Abstract

Algorithmic nudging through artificial intelligence-driven management has emerged as a transformative force in contemporary hybrid workplaces, offering unprecedented opportunities for personalized performance optimization while simultaneously raising critical concerns about employee autonomy and psychological well-being. This mixed-methods study examined 87 white-collar professionals from Indonesian technology, financial services, and consulting firms to elucidate the complex relationship between algorithmic nudging, job burnout, perceived threat, and workforce well-being. Drawing upon self-determination theory and conservation of resources theory, the study integrated in-depth qualitative interviews (n=32) with quantitative burnout assessments employing the Maslach Burnout Inventory. Results revealed a curvilinear relationship whereby moderate algorithmic nudging implementations demonstrated positive effects on competence satisfaction and task clarity, whereas intensive surveillance and real-time algorithmic interventions paradoxically increased emotional exhaustion and cynicism by undermining autonomy and relatedness. Person-job fit emerged as a critical moderator, with individuals in roles aligned with algorithmic management exhibiting 34% lower burnout compared to misaligned counterparts. The study identified three primary mechanisms through which algorithmic nudging influences well-being: resource depletion (through psychological pressure), autonomy suppression (through constrained decision-making), and relatedness erosion (through surveillance-induced isolation). Contextual factors including organizational transparency, employee agency in system design, and hybrid work flexibility substantially buffered negative effects. These findings suggest that algorithmic nudging represents a double-edged sword requiring calibrated implementation, genuine employee participation in system governance, and human-centric safeguards to maximize productivity gains while protecting psychological well-being in the hybrid work erav

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the biophysical characteristics and evaluate the suitability of the coastal area for the development of recreational beach tourism in Tanete Rilau District, Barru Regency, South Sulawesi. The research was conducted from January to April 2026. The study area comprised three observation stations: Station 1, Station 2, and Station 3, each exhibiting distinct biophysical characteristics. The parameters observed included beach type, beach width, water substrate, depth, brightness, current speed, beach slope, land cover, presence of hazardous biota, and availability of freshwater. Data were collected through field surveys and analyzed using the Tourism Suitability Index (TSI). The results indicated that the TSI values at Stations 1 and 2 were 2.0 and 2.1, respectively, categorizing them as suitable, whereas Station 3 had a TSI value of 1.8, categorizing it as unsuitable. This suggests that Stations 1 and 2 possess potential for development as recreational beach tourism areas, while Station 3 is less suitable for tourism development.

Abstract

Tanete Rilau Subdistrict in Barru Regency is a coastal area facing environmental pressures due to anthropogenic activities such as settlements, fishponds, and coastal development. This study aims to analyze the diversity of macrozoobenthos as a bioindicator of water conditions in the area. The research was conducted in March 2026 at three observation stations: the fishpond area (Station 1), mangrove ecosystem (Station 2), and settlement area (Station 3). The results found 8 species of macrozoobenthos from the phylum Mollusca (7 species of Gastropods and 1 species of Bivalvia), with a total of 61 individuals. The abundance of individuals ranged from 3–28 ind/m², with the highest abundance at Station 1 (28 ind/m²) and the lowest at Station 3 (3 ind/m²). The diversity index (H’) ranged from 0 to 1.32, categorizing the water quality as low to moderate. Station 2 showed the highest diversity (1.32), while Station 3 showed single species dominance by Clypeomorus pellucida with a dominance index (C) of 1. Sediment analysis showed dominance of fine to very fine sand fractions with total organic matter content (TOM) ranging from 5.01% to 34.88%. PCA analysis confirmed that variation in environmental conditions is controlled by the interaction of temperature, salinity, pH, DO, and TOM, which directly affect the macrozoobenthos community structure at the research sites.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the role of management in increasing the knowledge of prospective scholars of Pesantren Darul Arqam Muhammadiyah Gombara Makassar and to find out the inhibiting and supporting factors. This research was conducted at Pesantren Darul Arqam Muhammadiyah Gombara Makassar by using a qualitative descriptive research approach with data collection techniques through observation and interviews and documentation with the management of the boarding and education fields or internal boarding schools. This study found that the management of Pesantren Darul Arqam Gombara towards increasing the knowledge of candidates is carried out through the process of planning, organising coaches, supervising and evaluating programs in accordance with the objectives of the pesantren in the form of a program to strengthen the basics of boarding school knowledge for new students for three months which is packaged in the term Iddady Program including programs to develop basic Arabic language skills, practical worship, Tahsin and Tahfidz Al-Qur'an and akhlaq. The second is a routine boarding programme including advanced Arabic language learning, Muhadarah or speech practice, yellow book studies, advanced Qur'an Tahfidz and the Muballig Hijrah programme for final year students. There is a boarding report card that contains the competency achievements of the students which is submitted at the end of the semester. In the field of education, the pesantren school uses an integrated curriculum that combines the curriculum that has been published by the Education Office, the Ministry of Religion and the curriculum published by the Muhammadiyah Association in this case the Muhammadiyah Pesantren Development Institute (LP2M). The obstacles faced by pesantren management are influenced by the non-permanent resources of kemusyrifan or coaches so that sometimes it results in a vacuum of implementation and supervision which has an impact on the smooth running of pesantren programmes. Dormitory construction planning still needs to be improved and the construction is well pursued. Then the obstacles that also occur in the school education environment are the many core educators and education personnel who are appointed as civil servants / PP3K which results in them leaving the pesantren because they get a new place of assignment. Supporting factors are the great attention of the Muhammadiyah Regional leadership as the organiser of pesantren education in increasing the quantity and quality of pesantren resources and the number of santri which in recent years has increased thanks to the public interest from year to year getting higher and higher to enter their children in this pesantren, especially from among Alumni and Muhammadiyah Association Residents.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of operational management in the administration of the Hajj in the digital age, characterized by the use of integrated information systems and technology-driven service transformation. The study focuses on the use of Hajj digitization through the SISKOHAT and SISKOPATUH systems, as well as the integration of cross-border services to support the smooth administration of the Hajj. To what extent technology contributes to improving service quality is examined in this study through policy analysis. The research indicates that digitalization can enhance service speed, accuracy, transparency, and the effectiveness of real-time oversight. However, digitalization still faces numerous challenges. Some of these include low digital literacy among members of the public, limited human resources, and the need to balance technological advancements with a human-centered approach to service delivery. Therefore, for Hajj digitalization to operate optimally and sustainably, plans are needed to enhance human resource capacity and develop inclusive systems.

Abstract

Academic stress is one of the impacts of excessive academic pressure on students, so it is necessary to identify various factors that can contribute to the high or low levels of academic stress. Therefore, the objectives of this research are: 1) to describe the levels of social support, academic resilience, and academic stress; 2) to describe the differences in social support, academic resilience, and academic stress based on gender, major, and year of study; 3) to describe the influence of social support and academic resilience on academic stress both directly and indirectly. This research uses a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional study design. The research location is ISBI Singkawang with a population of 650, from which a sample of 248 was taken using the simple random sampling technique. The data collection technique used was measurement with a psychological scale instrument adopted from previous research. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistics, MANOVA, and regression (Hayes Process Macro). The research results show that students' academic stress is in the low category, while social support and academic resilience are in the high category. There are differences in academic stress, social support, and academic resilience based on the major. Then, social support and academic resilience directly influence academic stress, but indirectly result in an insignificant mediating effect. This study has implications for strategies to reduce academic stress, both in individual and institutional contexts.
