Abstract

Kesulitan belajar spesifik adalah suatu keadaan pada seorang anak yang mengalami ketidakmampuan dalam belajar, keadaan ini disebabkan gangguan proses belajar di dalam otak, yang dapat berupa gangguan persepsi (visual atau auditoris), gangguan dalam proses integratif atau gangguan ekspresif. Disleksia merupakan gangguan dalam kesulitan membaca dan Diskalkulia merupakan gangguan dalam kesulitan berhitung. Masalah muncul karena kurangnya perhatian terhadap anak yang mengalami kedua gangguan tersebut. Serta kurangnya pemahaman akan kedua gangguan tersebut terhadap anak dan belum adanya media khusus yang dapat dijadikan sebagai metode terapi terhadap kedua gangguan tersebut.Dari permasalahan diatas dibuat media pembelajaran sebagai terapi untuk anak yang mengalami gangguan dalam kesulitan membaca dan kesulitan berhitung. Media belajar yang cocok untuk menarik anak disleksia dan diskalkulia  adalah dalam bentuk aplikasi game.  Konsep permainan yang dikembangkan  adalah anak diajak untuk mengenal huruf dan angka serta dapat membedakannya juga. Kemudian anak diajak untuk menghafalkan huruf dan angka tertentu yang menurut mereka sulit untuk dihafalkan. Dan yang terakhir anak diajak untuk menjawab pertanyaan dan menghitung dengan soal matematika dasar.Pengembangan aplikasi game ini menggunakan metodologi analisa terhadap anak disleksia dan diskalkulia. Kemudian mencari konsep game yang cocok bagi anak disleksia dan diskalkulia. Konsep tersebut digunakan untuk menentukan dalam pembuatan desain game dan background untuk diimplementasikan di unity3d. Terakhir adalah building game pada perangkat dan testing untuk kelayakan game. Aplikasi game yang telah berhasil dibuat diberi nama game “Two Dis”. Hasil yang diharapkan dari Pembuatan game “Two Dis” berbasis android ini adalah dapat menjadi salah satu media terapi dan media pembelajaran baru bagi anak disleksia dan diskalkulia dengan metode bermain game.

Abstract

Permasalahan didunia pendidikan meliputi  kualitas pendidikan dan kuantitas pendidikan. Kualitas pendidikan terkait dengan mutu pendidikan yang diharapkan oleh masyarakat sedangkan kuantitas pendidikan terkait dengan pemerataan memperoleh akses pendidikan tanpa ada kesenjangan dan pengecualian. Kondisi geografis  menjadikan tantangan bagi kementrian pendidikan indonesia untuk memberikan layanan yang bermutu dan merata untuk semua khalayak masyarakat. Solusi yang bisa dikembangkan adalah optimalisasi peran Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi (TIK) dalam dunia pendidikan pendidikan diwujudkan dengan pengembangan pembelajaran online (e-learning).  Pada penelitian ini, e-learning dikembangkan berfokus pada Sekolah Menengah Atas. Aplikasi e-learning dikembangkan dengan teknologi web. Aktor yang terlibat meliputi admin, guru dan siswa. Fitur yang diberikan meliputi upload materi, upload tugas, diskusi, dan quiz online. Pada aplikasi ini juga ditambahkan fitur absensi ibadah sholat jum’at bagi siswa yang beragama islam.

Abstract

This research is conducted to identify the methods used by the translator in translating Tolstoy’s God Sees the Truth, But Waits, to describe the degree of equivalence between the English original version and the Indonesian translation of the short story, and to show the relation between them. The translation method used in this research are proposed by Newmark, while the degrees of equivalence are analyzed using Bell’s. This research applies qualitative method to describe the aims of this study. The data are analyzed by comparing the English short story and its Indonesian translation. After the data are identified, they are examined to find the relation between the methods used and the degrees of equivalence.The findings of this study show that (1) six translation methods were used to translate God Sees the Truth, but Waits into Indonesian, These include semantic translation, communicative translation, literal translation, adaptation, free translation and word-for-word translation, (2) In terms of the degree of equivalence, it was found that 57 data are partly equivalent with increased meaning, 41 data are fully equivalent, 39 data are non-equivalent with different meaning, 32 data are partly equivalent with decreased meanig and 1 datum are non-equivalent with no meaning, (3) most of the translation methods used produce partly equivalent translation with increased meaning.

Abstract

Identity crisis is a psychological condition that happened to an individual because of the confusion of roles someone experienced in the society. This study was conducted to analyze the significance of memory in solving individual's identity crisis depicted in James Dashner's The Maze Runner. The purposes of this study are to describe how identity crisis depicted in the novel and to explain what factors cause an identity crisis. This study was done using a descriptive qualitative method and using Erikson's psychosocial theory to explore the identity crisis of the main character in the form of words. The object of the study was the novel The Maze Runner and this study focused on Thomas as the main character. List of an observational sheet was used as the research instrument and the data was taken through library research. The analysis was conducted by interpreting Thomas’ utterances and actions using Erikson’ stages of development’s theory to describe Thomas’ identity crisis. The study results showed that the identity crisis Thomas’ experienced was the results of the changing environmental condition and Thomas’ missing memories that made him unable to make new sets of values needed to form an identity. In order to solve his identity crisis, Thomas had to remember old memories he had forgotten in order to create new sets of values.

Abstract

Kurikulum 2013 yang sering disebut k-13 adalah kurikulum terbaru yang menggantikan kurikulum k-13. Komponen penilaiannya adalah sikap, keterampilan, pengetahuan, perilaku. Guru mengalami kesulitan dalam penilaian sikap dan pengetahuan yang harus dinilai setiap hari. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut adalah dengan mengembangkan aplikasi yang mampu mempermudah dalam mencatat hasil setiap pembelajaran siswa dan hasil pembelajaran tersebut dapat dilaporakan kepada wali siswa. Aplikasi dikembangkan dengan metode waterfall, dimulai dengan pengumpulan data, analisis, perancangan dan implementasi   hingga   pada   uji   coba   sistem   informasi.   Aplikasi   dikembangkan   dengan   bahasa pemrograman JAVA dan MySQL sebagi database. Produk yang dihasilkan berupa aplikasi penilaian sikap dan pengetahuan berbasis Andorid dapat diakses oleh guru dan wali siswa atau orang tua . Guru dapat mencatat semua hasil belajar dari siswa tiap pertemua. Wali siswa atau orang tua dapat melihat hasil belajar   melalui perangakat mobile android. Dengan demikian akan menambah peran aktif wali siswa dalam pendidikan anak dijenjang sekolah dasar.

Abstract

This article discusses the translation errors in Indonesian-English translation practice that were made by the students. It is based on the research in English Education Undergraduate Program, UNNES. Descriptive qualitative research method, specifically qualitative data analysis was used in this research. The subjects of the study were the students in Indonesian-English Translation Course. The object of the research was the Indonesian-English translation product, produced by the students. The object of the study was translation products which were produced by the students. The data were collected by using a translation test, questionnaires, and interviews. Moreover, the data were analyzed using qualitative data analysis. The result of the analysis showed that there were 21 translation errors of 26 error categories according to ATA’s Framework for Standardized Error Making. In conclusion, the three most prominent error categories made by the students were grammar, syntax, and faithfulness error. The errors were mostly influenced by extratextual factors such as sender, intention, recipient, medium, time, motive, and text function. In addition, lexis was also an influencing factor in making errors.

Abstract

The important of translation can be seen in our daily life. Translation can be found in many aspects of our life such as books, newspaper, magazines, novel, comics, even movies. One important aspect in translation study is class shift. Class shift deals with the changing of word classes in source language to the target language. Hence one language and others are different, this study aimed to know the influence of class shift on achieving semantic meaning in the English-Indonesian translation of Yule’s pragmatics. Qualitative research is the type of this research and descriptive qualitative as research design. There are three chapters of the book which are chosen randomly as the data on this study. The total number of data is 98 from those three chapters. The results of the study show that there are seven types of class shift which are found in this study such as adjective to adverb, adjective to noun, adjective to verb, adverb to adjective, adverb to noun, adverb to verb, and verb to adjective. There are two types of class shift which often appear in this study. Those are adjective to noun and adverb to adjective. Class shift can be occurred anytime. The occurrence of class shifts does not guarantee anything in achieving meaning of a sentence.

Abstract

This study aims to classifyand identify how the semantic equivalence of culture-specific terms achieved in English-Indonesian translation of novel The Duchess War. The aims then break down into five, following Newmark’s categorization of culture-specific terms; ecology, material, social, organizations, customs, and ideasand thelast is gestures and habits. The original novel investigated entitled The Duchess War by Courtney Milan and its translation entitled “Skandal Sang Duchess”translatedy Eka Budiarti as the subject of this study. The limitation of this study covers up the semantic equivalence of culture-specific terms of the English-Indonesian translation of novel The Duchess Warby considering the seven types of meaning proposed by Leech (1974); conceptual, connotative, stylistic, affective, reflective, collocative, and thematic meaning.Descriptive qualitative research is employed in this study. The data gathered through 490 sentences containing culture-specific terms were identified and after reducing the redundancy of the data, researcher found there are 106 types of culture-specific terms and categorized into five categorizations following Newmark’s. The result shows of 106 culture-specific terms, there are 20,75% ecology culture, 39,62% of material culture, 16,04% of social culture, 21,70% of organizations, customs, and ideas, and the last is gestures and habits that has 1,89% of data.Based on the data, there are some similar culture-specific terms found based on the data gained. The same culture-specific terms categorization found, but the meaning is different, or the same in meaning but different in TT translation. Those happened because the translator considers the context in the usage of certain terms. All the data has been examined by the expert and the different meaning due to the suitable context in the novel The Duchess War. Hence, the culture-specific terms between ST and TT are semantically equivalent.

Abstract

The present study is caused by Juvenile delinquency and the problem of moral deficiency of young generations nowadays. The character building is recently much needed in Indonesian education as a way to overcome those problems because strengthening personal and social of morality is one of the fundamental aims of life and moral education is one of important aspects of education. The Ministry of Education (MOE) of the Republic of Indonesia is implementing its new curriculum named 2013 Curriculum. One of the ultimate goals of this new curriculum is to improve the moral and character of the students. This study was aimed to describe how the teachers implement character education in English teaching learning process at SMP N 1 Kebonagung Demak. The data were obtained by conducting a document study, observations and interviews. The subject of this research were two English teachers in SMP N 1 Kebonagung as purposive sampling who taught in the classroom observed to get the data about implementation of character education in learning process classroom. This study revealed that teachers had implemented some character values in the teaching learning process. The most frequent was religiousness, honesty, discipline, perseverance/hard work, independence, democracy, curiosity, achievement respect, responsibility, communicative competence of character values into their teaching learning process. Moreover, the implementation of character education gives teachers with several advantages and challenges in teaching process.

Abstract

Penetapan awal bulan Dzulhijjah dan puasa arafah oleh pemerintah Arab Saudi lebih dahulu atau cepat satu hari dari yang dilaksanakan umat Islam Indonesia pada umumnya. Pelaksanaan puasa Arafah yang lebih awal dari ketentuan yang ditetapkan di indonesia oleh Menteri Agama RI berpengaruh kepada pelaksanaan hari raya Idul Adha. Perhitungan penetapan awal bulan qamariyah yang digunakan oleh Arab Saudi adalah berdasarkan Kalender Umul Qura. Namun khusus penetapan waktu ibadah seperti Ramadhan, Syawal dan Dzulhijjah mengunakan rukyat murni yang didasarkan persaksian orang yang adil tanpa perlu dilakukan uji sains terhadap kebenaran laporan tersebut. Sementara itu metode yang digunakan Pemerintah Republik Indonesia, adalah dengan cara rukyatul hilal, wujudul hilal, imakanur rukyat dan rukyat global dengan memakai teknologi yang super canggih.
