Abstract

This research aims to examine the effect of organizational support and turn of duty on employee performance through work engagement at the Surabaya City Transportation Agency. This study uses a quantitative approach and survey technique involving Civil Servants at the Surabaya City Transportation Agency as respondents. Data was collected through questionnaires distributed to employees. Data analysis was performed using statistical techniques to test the relationships between the variables studied. The sample of this study consists of 76 staff-level employees from various work units and educational levels. The data from the sample were analyzed using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) based on partial least squares (SEM-PLS). The findings indicate that: 1)  organizational support  has a non-significant effect on performance; 2) turn of duty  has a non-significant effect on performance; and 3)  organizational support has a significant effect on performance through work engagement; 4)  turn of duty has a significant effect on performance through work engagement. This indicates that although employee engagement at the workplace increases both through organizational support and turn of duty, it does not directly or indirectly enhance employee performance. Work engagement acts as a crucial mediator where employees who feel engaged with their work tend to have a better understanding of their duties and responsibilities and are intrinsically motivated to work responsibly.

Abstract

Tourist village plays an important role in rural development in Indonesia. Nevertheless, tourist village is also prone to external shocks such as national and global economic volatilities and recent public health events of the Covid-19 pandemic. This study attempts to analyze a temporal variations of tourist village economic resilience from pandemic shock in 24 tourist village destinations covering the period of 2019-2022 in Indonesia. A synthetic composite index of the Adjusted Mazziotta-Pareto Index (AMPI) was used to measure resilience, followed by clustering analysis to determine the typology of the resilience. The resilience index was composed of capacity and performance dimension related to resilience. The results show that most villages were severely affected in the first year of Covid-19, yet they recovered afterward, as indicated by positive differences in the AMPI index before and after Covid-19. This result shows that tourist villages in Indonesia have a tendency of strong capacity and performance to recover from the pandemic shock. The economic components of the capacity and performance were able to readjust after the pandemic indicating that these components are relatively adaptable to the shocks. The indicator that has the most significant influence on the typology of resilience in the performance dimension is the number of visitors. Meanwhile, the Development Village Index (DVI) indicator is the most significant influence on the capacity dimension.

Abstract

This study aims to design picture books on endemic animals based on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) values to foster global citizenship character among junior high school students. Conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Pangenan and Bandung Independent School, the research involved 120 seventh-grade students in the Civics Education subject. Using the Research and Development (R&D) methodology, the study followed a systematic process of designing, developing, and validating the educational materials to ensure alignment with SDG values, particularly those promoting environmental sustainability and global responsibility. The findings indicate that the picture books not only engaged students effectively but also facilitated a deeper understanding of global citizenship through relatable local contexts. Students demonstrated an increased awareness of biodiversity and the importance of conserving endemic species as part of their civic responsibilities. The study contributes to educational literature by highlighting the potential of SDG-based picture books as impactful tools for character education, aligning with both national and international educational goals. This research offers a model for integrating global issues into local curricula, promoting a more comprehensive approach to character development that aligns with global citizenship objectives. The outcomes suggest that such materials can be beneficial in other educational settings to cultivate an appreciation for environmental stewardship and global interconnectedness among young learners.

Abstract

The paradox of natural resource management is the finding that is the basis for this study. The paradox shows that areas that depend on natural resource management, such as mining and quarrying, have lower scores in supervision, partnerships, and law enforcement scores than areas with no income from mining and quarrying activities. The Qualitative, quantitative comparative analysis (QCA) method is used to find the pathway that causes the paradox in each research area; QCA will provide a general pathway as to why an area has different characteristics from other regions even though they have identical scores and indicators in statistical measurements. As the result, The qualitative comparative analysis (QCA) shows that regional areas with a high composite index score have certain pathway characteristics, such as the high integrity of public employees and the low level of corrupt behavior in the area.

Abstract

Registration of marriages is important for the creation of orderly administration, especially in the case of marriage certificates, other functions as well as one of the prerequisites for obtaining civil rights so as to avoid prejudice and misperceptions that can lead to legal records. One of the absolute competencies of the Religious Courts is itsbat marriages (nikah itsbat) which has the purpose of requesting marriage legalization so that it has legal force for couples who are married according to religion and do not yet have proof of a marriage certificate. This study has the aim of examining the submission of itsbat marriage in Cidokom Village, Rumpin District, Bogor. This community service uses the PAR method by planning observing then carrying out activities. Based on the results of the first research, Itsbat marriage is an application for marriage legalization that is submitted to the court to declare the marriage valid and has legal force based on Article 7 compilation of Islamic law. In accordance with the provisions above, itsbat marriage can only be filed through the Religious Courts, in the area where the applicant lives, not through the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA). Second, the legal consequences of holding foreign marriage constituencies are not much different from the legal consequences arising from marriages in Indonesia, namely the emergence of rights and obligations of husband and wife, rights and obligations of parents and their powers, guardianship rights and legal consequences that arise. others caused by marriage. This legal consequence arises when the registration of marriages on religious marriages is legal in the eyes of Indonesian law, namely by issuing a marriage certificate court decision in the form of a Marriage Certificate for marriages between husband and wife that have been carried out according to religion.
