Abstract

Physical literacy is an essential outcome of physical education and plays an important role in promoting lifelong engagement in physical activity. This study aimed to describe the physical literacy profiles of elementary school students based on gender. A descriptive quantitative survey was conducted involving 82 students from SDN Cimahi Mandiri 5, consisting of 45 boys and 37 girls. Data were collected using the Physical Literacy in Children Questionnaire (PL-C Quest), which assesses four domains: physical, psychological, social, and cognitive. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including mean, standard deviation, minimum and maximum scores, percentages, and norm-referenced categorization. The results showed that boys demonstrated a higher overall physical literacy score (M = 91.16) than girls (M = 84.95). Overall, most students were categorized at the medium level (41.5%). Across all participants, the social domain obtained the highest mean score (3.02), followed by the physical (3.01), psychological (2.92), and cognitive (2.82) domains. Boys showed higher mean scores in the physical, social, and cognitive domains, whereas girls demonstrated slightly higher scores in the psychological domain. These findings indicate that differences in physical literacy profiles were observed between boys and girls across several domains. The results provide baseline information for designing more adaptive and inclusive physical education programs that accommodate students' characteristics and support the development of physical literacy in elementary schools.

Abstract

Research on mathematics learning interest in primary education has grown rapidly over the past two decades, yet no bibliometric study has systematically mapped its intellectual structure and thematic evolution. This study aimed to map the research landscape of mathematics learning interest in primary education by identifying publication trends, research productivity, and dominant research themes. A bibliometric analysis was conducted on 92 articles indexed in Scopus from 1982 to 2025 using Bibliometrix and VOSviewer. Findings reveal an annual growth rate of 6.66% with a significant surge after 2018, with China, the United States, and Turkey dominating research output. Nine thematic clusters were identified, with dominant themes including mathematics achievement and anxiety, motivation and learning interest, and self-concept and self-efficacy. The fragmented co-authorship network indicates limited international collaboration in this field. These findings provide a comprehensive intellectual map for researchers and education practitioners to identify research gaps and build a more structured collaborative agenda for future inquiry. Abstract

Early childhood sexual education is an essential preventive effort to protect children from sexual violence and to form body awareness and a sense of security from an early age. Kindergarten (TK) teachers play a strategic role in delivering this education, but its implementation in Indonesia still faces obstacles, especially due to the ambivalent to negative attitudes of teachers. This study aims to analyze the attitudes of kindergarten teachers towards early childhood sexual education through a systematic literature study approach. A total of 15 national and international scientific articles were reviewed using a thematic approach based on Azwar's attitude theory, which includes three dimensions: cognitive, affective, and conative. The results of the study showed that in the cognitive dimension, teachers still have a wrong and limited understanding of the concept of sexual education. In the affective dimension, teachers showed feelings of discomfort, shame, and fear, which were influenced by cultural and religious values. While in the conative dimension, teachers tended to be passive and avoided sexual topics in learning. However, several interventions such as training and the use of educational media have been shown to improve teacher readiness. This study emphasizes the importance of systematic training, policy support, and contextual pedagogical approaches to strengthen teachers' attitudes towards early childhood sexual education as a whole.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of traditional games on the fine motor skills of children aged 4–5 years at Manar Al-Ummat Plus Kindergarten. Traditional games such as congklak and marbles are believed to be effective and fun media to stimulate children's fine motor skills, especially in eye-hand coordination, as well as manipulative skills. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design involving two groups, namely the experimental class that received treatment in the form of traditional games and the control class without such treatment. The sample consisted of 20 children divided equally into two groups. Data collection was carried out through pretests and posttests using fine motor skills observation sheets based on STPPA indicators (Permendikbud No. 137 of 2014). The results of the analysis showed a significant increase in children's fine motor skills in the experimental class compared to the control class. Thus, traditional games are proven to have a positive influence in developing fine motor skills in early childhood and can be used as an alternative learning method based on local culture that is contextual and educational

Abstract

Teacher performance is one of the key factors in improving the quality of education. One factor believed to influence teacher performance is the principal’s transformational leadership, both directly and through increased teacher job satisfaction. This study aims to analyze the effect of transformational leadership on teacher job satisfaction and performance and to examine the role of job satisfaction as a mediating variable. The study employs a quantitative approach using a descriptive-verificative method. The sample consists of 76 elementary school teachers in Panjalu Subdistrict, Ciamis Regency, selected using a saturation sampling technique. Data were collected via a questionnaire and analyzed using path analysis. The results indicate that both transformational leadership and teacher job satisfaction fall into the high category. Transformational leadership was found to have a positive and significant effect on both teacher job satisfaction and performance. Furthermore, job satisfaction also had a positive and significant effect on teacher performance and acted as a mediator in the relationship between transformational leadership and teacher performance. These findings suggest that the implementation of transformational leadership by school principals can enhance teachers’ job satisfaction, which ultimately leads to improved teacher performance.
