Abstract

The purpose of this community service is to strengthen children's self-confidence with counseling and basic leadership training.  The method of implementing the service activity is offline training which is carried out at the Tangerang Regional Government Hall. The target of the service activity is the City Children's Forum, Tangerang. The community service team is from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta in collaboration with Bina Bangsa University and the Office of Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control and Family Planning of Tangerang City. The instruments used as activity evaluations are questionnaires for children's responses to activities and questionnaires for children's self-confidence after being given training and counseling. The data analysis uses the percentage of responses and then determines the category. The results and conclusions of devotion are: 1) children's response to service activities is 85%, which is classified as very good. This means that the children's forum who are respondents in this service consider that counseling activities and basic leadership training make a positive contribution to their knowledge of leadership; 2) the majority of children's self-confidence is high and moderate after receiving counseling and basic leadership training.

Abstract

Mathematical literacy is an essential skill of the 21st century, while AQ provides a non-cognitive perspective that has been under-appreciated in the study of mathematical literacy. This study aims to analyze the mathematical literacy ability of junior high school students reviewed from the Adversity Quotient (AQ), which is the ability of individuals to face challenges and pressures in the learning process. This study uses a qualitative approach of case studies with the subjects of grade VIII students of SMP Istiqomah Sambas Purbalingga who were selected based on the high, medium, and low AQ categories. Data collection techniques include context-based tests, in-depth interviews, and document analysis of student work. The results of the study showed that students with high AQ (climber type) were able to formulate mathematical problems from the context of the problem, compile the SPLDV model, and interpret the results accurately. Students also show high self-control, responsibility, and perseverance. On the other hand, students with moderate AQ (camper) have mathematical representation skills but are less thorough in interpreting results, while students with low AQ (quitter) have difficulty in compiling mathematical models and easily give up. These findings can be the basis for designing learning that strengthens students' character and fighting power in mathematics

Abstract

The problem in this study is to evaluate the improvement of students' geometry skills using the GeoGebra application by focusing on two key indicators: logical thinking and drawing skills. This study employs both quantitative and qualitative methods. In the first stage, quantitative data were collected through pretests and posttests to measure student geometry skill changes. In the second stage, qualitative methods were used to explore and validate the quantitative findings through geometry skill tasks and interviews. The research subjects were second-semester mathematics education students at Bina Bangsa University, selected using purposive sampling. The findings reveal that students who engaged in geometry learning with GeoGebra experienced significant improvement in both logical reasoning and geometric drawing skills. Students became better at visualizing geometric problems, constructing geometric figures accurately, and connecting visual information to logical reasoning processes. GeoGebra improved students’ ability to identify patterns, perform deductions, draw conclusions, and visually communicate geometric ideas. It is recommended that GeoGebra be complemented with mathematical writing and drawing activities in geometry instruction to strengthen further the logical and visual dimensions of students’ geometric thinking.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (PKM) with the theme “Building a Reading Literacy Culture to Improve the Quality of Life Habits of Generation Alpha in Kilasah Village” aims to improve reading habits among Generation Alpha children in Kilasah Village, as well as strengthen the role of parents and teachers in supporting literacy. Literacy training involving children, parents, and teachers was conducted through a participatory approach that included the provision of reading books, training in creative learning methods, and the formation of reading habits at home. The results of the training showed a significant increase in children's reading habits, as well as the involvement of parents and teachers in supporting children's literacy. In addition, the mobile library has succeeded in providing wider access to reading books, although challenges related to internet access and time remain obstacles that need to be overcome. This program has succeeded in having a positive impact in creating a sustainable literacy culture in Kilasah Village, with the potential to improve the quality of life of children through healthy reading habits.

Abstract

Abstract: Understanding the concept of nonlinear equation systems is a challenge for many students due to their visual complexity and dynamic nature. This study aims to systematically examine the impact of interactive visualization on students' understanding of the concept of nonlinear equation systems. Using a Qualitative Method with a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, 50 literature sources from the DOAJ, Scopus, and Google Scholar databases published between 2015 and 2025 were searched, and 18 relevant studies were analyzed in depth. The findings indicate that interactive visualization significantly contributes to enhancing students' conceptual understanding through mechanisms such as multiple representations, direct parameter manipulation, and higher cognitive engagement.
