Abstract

Tafsir is an effort to understand the Quran to find out the meaning and content of the verses of the Quran It is a result of human labor (it is different from the Quran) that has developed and changed from classical period to contemporary. It is diverse in terms of methods (manhaj/tariqah), patterns (nau'), and approaches (alwan). The book of Tafsir Marah Labid or Tafsir Al Munir written by Syekh Nawawi Al-Bantani is considered an interpretation that connects between traditional times and modern times. It is different from other tafsir in Archepelago because it uses Arabic, of which was novel in Nusantara’s works during the time. Other than that, Tafsir Marah Labid also contains some of the teachings that represent its time when Dutch colonialist colonized Nusantara.

Abstract

Crime is becoming more widespread, with varied motives and often involving influential elites. The consequences of crimes committed by these elites are enormous, affecting not only themselves but also their families, institutions, and others. Therefore, addressing the increasing crime committed by influential elites requires efforts focused on prevention rather than just heavy punishment. One potential solution is through a religious approach, particularly by referencing the hadiths of Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Several hadiths teach the concept of Zuhd, which emphasizes avoiding excessive wealth accumulation and enjoying giving and sharing blessings with others. This article aims to present the Prophet’s teachings on leading a humble life and not excessively valuing wealth. The study employed qualitative research methods, including a literature review of relevant library sources. As a result, this article emphasizes that the Prophet taught that the orientation of human life should not solely focus on fulfilling worldly demands but also on having faith in the afterlife. Prophet Muhammad (SAW) exemplified Zuhd in his life, and his example needs to be emulated in the modern world today. Elite individuals who embody Zuhd will be more capable of restraining themselves from committing crimes while fulfilling their duties. This is because the attribute of Zuhd encourages everyone capable of committing a crime to refrain from doing so.

Abstract

The debate between women being allowed to leave the house or stay at home has a long discussion. There are two opposing views on this matter. Looking at the problems discussed, the author uses the tahlili approach method which focuses on the words "وَقَرْنَ فِيْ بُيُوْتِكُنَّ " (let you (women) remain in your house), which takes the view that according to Sheikh Muhammad Mutawalli Al-Sha'rawi, he is of the view that women are not allowed to work outside the home because of the many effects of slander that will occur if women do a lot of activities outside the home. In the end, it can be concluded that in the explanation of his interpretation, Sha'rawi provides alternative solutions so that women can work to meet their needs or help their household needs by making creativity or handicrafts that can be done from home and can later be sold. When juxtaposed in today's modern era, women can use social media and sell their services through social media or online, this avoids women working outside the home in order to remain responsible for their domestic work.

Abstract

Al-Qur'an becomes the guide book of all human behavior and becomes the news that will definitely happen in the future. Al-Qur'an always warns mankind about everything, especially warns Muslims to be careful about various things. One of the warnings displayed in the Qur'an is the cunning of hypocrites. Al-Munafiqun is a letter that discusses the characters of hypocrites (munafiqun). The interpreters have interpreted surat al-Munafiqun well, but there are still many differences of opinion that can confuse laymen who are studying surat al-Munafiqun. That is why the writer will review and present the thematic interpretation of surat al-Munafiqun so that it can be understood by the general public. In order to compare and display the interpretation of surat al-Munafiqun in detail and in a structured manner, the writer uses a literature research method with a psychological approach. Data was collected from interpretation books, books of asbabun nuzul, and related articles. The discussion about the characters of hypocrites has several main points, there are: 1) Lie or mendacity; 2) Turning away from the truth; 3) break promises; And 4) Miserly.

Abstract

This article attempts to explain the sentence sawa in interfaith. This concept needs to be further researched because it is anticipated as one of the approaches to inter-religious relations. Kalimatun sawa is a concept that comes from the Koran, namely Surah Ali Imran: 64, which is often used in inter-religious relations. However, there is a difference of opinion from two well-known Indonesian intellectual figures, namely Buya Hamka and Nurcholish Madjid, because they believe that Kalimun Sawa is religious pluralism and there are those who think Kalimun Sawa is a concept that explains that Islam is the only religion that is approved by Allah. . This type of research leads to qualitative research which is based on library research, both print and digital. By using comparative analysis, the author will explain the views of the two intellectuals to be analyzed and compared to reveal their different thought patterns. According to Hamka, Kalimun Sawa is an invitation to the people of the book to return to monotheism in order to establish Islam as the only true religion, on the other hand, Nurcholish Madjid interprets Kalimun Sawa as an effort to unite religions on the same basis. The research results state that current research regarding the Kalimun Sawa concept is not comprehensive enough to develop Nurcholish Madjid's ideas as a whole. Nurcholish Madjid put forward the idea of comprehensive theology, emphasizing Islamic universalism and the need for harmony between Islam, Indonesian culture and modernity. He believes Kalimun Sawa can become a common platform for various religions and contribute to the development of a multicultural model in interfaith relations in Indonesia. In closing, Buya Hamka and Nurcholish Madjid discussed the Kalimatun Sawa concept in the context of interreligious relations, but Nurcholish Madjid's synthetic theological ideas and the role of Kalimatun Sawa in introducing Multiculturalism were more comprehensive and relevant to contemporary Indonesia.
