Abstract

Muslim scholars play a central role in the development of knowledge that is beneficial and aligned with Islamic ethics, which emphasize moral and social responsibility in every scientific endeavor. However, awareness of these responsibilities still requires reinforcement so that scientific activities are not merely oriented toward academic achievement but also generate tangible social benefits. This study aims to identify implementable strategies for fostering moral and social responsibility among Muslim scholars from the perspective of the philosophy of science. The research employs a literature-based qualitative approach using critical descriptive analysis of key concepts in Islamic philosophy of science, scholarly ethics, character education, Islamic utilitarianism (maslahah), empathy, and Islamic hermeneutics. The main contribution of this study lies in the formulation of an integrative conceptual framework that connects Islamic philosophy of science with practical strategies for cultivating ethically responsible and socially committed Muslim scholars. The findings indicate that the integration of Islamic values, the strengthening of character education, and the development of empathy play a significant role in shaping scholars’ moral awareness and social responsibility. The implications of this study provide a conceptual and practical reference for Islamic educational institutions and scientific communities in developing an Islamic scientific culture oriented toward knowledge as an act of worship and as a means to enhance social welfare.

Abstract

Many teachers are still unable to manage student behavior effectively in accordance with Islamic values and 21st-century character. This is certainly a problem that needs to be addressed considering the rapid development of education in the 21st century. It certainly requires a deeper understanding of 21st-century education in solving this problem. Therefore, the aim of this study is to analyze and identify how the use of behavior management strategies by Islamic education teachers as leaders, role models, and religious figures can be implemented effectively in 21st-century learning. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method. The descriptive qualitative method is a method that portrays, describes, and presents the object being studied based on the situation and conditions when the research is conducted. The recommended effective strategy is an integrative model that combines spiritual leadership, character strengthening, and 21st-century skills. In this model, teachers play not only the role of instructors but also as moral leaders who set examples and guide the formation of Islamic character in a tangible way. The success of this strategy depends greatly on the collaboration between teachers, schools, and the community, creating an educational environment that is comprehensive and supports the optimal development of students' character, morals, and competencies across various learning settings.

Abstract

Indonesia's diverse society demands a tolerant attitude. However, it is a paradox in Indonesia's diverse society that the emergence of intolerant attitudes, radicalism and extremism, especially those targeting the millennial generation, is fearful, for this reason it is necessary to build a moderate understanding. From this background, researchers are interested in examining socio-culturally based religious moderation in the millennial generation in Arjawanangun Cirebon. Researchers use qualitative field methods with a phenomenological approach. Religious moderation occurs in the socio-cultural aspects of society, such as participating in social, religious, youth activities, commemorating national holidays, weddings, while still paying attention to the limits of tolerance. Karang Taruna organizations are a forum for interfaith youth interaction. The religious tolerance of the millennial generation cannot be separated from the role of education in the family which has been instilled by their parents.
