Abstract

The rate of cesarean section has increased significantly and has become a major concern in maternal healthcare services. Therefore, promotive and preventive strategies are needed to enhance the independence of pregnant women, one of which is through the application of self-care acupressure as a safe and practical non-pharmacological complementary therapy. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of self-care acupressure in improving knowledge, practical skills, and independence among pregnant women at risk of cesarean section in the working area of Katobengke Public Health Center, Baubau City. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental one group pretest–posttest design was used. The study was conducted in 2026 involving 30 participants selected through purposive sampling. Before the intervention, most respondents had low knowledge levels. After the education program, knowledge improved significantly, with statistical analysis showing a meaningful difference before and after the intervention.

Abstract

The postpartum period is a crucial period with physiological, psychological, and social changes that can impact the health of both mother and baby. A mother's inability to adapt risks postpartum depression, poor breastfeeding success, and suboptimal infant care. Therefore, maternal empowerment is a crucial strategy, one of which is influenced by self-efficacy (confidence in one's own abilities). This study aimed to analyze the relationship between self-efficacy and postpartum maternal empowerment using a quantitative cross-sectional design among 40 postpartum mothers at the Sulaa Community Health Center in Baubau City (2025). Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that the majority of respondents had high self-efficacy (60%) and good empowerment (65%), with a significant relationship between the two (p = 0.003). Mothers with high self-efficacy tended to be more empowered. In conclusion, self-efficacy plays a crucial role in postpartum maternal empowerment and needs to be enhanced through education, counseling, and support from healthcare professionals.

Background of this research tradition Indonesian Pencak silat martial arts Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) certificate or an intangible cultural heritage certificate from the United Nations educational, scientific and cultural organization, or UNESCO. This research aims to find the cultural models of pencak silat as a martial art inherited from the ancestors of the Indonesian people to their children and grandchildren, which contain a lot of philosophy in them. Like the stance of the horses in pencak silat, they are rarely in a clenched fist, but always with their hands open. That means that pencak silat is not a form of self-defense to hurt people. But, aiming to defend yourself from the attacks of others. In the stance model of the horses, if someone invites a fight, they tend to avoid it. And if the opponent continues to attack, then the stance used is usually evasion. If the opponent is still attacking, then a defense is used. After being parried, it turns out that the opponent is still attacking, so we catch it and we paralyze it with a lock. That is, a fighter will never look for enemies. Abstract

This article explains the Hamas movement’s influence on Palestinian social conditions. This paper’s purpose is to describe the hegemony of Hamas in Palestine and its influence on the social behavior of the Palestinian people. The problem in this study is how the Hamas movement affects the social conditions of the Palestinian people. This research used a qualitative interpretive method and a hermeneutic method. This study uses Gramsci’s theory of hegemony as a scalpel. The results of this paper indicate that the hegemony of Hamas in Palestine affects the mindset, behavior, and vision of the Palestinian people. The Hamas movement influences people’s minds to defend and fight for the Palestinian territories from Israel. Hamas also forms the mindset of the people to seize power from Fatah, which is its political opponent in Palestine, who has different views on the form of a Palestinian state.
