Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the PBL learning model on students' critical thinking skills in plant propagation system material. The method used in this study was a quasi-experimental with the matching-only posttest only control group design research model, with a non-random assignment sampling technique consisting of class VIII-A as the experimental class and class VIII-B as the control class, respectively. -each as many as 20 students in each class. The results of this study indicate that there is no effect of the PBL learning model on students' critical thinking skills. Key words: PBL model, critical thinking ability, plant reproduction system   ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran PBL terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada materi sistem perkembangbiakan tumbuhan. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu eksperimen kuasi dengan model penelitian the matching-only posttest only control group design,  dengan Teknik pengambilan sampel non-random assignment yang terdiri dari kelas VIII-A sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII-B sebagai kelas kontrol, masing-masing sebanyak 20 peserta didik pada setiap kelasnya. Hasil penelitian ini menujukkan bahwa tidak terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran PBL terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Kata kunci: Model PBL, Kemampuan berpikir kritis, sistem perkembangbiakan tumbuhan

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to explore the understanding and effectiveness of teachers' responses to the socialisation and training on scientific article writing strategies at Al-Hidayah Foundation. Methodology: The research method used in this study is a quantitative method with a descriptive statistical approach. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires and questionnaires distributed to teachers participating in training and socialization. The questionnaire was designed to measure initial understanding, changes in perception, and increased ability to write scientific articles before and after training. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistics assisted by SPSS. Main Findings: This socialisation and training is designed to improve teachers' skills and knowledge in writing publishable scientific articles, motivated by the need to improve the quality of education and learning in schools, teachers are expected not only to act as teachers but also as researchers who actively contribute to the development of science, with the socialisation of this training it was found that some teachers were still confused about how to compile good and correct scientific articles. Novelty/Originality of this study: This research introduces a new training method or strategy, this research includes an evaluation or analysis of the impact of the training. Overall, this research can advance knowledge by providing a new model or approach in scientific writing training for teachers, as well as offering new insights that can be applied in broader educational context.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether elementary school teachers know the traditional game "Engklek" can be integrated into learning. Because, by following the 2013 curriculum implemented by the government must integrate the values that are around into learning. The research method used is a mixed method with a sequential explanatory model, in which the number of samples in this study were 34 respondents who came from elementary school teachers in Batanghari through observation sheets and interviews conducted with respondents. The results in this study the teacher has a good category of teacher knowledge of traditional games, will remain, the teachers do not know that traditional games can be integrated into learning, even though by applying them into learning in addition to educating students, it can also help preserve their culture.

Abstract

This research develops e-module teaching materials by using a digitalized book application based on ethno constructivism and also discerns students' responses to the e-modules. We employed the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate) to create the books. The ADDIE model consists of five steps, namely (1) introduction, (2) planning, (3) development, (4) implementation, and (5) evaluation. The subjects of this study were 21 fifth-grade students of elementary schools 112/I. The results of this study captured that the product was favored by most of the students with percentages of interest (72.73percent), motivation (77.27percent), and perception (63.6percent).

Abstract

This study aims to explore the Gumpang Temple as a source of learning mathematics for geometry in junior high school. The form of learning that comes from nature is ethnomathematics. The researcher describes how the Gumpang Temple will be a fun and exciting source of learning. This study uses a qualitative approach. Data collection was obtained by observation and literature sources. The data findings were analyzed using qualitative data analysis with descriptive methods. The results of this study indicate that the wealth of ethnomatematic literature using Gumpang Temple is quite a lot. Various approaches and formulas can be applied to the teaching of geometry. These findings lead researchers to conduct further research to explore the manufacture of teaching materials using different research approaches.

Abstract

Currently, local wisdom is getting eroded. Local wisdom is a habit of the local community that has noble values so that efforts need to be made to preserve it, such as the local wisdom of the nek pung dance in Jambi province, Indonesia. This paper aimed to analyze the local wisdom of the nek pung dance and the educational curriculum to be linked and integrated into science learning. This study uses a qualitative approach by collecting natural information from several sources, namely traditional leaders, community leaders, education and culture offices, and elementary school teachers. In addition, researchers also analyzed educational curriculum documents, teacher books, and student books. The results analysis showed the that local wisdom of the nek pung dance can be integrated into grade 4 on theme I the beauty of togetherness, sub-theme I cultural diversity of my people, in learning 1 which includes science competency as one of the competencies.

Abstract

Salah satu masalah yang sering dihadapi oleh masyarakat di daerah tersebut adalah sulitnya mendapatkan air bersih dalam jumlah yang cukup, terutama saat musim kemarau. Sistem perpipaan yang kurang optimal dan ketiadaan mesin dinamo air yang andal sering kali menyebabkan distribusi air menjadi tidak merata dan tidak mencukupi kebutuhan harian warga. Hal ini dapat berdampak negatif pada kualitas hidup masyarakat, termasuk kesehatan dan produktivitas mereka. Program ini dirancang berdasarkan hasil identifikasi kebutuhan dan diskusi dengan masyarakat setempat, sehingga solusi yang diberikan benar-benar sesuai dengan kondisi dan kebutuhan mereka. Dengan melibatkan masyarakat secara aktif dalam proses perencanaan dan pelaksanaan, diharapkan kegiatan ini tidak hanya menyelesaikan masalah teknis, tetapi juga memberdayakan warga untuk menjaga dan memelihara sistem yang telah dibangun secara mandiri. Program ini akan dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan beberapa metode utama yakni Pendekatan Partisipatif, Survei dan Analisis Kebutuhan, Pemberdayaan dan Pelatihan Masyarakat, Kolaborasi dengan Pihak Terkait, Monitoring dan Evaluasi. Melalui partisipasi aktif masyarakat, instalasi sistem perpipaan yang baru dan pemasangan mesin dinamo air dapat diselesaikan secara tepat waktu dan sesuai dengan spesifikasi teknis yang telah dirancang, Dengan adanya sistem perpipaan yang lebih efisien dan dukungan mesin dinamo air yang andal, air bersih kini dapat didistribusikan secara merata ke kamar mandi di kawasan pantai Oesina.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik katalis Cr/SiO2 untuk penggunaannya pada proses perengkahan katalitik CPO serta mengetahui aktivitas katalis Cr/SiO2 pada proses perengkahan katalitik CPO. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah penelitian eksperimen laboratorium, katalis hasil sintesis dianalisis dengan metode X-ray Difraktion dan SEM-EDS, katalis Cr/SiO2 hasil sintesis digunakan pada proses perengkahan katalitik CPO dengan memvariasikan jumlah CPO, perbandingan katalis:CPO (1:20;1:25;1:30). Bensin diperoleh memisahkan bensin dari Cairan Hasil Perengkahan (CHP) dengan cara destilasi. Hasil persentase konversi CHP yang diperoleh dari perengkahan katalitik Katalis:CPO (1:20;1:25;1:30) yaitu 58.53%;74.08%;58.76%. Sedangkan persentase konversi bensin pada perengkahan katalitik dengan perbandingan katalis:CPO (1:20;1:25;1:30) yaitu 9,91%;11,23%;8,09%. Arang dari limbah pabrik kelapa sawit dapat dijadikan sumber silika dan bisa disintesis menjadi katalis Cr/SiO2. 2. Katalis Cr/SiO2 sebagian besar mengandung SiO2 yang mempunyai sistem Kristal Hexagonal dan Cr/SiO2 mempunyai sistem Kristal Orthohombic. Namun demikian hasil sintesis katalis Cr/SiO2 pada penelitian ini kurang selektif untuk perengkahan katalitik CPO dibuktikan dengan peningkatan persentase konversi bensin yang tidak terlalu signifikan.

Abstract

This pioneering research embarks on an ambitious quest to assess the conceptual, procedural feasibility, and efficacy of a groundbreaking educational intervention, the Discovery Learning model teaching module infused with the innovative PhET application aimed at enhancing students' generic skills proficiency in the domain of chemistry. In a departure from conventional methodologies, this study employs a rigorous Research and Development (R&D) framework underpinned by the renowned 4-D Model to craft and validate this transformative pedagogical tool meticulously. The research cohort comprises high school students and chemistry educators poised at the vanguard of educational innovation. Employing a meticulously designed set of validation and response questionnaires, the study harnesses the power of descriptive and inferential statistics to glean profound insights into the impact of the intervention. The findings illuminate a resounding success: the Discovery Learning model teaching module, seamlessly integrated with the PhET application, exhibits exceptional validity and practicality and yields tangible improvements in students' generic chemistry science skills. Moreover, the overwhelmingly positive feedback from both educators and students, coupled with discernible disparities in responses between the experimental and control groups, underscores the transformative potential of this cutting-edge educational tool. This research's novelty lies in its pioneering development and validation of a PhET application-based Discovery Learning module, heralding a paradigm shift in secondary school chemistry education with the promise of fostering a new generation of scientifically literate and adept learners primed to navigate the complexities of the modern world.

Abstract

This study ventures into uncharted territory by delving into the intricate tapestry of character values embodied by elementary school students, as delineated within the pages of the Independent Curriculum Class IV Science Teacher's Book. While the significance of character education in shaping young minds is widely acknowledged, this research pioneers a novel approach by scrutinizing the nuanced portrayal of character values embedded within the curriculum materials tailored for fourth-grade students. Leveraging a qualitative methodology, researchers conducted an exhaustive document study, meticulously collecting and analyzing the requisite literature, including softbooks and hardbooks. The findings unearth a compelling revelation: amidst the prescribed curriculum, certain character values crucial for holistic development are conspicuously absent, potentially undermining the efficacy of the teaching and learning process. Such gaps in character education not only impede academic progress but also exert deleterious effects on students' social and emotional well-being, both within the classroom environment and beyond. By spotlighting these lacunae, this study underscores the imperative for a comprehensive overhaul of character education initiatives, advocating for a more robust integration of essential values into the educational fabric. The research serves as a clarion call for educators and policymakers alike to redouble their efforts in nurturing a generation imbued with exemplary character values, thereby fostering a more compassionate and resilient society.
