajaran. Pembelajaran matematika di sekolah dasar memiliki peran signifikan dalam membangun pemahaman dasar peserta didik terhadap konsep-konsep matematika yang relevan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Berdasarkan observasi di SDN Kedungmutih 1, pembelajaran matematika cenderung kurang bermakna, ditandai dengan pendekatan pengajaran yang lebih menekankan penghafalan rumus daripada penerapan konsep dalam konteks nyata. Akibatnya, peserta didik mengalami kesulitan memahami materi, khususnya pada konsep pengukuran berat benda. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif untuk menganalisis pemahaman peserta didik terhadap konsep berat benda. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, wawancara, tes, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media "Gantungan Baju" dapat meningkatkan pemahaman peserta didik terhadap konsep berat benda secara signifikan. Pendekatan ini juga membuat pembelajaran lebih menarik, kontekstual, dan relevan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari peserta didik. Dengan media sederhana ini, peserta didik lebih aktif dalam proses pembelajaran, meningkatkan keterampilan motorik, verbal, dan kemampuan berpikir kritis. Selain itu, penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya penggunaan media konkret dalam menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang bermakna dan efektif, sehingga mendukung pencapaian hasil belajar optimal.
