Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of smartphone usage intensity on students’ learning discipline at MTs Miftahul Ulum, East Lampung. The research employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional survey design. The population consisted of 164 students, with a sample of 122 respondents selected using a simple random sampling technique. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire measuring smartphone usage intensity and learning discipline. Data analysis was conducted using normality tests, linearity tests, simple linear regression, hypothesis testing (t-test), and the coefficient of determination with the assistance of SPSS.The results indicate that smartphone usage intensity does not have a significant effect on students’ learning discipline, as shown by a significance value of 0.236 (> 0.05) and a coefficient of determination of 1.2%. These findings suggest that learning discipline is not directly influenced by smartphone usage intensity, but rather by other factors such as self-control, learning motivation, and the educational environment. This study contributes novel insights by examining this relationship within the context of a madrasah, which has distinct religious characteristics. The implication of this study highlights the importance of managing smartphone use in a wise and educational manner to support the learning process.

Abstract

The growing need for architecturally distinctive buildings with complex shapes poses a challenge to structural engineers in reinforced concrete construction. This paper examines the effectiveness of structural design implementation in architecturally complex reinforced concrete buildings through early interdisciplinary collaboration and analytical techniques. A single-case study method was adopted, and the 45-story Meru Tower in Jakarta, with a twisted façade and irregular floor plans, was selected as the case study. Data collection was done using semi-structured interviews with eight key participants and document analysis of structural design calculations, finite element analysis results, and BIM coordination reports. The results show that early co-location of structural engineers with architects, assisted by structured BIM procedures, facilitated real-time geometric feasibility checks and avoided costly design conflicts at a later stage. Technical problems related to torsional irregularities and stress concentrations were addressed through response spectrum analysis, nonlinear time-history analysis, outrigger walls, and post-tensioned transfer girders. Quantitative validation confirmed that all performance criteria were met, including a 0.18% drift ratio, a 1.15 torsional ratio, and a maximum stress of 16.2 MPa, with a 9% reduction in concrete volume. This paper presents a three-phase approach derived from the Meru Tower case, offering practical insights for structural design implementation in architecturally complex concrete buildings. However, further validation across multiple cases is required.

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has brought significant changes to auditing practices, particularly in improving audit quality. This study aims to examine the effect of AI implementation, risk management, and governance on audit quality. A quantitative approach was employed using a survey method involving 100 auditors in East Java who have implemented AI-based auditing systems. The data were collected through purposive sampling and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results indicate that AI implementation, risk management, and governance have a positive and significant effect on audit quality. These findings suggest that AI enhances efficiency, accuracy, and auditors’ analytical capabilities in identifying risks. However, its effectiveness depends on organizational readiness, data quality, and auditor competence. Therefore, the implementation of AI in auditing should be supported by strengthened risk management, governance, and the development of auditors’ professional capabilities.

Abstract

This study examines how Masjid Raya Bintaro Jaya (MRBJ) in suburban Jakarta adapts da'wah to young urban Muslims by integrating health-oriented lifestyles and environmental sustainability. Using a qualitative single-case study design with in-depth interviews with four key informants, supported by observation and document analysis, the study finds that MRBJ operates as a form of institutional popular piety: religious expression is shaped through mosque-initiated programs that draw on middle-class popular culture, rather than market logic. First, MRBJ translates eco-theological concepts into practical mosque programs, including waste donation, biopores, solar panels, greening initiatives, and a reverse vending machine. Second, it mobilizes sport, wellness, and digital activities such as fun runs, health screenings, and online content to attract and engage young Muslims. Third, these initiatives position the mosque as a hybrid institution that combines da'wah, ecological care, and lifestyle-based engagement. The main contribution of this article is theoretical: it extends the concept of popular piety from individual practice and consumer culture to the institutional level, showing that the mosque can actively produce and direct popular piety as a da'wah strategy. These findings enrich scholarship on urban mosques, contemporary da'wah, and popular Islam in Indonesia.
