Abstract

The use of creative and innovative teaching materials in learning has a very important role so that it can increase students' interest in learning and be able to make it easier to understand learning materials, especially in social studies learning. This study aims to produce a product in the form of comic-based educational materials for IPS lessons that cover various types of community economic activities for Class V of SDN 1 Kuripan Utara, which are valid and practical. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) with a research model used being the 4D model, which consists of four stages: Define (definition), Design (design), Development (development), and Disseminate (dissemination). This study was conducted at SDN 1 Kuripan Utara. The subjects of the study were 8 fifth-grade students at SDN 1 Kuripan Utara. The object of the study was comic-based educational materials for IPS lessons on the topic of types of community economic activities. The research methods used in this study are questionnaires, in the form of expert media and material validation questionnaire and teacher and student response questionnaire. The results of this study are based on expert media validation tests, which yielded a score of 83.63% with a very valid criterion. The results of the expert material validation test yielded a score of 81.25% with a very valid criterion. Then, based on the practicality test according to the teacher's response, the result was 89% with a very practical criterion. Similarly, the result of the student's response was 81% with a very practical criterion. Therefore, it can be concluded based on the research results that the comic-based educational materials developed are feasible to used for teaching IPS lessons on the topic of types of community economic activities for Class V of SDN 1 Kuripan Utara.

Abstract

The limited use of innovative learning media causes low science learning outcomes in elementary schools. This study aims to develop the Valdako media “Visual Nature in a Box” that is valid, practical, and effective to improve learning outcomes on the material of natural and artificial features for third-grade students at SDN 1 Kabar, East Lombok. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ASSURE model, which consists of six stages, namely (Analyze Learner Characteristics), (State Performance Objectives), (Select Methods, Media, and Materials), (Utilize Technology, Media, and Materials), (Require Learner Participation), and (Evaluation and Revision). The research subjects consisted of 1 teacher and 20 third-grade students, and the research object was the Valdako media. Data collection instruments included observation sheets, interview guides, preliminary study questionnaires, expert validation questionnaires, practicality questionnaires, and tests. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and tests, with data analysis using Aiken’s V, percentages, and N-Gain. The data were then analyzed descriptively both qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of the study showed that the media validity level was 0.867 from content experts, which falls into the very valid category, and 0.907 from media experts, also in the very valid category. The practicality level based on teacher responses was 86%, categorized as very practical, and based on student responses, it was 88%, also categorized as very practical. The effectiveness level showed an N-gain score of 0.76, categorized as high, indicating that the media is effective in improving student learning outcomes. The Valdako learning media “visual nature in a box” was proven to be very valid, very practical, and effective for use in IPS learning for Grade III at SDN 1 Kabar, East Lombok.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze public opinion on TikTok regarding the age restriction policy. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach, with data sources consisting of user comments on TikTok video content discussing the policy. Data were collected through documentation techniques, taking 37 relevant comments. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis, classifying comments into positive, negative, and neutral sentiment categories. The results show that negative sentiment dominated at 48.6%, followed by positive sentiment at 40.5%, and neutral sentiment at 10.8%. These findings indicate that the age restriction policy for social media users continues to generate debate among the public, particularly regarding issues of individual freedom and child protection.

Abstract

The Arcangelisia flava plant has previously been reported to reduce blood glucose levels in experimental animals. However, there have been no reports on the antidiabetic activity of its stem bark. This study aimed to evaluate the antidiabetic activity of A. flava extracts and fractions, identify their bioactive compounds, and explore the mechanistic pathways involved using the network pharmacology approach. The chemical constituents of the n-hexane fraction were analyzed using gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The in vivo antidiabetic test was conducted on Mus musculus induced with streptozotocin/niacinamide. Blood glucose levels were measured using the oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) The antioxidant activity of the extracts and fractions was determined using the ABTS assay. The result showed that the GC-MS analysis of the n-hexane fraction identified 18 compounds belonging to seven chemical groups, namely aromatic hydrocarbons, ketones and alcohols, phenolic aldehydes, sulfur compounds, terpenes, fatty acid derivatives, and alkaloids. The highest percentage of blood glucose reduction was observed in the group treated with ethanolic extract 500 mg/kg BW (50.25%), followed by glibenclamide (43.53%), ethyl acetate fraction 125 mg/kg BW (42.82%), ethanolic extract 250 mg/kg BW (41.88%), n-hexane fraction 125 mg/kg BW (34.96%), butanol fraction 125 mg/kg BW (34.28%), and ethanolic extract 125 mg/kg BW (34.14%), respectively. The ABTS assay produced IC₅₀ values for vitamin C, ethanolic extract, n-hexane fraction, ethyl acetate fraction, and butanol fraction of 8.00, 49.80, 110.25, 10.20, and 18.44 µg/mL, respectively. Network pharmacology analysis of compound 7 and compound 17 from the n-hexane fraction revealed antidiabetic potential through inhibition of the AGE–RAGE signaling pathway in diabetic complications. The key target proteins involved included MAPK1, MMP2, MAPK14, MAPK3, PIK3CA, and TGFBR1. In conclusion, the extracts and fractions of Arcangelisia flava exhibit strong potential as antidiabetic and antioxidant agents. The n-hexane fraction, in particular, is presumed to exert its antidiabetic activity through inhibition of the AGE–RAGE signaling pathway, which plays a critical role in diabetic complications.

Abstract

Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) play a strategic role in the Indonesian economy by absorbing labor, supporting economic growth, and promoting equitable community welfare. However, improving MSME performance remains an important challenge, particularly in ensuring that internal organizational factors can effectively support productivity, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This study aimed to examine the effects of organizational culture and organizational behavior on MSME performance in Makassar City. A quantitative research approach was employed using primary data collected through questionnaires distributed to 100 MSMEs in Makassar City. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis and Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 27.00. The results showed that organizational culture had a positive and significant effect on MSME performance, indicating that better implementation of organizational culture was associated with higher productivity, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Organizational behavior also had a positive and significant effect on MSME performance, demonstrating that effective organizational behavior further improved productivity, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. These findings indicate that organizational culture and organizational behavior are important internal factors in strengthening MSME performance. The study contributes to the understanding of organizational factors that support MSME development and provides practical implications for MSME owners and managers in developing a supportive organizational culture and effective behavior to improve performance and competitiveness in Makassar City.
