Abstract

Educational institutions have a responsibility to provide students with moral understanding to be able to face moral problems in society. Researchers worldwide make various efforts to discover the best strategies and formulate them into a framework for building the moral intelligence of students. This study provides a bibliometric overview of articles published in the Scopus database with the keywords 'moral intelligence' and 'students.'The bibliometric review was conducted using data processing tools, VOSviewer and Publish or Perish (PoP). The obtained data consisted of 17 articles, following five stages of the bibliometric review process: defining search keywords, determining initial search results, refining search results, compiling statistical data, and conducting analysis. The results of the bibliometric review indicate that the publication trends related to the moral intelligence of students globally tend to fluctuate. Iran is the country with the highest number of Scopus-indexed articles on the theme of students' moral intelligence, totaling ten articles. Meanwhile, the most significant citation trend for articles occurred in 2010, with a total of 26 citations. The limited amount of research conducted on the theme of students' moral intelligence presents an opportunity for researchers to explore novelty aspects.

Abstract

In the current era of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) development, learning media is undergoing transformation in its application. Teachers can use ICT in the application of varied and interactive media to help increase students' understanding of social studies materials such as ArcGIS Story Maps which can provide concrete visualization so that students will understand social studies material better. The purpose of the research was to analyze the influence of the application of ArcGIS Story Maps media about the Geographical Location of ASEAN Countries on the understanding of grade 8 students of SMPN 29 Bandung. This research uses quantitative approaches and experimental methods with quasi-experimental design, precisely non-equivalent control group design. Based on the results of the study, it was found that both in the experimental and control classes there were differences in students' understanding in the pre-test and post-test. If the two classes are compared, then in the pre-test there is no difference in understanding between the experimental and control classes with Asymp.Sig. (2- tailed) of 0.939 > 0.05, but in the post-test there is a difference in understanding with Asymp.Sig. (2- tailed) of 0.045 < 0.05. The N-Gain value of student comprehension is 1,622 > 1, indicating that there is a difference in understanding where learning using ArcGIS Story Maps media is more able to increase student understanding than learning with interactive Power Point. Suggestions from this study, social studies teachers can develop ArcGIS Story Maps media in the social studies learning process that is tailored to learning needs.

Abstract

Abstract: Fostering Food Sustainability: Enhancing Awareness Of Local Food Consumption Among Secondary School Students. Background and Objective: This study aims to explore the awareness of secondary school students regarding local food consumption, particularly in Serang City, Indonesia, through indicators of knowledge, attitudes, and behavior. Method: Involving 325 students, the research employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional survey design. Findings: The findings revealed that 70.2% of students demonstrated a good understanding of local food sustainability; however, only 61.4% showed positive attitudes, and 54.8% exhibited behavior aligned with local food consumption in daily life. Pearson correlation analysis indicated a significant but weak relationship between students’ knowledge and attitudes (r=0.112; p<0.05), while the relationships between knowledge and behavior, as well as attitudes and behavior, were not statistically significant. These inconsistencies suggest that increasing knowledge does not automatically lead to positive attitude and behavior changes. Therefore, a more integrated approach to food sustainability education is required, including the incorporation of sustainability themes into school curricula, project-based learning, and policies to control the availability of unhealthy processed foods on school campuses. These strategies align with achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production). Conklusion: In conclusion, while students demonstrate a good theoretical understanding, more effective interventions are needed to encourage the adoption of attitudes and behaviors that support sustainable and healthy local food consumption. This study recommends collaboration among the government, educational institutions, and communities to create a generation more conscious of food sustainability. Keywords: education, food sustainability, local food consumption, SDGs.

Abstract

Exploring Perceptions and Experiences: Integrating AI in English Language Teaching from the Perspectives of Learners and Educators. Purpose: This study aims to explore learners’ and faculty members’ perceptions of the enactment of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies in English Language Teaching (ELT) based on the Community of Inquiry (CoI) Framework; in particular, intending to investigate the perceived benefits, challenges, and pedagogical implications of artificial intelligence adoption in the Indonesian education landscape. Methods: Using a mixed-methods sequential explanatory design, the study commenced with quantitative data collection through questionnaires issued to learners and educators. The next phase involved qualitative data collection through in-depth interviews and focus group discussions, which provided greater depth of insight into participants’ experiences and attitudes. Findings: In this sense, it is significant that the positive impact of artificial intelligence on ELT was reported above. Educators also acknowledged the role of AI in enhancing traditional practices and facilitating classrooms that are more dynamic and student-centered. Nonetheless, there are concerns about privacy, data security, and whether AI-driven tools are culturally nuanced enough for language instruction. Conclusion: Such fears underscore the need for contextually appropriate implementation guidelines that adapt AI tools to align with pedagogy norms and moral codes found in local education systems. This work thus contributes to the growing literature on the implementation of AI technology in language education by providing empirical evidence of effective integration of this technology, particularly in Indonesia. The outcomes will serve not solely to inform educators and policymakers on the best practices surrounding AI integration throughout ELT but also to affirm the addressing of protection and cultural acclimatization challenges. Overall, the research sets forth a roadmap for AI’s potential pedagogical role in shaping language instruction practice and policy. Keywords: artificial intelligence, community of inquiry, english language teaching, experiences, perceptions.
