Abstract

Environmental awareness among elementary students remains inadequate despite its critical importance for sustainable development. This qualitative case study investigated poster media implementation to foster environmental awareness at SD Inpres 3 Talise, examining implementation processes, behavioral changes, and obstacles encountered by educators. Twenty-four students from grades III, IV, and V, three homeroom teachers, and the school principal participated. Data were collected through systematic observations, semi-structured interviews, and documentary evidence, analyzed using the Miles and Huberman framework with triangulation for validity. Results revealed that strategically positioned posters combined with peer modeling effectively enhanced environmental awareness, with fifth-grade students demonstrating autonomous environmental behaviors, fourth-grade students showing consistent conduct requiring occasional reinforcement, and third-grade students displaying gradual improvements with substantial teacher guidance. Unexpected findings included spontaneous peer mentoring dynamics and location-dependent poster effectiveness. Seven implementation obstacles emerged: inconsistent student attention, attitude-behavior gaps, novelty effects, suboptimal placement, resource limitations, inadequate pedagogical integration, and limited teacher understanding of visual media pedagogy. Findings align with Mayer's Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning, Bandura's Social Learning Theory, and Ajzen's Theory of Planned Behavior, demonstrating that posters function optimally as pedagogically integrated tools requiring strategic placement, content refreshment, and instructional reinforcement rather than passive displays. This study contributes practical insights for implementing cost-effective visual media interventions in resource-constrained educational settings.

Abstract

Multiplication instruction in elementary schools often relies on abstract presentations without adequate concrete support, resulting in low student achievement. This study investigated the effect of magic glass learning media on fourth-grade students' multiplication learning outcomes at SD Inpres 1 Tondo. A pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design was employed with 26 fourth-grade students selected through saturated sampling. Data were collected using a 20-item multiple-choice test with established content validity (CVI > 0.78) and reliability (α = 0.82). Students completed a pretest, participated in four instructional sessions using magic glass media representing multiplication as repeated addition through cups and counting sticks, then completed a posttest. Data analysis utilized descriptive statistics and paired-samples t-test (α = 0.05) following Shapiro-Wilk normality testing. Mean scores increased significantly from 35.40 (SD = 15.19) to 75.78 (SD = 18.65), representing a 114% improvement. The paired-samples t-test revealed statistically significant differences (t = -11.251, df = 25, p < 0.001). Low-performing students demonstrated particularly dramatic gains, while engagement remained consistently high throughout treatment sessions. Findings confirm that magic glass media effectively enhances multiplication learning by aligning with students' concrete operational developmental stage, consistent with Piagetian and Brunerian theories. The media facilitates meaningful conceptual understanding through hands-on manipulation, particularly benefiting struggling learners. Magic glass learning media represents an accessible, evidence-based intervention for improving elementary mathematics instruction.

Abstract

The globalization era and rapid technological development threaten Indonesian local wisdom preservation, particularly oral traditions. Globalization triggers shifts toward more practical modern lifestyles, exacerbated by insufficient younger generations interested in inheriting their culture. The objective of this study is to create an illustrated narrative book incorporating indigenous Sasak cultural knowledge intended for elementary third-year learners at SDN 44 Cakranegara. Pre-research interviews and questionnaires revealed urgency: (1) students did not know Tetuntel Tuntel dait Tegodek Godek, a distinctive Sasak folktale; (2) limited picture storybooks about local wisdom. Analysis of student textbook theme 2 “Loving Plants and Animals” showed: folktales presented only as text without attractive visuals, overly simplistic content lacking regional distinctiveness, and no introduction to Indonesian archipelago folktales. This condition created local cultural introduction gaps and disrupted intergenerational cultural transmission. R&D method using ADDIE model was selected for its systematic and structured framework producing quality learning products. Analysis: identifying students' knowledge gaps. Design: designing bilingual book concepts. Development: producing books with Sasak-Indonesian texts, engaging illustrations, and local wisdom values. Implementation: pilot testing with target users. Evaluation: expert validation and user response measurement. Validation results were excellent: media expert 85.71%, material expert 92.31%, student response 98.53%, teacher response 95%. The book effectively facilitates folktale comprehension and introduces Sasak local wisdom, contributing to local cultural preservation.

Abstract

Computation propaganda which is aimed at diverting public opinion, is widely used in the world of politics in the current era of digital democracy. One of the effects of use computation propaganda namely the polarization of public opinion on social media. This needs to be a concern, especially in Indonesia which has a pluralistic society. This research wants to find out how computational propaganda strategies are used in the 2024 presidential election of the Republic of Indonesia. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method. The research data is the result of Social Network Analysis (SNA) on conversations about the 2024 presidential election which became a trending topic on Twitter/X social media. The analysis was carried out by Drone Emprit Academic, the data from the analysis was then interpreted by researchers. The results of the research show that the 02 Prabowo/Gibran candidate pair used a computational propaganda strategy in building and guiding public opinion about the pair. This can be seen on the SNA map where the sub-clusters are formed separately from the main cluster, creating a network mesh  network and post many to many This is a characteristic of a bot account. The narrative built by the network has a positive sentiment towards couple 02. The use of bots by one of the couples has the potential to create polarization of public opinion regarding the 2024 presidential election on social media. The use of computational propaganda has become unavoidable in today's rapidly developing technological era. Therefore, there is a need for understanding from an ethical perspective in using it and there is a need to increase political literacy and digital literacy for the community regarding this matter.
