To overcome the crisis, it needed torepair the leadership models that are able to change and improve social and nationallife. The mandate of the university is shaping and sharpening thinking of thelecturers, students, and alumni to always siding, thinking and acting for the benefitand improvement of the surrounding communities. One alternative models ofleadership that are relevant to college is spiritual leadership.Spiritual leadership has been tested and researched by Louis W. Fry ( 2003)along with the comrades in the context of different organizations and the resultsshow the possibility of the application of this theoretical model for various types oforganizations. The study was conducted using qualitative research andcase study approach.Spiritual leadership in STAIN Purwokerto is constructed based on threeimportant things: First, the existence of spiritual values that were held by leaders andserve as an ideology or belief to motivate himself and others. Spiritual values arevalues such are togetherness, belief or determination, and obeying the rules. Second, building tradition of spiritual leadership that is reflected in the actions taken byleaders in achieving the vision to be achieved by STAIN Purwokerto. The habitualprocess is done by sticking to spiritual values carried. Then it is implemented byissuing flagship programs supported by strategic policies carried out intensively sothat it becomes a regular agenda of the academic community and staff as well as toproduce a healthy organizational culture and quality. Third, organizational culture isfostered by building a dynamic atmosphere, full of family-like-feeling, cooperation, open and respectful in terms of spiritual, intellectual and professional. The efforts aremade from simple things and daily life by providing deep meaning so that it can beused as a driver towards the direction of progress .

Abstract

An innovation of a curriculum of a Study Program in a higher education institution is necessary to fulfill the needs of stakeholders that always change and develop. However, this change needs deep consideration and research because curriculum is a fundamental aspect in education and it is a means ofmea suring, evaluating, and understanding all education processes. Curriculum change in Communication and Islamic Broadcasting Program has already had an epistemological scientific basis. In its planning, the change of curriculum is based on the change of national and institutional regulations as well as the development of communication science. Meanwhile, its structure of knowledge is developed from the integration of religion, da’wa, and communication sciences. This structure is derived from learning objectives in Communication and Islamic Broadcasting Program. In implementing curriculum, lecturers have referred to competencies students have to master and have used appropriate materials developed from the structure of knowledge to be developed in Communication and Islamic Broadcast ing Program. Moreover, to improve lecturers’ capacity and professionalism, STAIN Purwokerto facilitates the lecturers to continue their study in doctoral programs and to join training on active learning. However, there are some aspects that should be evaluated, such as lesson plan, implementation of learning strategy, and monitoring students’ development. Finally, regular evaluation is needed to improve the curriculum of Communication and Islamic Broadcasting Program.

Abstract

Da ’wa fardiycih is one of the common activities in Islamic preaching and has been applied since earlier period of Islam. However, it has not applied scientific development so that it goes naturally. Referring to this case, this paper tries to discuss the epistemology of da ’wa fardiyah. The study on essence of da ’wa fardiyah will be started from the use of the term itself Since the term is not specifically found in the Quran, its definition is taken from interpersonal communication. The writer try to build a derived definition as follow: Da’wa fardiyah is face to face interaction between one individual and the other or between an individual and small group of people in order to change the individual or small group of people to live in the way of Islamic teachings. How to develop relation is applied gradually. It started from developing positive perception to mad’u and followed with developing cultural and social relation. The third phase is applied through a closed relation con- sidering potentials and differences in every individual.

Abstract

The progress of mass media is influenced by the development of social theories. One interesting case to be discussed is the relation between ideology and mass media. There are three main groups which have different views on the relation between ideology and mass media. Marxist States that mass media is an institution which can be used to socialize false ideology built by borjuis class. Another group, the liberal pluralist, States that mass media is an institution which is free from interventions of State, political parties, and other repressing groups so that ideology has no relationship with mass media. The third, the critical group, States that texts produced by mass media is not free from any conflicts and interests. This group tries to rebuild the relationship between ideology and mass media. However, the ideology developed by this group is not an flght ideology or false awareness, but an ideology emphasizing on the articulation of meaning or ideology which functions as a discussion and logical social process.

Abstract

In this globalization and information era, the role of multicultural counseling is very urgent for the community. Given the cultural exchange between one country and another country is so massive. If a counselor only focuses on the client's person without regard to the cultural factors influence it, then the process of implementing counseling can cause bias and ineffective. In its historical development, the theory and practice of multicultural counseling is still dominated by multicultural counseling originating from the West. Meanwhile, Indonesia is a country where the majority of the population is Muslim and in terms of culture differs from rational, individualist, and materialist of Western cultures. Therefore, this paper describes multicultural counseling in an Islamic perspective as an alternative to the development of multicultural counseling in Indonesia. The different human concepts, cultures, and values developed by Islam form the basic foundation in the multicultural counseling process. From this basic difference, the author further explains the competence and practice of multicultural counseling in Islam, especially in Indonesia. In obtaining the comprehensive data, the authors conducted a qualitative study by taking data sources derived from the al-Qur'an, al-Hadith, and the results of the thinking of Muslim scientists related to multicultural counseling.

Abstract

Gig economy has recently circling in the society in the digital era. It has been a result of risk society as described by Beck in his book. Though researches have been made by Standing, Stephany dan Prassl to address the various risk exposed by it onto society, there is little evidence society would not expose to its excesses. This writing is made as part of research in gig economy that argues the race to the bottom of gig economy has contributed to society. The findings include how exploitation, job insecurity, mental and health crisis are generated from informalisation of works in gig mode of economy. The most essential thing is how Islam offer the new mode of economy based on its fundamental views of social welfare and individual interest based on moral economy as a solution to the race of the bottom occurring in gig economy.

Abstract

Today's competition requires each product to develop a co-branding strategy in reaching the market, especially in the digital era where social networking is a space to build brand identities. So this research was conducted to find out how to co-brand Compass Shoes on social networks. To find out how much influence the co-branding variable has on social networks, seen from the dimensions of social networks by measuring social networks—using a quantitative-explanatory methodology, a data collection using a random questionnaire with a total of 398 respondents who meet the characteristics of the sample. The results of this study have a hypothesis where the exogenous variable, namely co-branding, has a significant effect on the endogenous variable, namely social networking. Creating co-branding, of course, must have a strong strategy in innovation and be able to understand consumer desires by providing collaboration space to build a shared identity.
