Abstract

This study is grounded in the premise that mathematical ideas are inseparable from cultural practices and that ethnomathematics can strengthen the relevance of school mathematics for learners in multicultural contexts. It addresses the persistent gap between students’ everyday cultural experiences and formal mathematics instruction in Indonesia and Malaysia, where mathematics is frequently presented as culturally neutral and decontextualized. The study aims to explore how Malay cultural heritage can be systematically integrated into mathematics learning and to identify culturally situated mathematical concepts that may support students’ conceptual understanding. Employing a qualitative ethnographic design, the researchers collected data through semi- structured interviews with teachers, students, and community members, participatory classroom observations, document analysis of instructional materials, and the examination of cultural artefacts. Data were transcribed and analyzed thematically through iterative reduction, categorization, and interpretive comparison across sites. The findings indicate that Malay architectural artefacts provide rich mathematical representations, particularly geometric forms and measurement-related concepts. Specifically, Maimoon Palace and Istana Jahar exhibit recurring structures such as rectangles, triangles, circles, semicircles, hexagons, octagons, and rhombuses, which align directly with curricular topics including perimeter, area, and volume. Overall, the study concludes that integrating Malay cultural artefacts into mathematics instruction offers a pedagogically robust and culturally responsive approach, with implications for enhancing engagement, supporting conceptual learning, and reinforcing cultural appreciation in the context of globalization

Abstract

This study was conducted to examine the implementation of Samarinda Mayor Regulation Number 18 of 2022 concerning Supervision and Implementation of Administrative Sanctions in Waste Management in Samarinda City, with a focus on the Samarinda City District. The background to this policy is increasingly complex environmental problems, particularly the high volume of waste and the low level of public participation and awareness of the importance of orderly waste management. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques such as observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The focus of the analysis uses the policy implementation theory by G. Shabbir Cheema and Dennis A. Rondinelli, which includes four main indicators: environmental conditions, inter-organizational relationships, organizational resources, and the characteristics and capabilities of implementing agents. The data analysis technique uses the interactive model by Miles, Huberman, and Saldana, which involves the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of this policy has generally been running, but is still not optimal. In terms of environmental conditions, it was found that public awareness of disposing of waste in the appropriate place and at the appropriate time is still low. Coordination between implementing agencies, such as the Environmental Agency, sub-districts, urban villages, and neighborhood associations (RT/RW) has not been optimal. Resources, both human resources and supporting facilities such as transportation facilities and temporary disposal sites, remain limited. Meanwhile, policy implementers in the field are deemed not fully prepared, both in terms of policy understanding, technical skills, and ability to address community resistance. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the successful implementation of this Mayoral Regulation is largely determined by the synergy between institutional strengthening, capacity building of implementers, resource availability, and the development of environmental awareness and a culture of order among the community.

Abstract

The use of Augmented Reality (AR) technology in elementary education is growing in line with the demands of 21st-century learning that emphasizes interactive, contextual, and meaningful learning experiences. This study aims to systematically analyze the effect of the use of Augmented Reality-based learning media on the learning process and outcomes of elementary school students in West Sumatra Province using the Joyful Learning approach. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of accredited national journal articles published in the last ten years and relevant to the topics of AR, Joyful Learning, and elementary school education. The results of the study indicate that the use of AR learning media consistently has a positive impact on increasing learning motivation, conceptual understanding, active student involvement, and positive attitudes towards learning, especially when combined with the Joyful Learning approach. In addition, AR can help elementary school students understand abstract concepts through interactive and contextual three-dimensional visualizations. However, several studies also highlight implementation challenges, such as limitations in technological infrastructure and teacher readiness in integrating AR pedagogically.

Abstract

Pendidikan dasar merupakan fondasi penting dalam membentuk karakter dan kemampuan intelektual siswa. Salah satu tantangan dalam proses pembelajaran di sekolah dasar adalah meningkatkan minat belajar siswa, yang merupakan faktor penting dalam menentukan keberhasilan belajar. Minat belajar yang tinggi akan mendorong siswa untuk lebih aktif, fokus, dan termotivasi dalam mengikuti kegiatan pembelajaran. Dalam rangka meningkatkan minat belajar, pemilihan media pembelajaran yang tepat menjadi hal yang sangat krusial. Salah satu media yang terbukti efektif dalam pembelajaran di tingkat sekolah dasar adalah media gambar. Media gambar mampu menarik perhatian siswa karena bersifat visual, konkret, dan mudah dipahami. Gambar juga dapat membantu siswa memahami konsep yang abstrak, serta merangsang daya imajinasi dan kreativitas mereka. Penggunaan media gambar dalam pembelajaran diharapkan dapat menciptakan suasana belajar yang lebih menyenangkan dan interaktif. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana pengaruh penggunaan media gambar terhadap minat belajar siswa sekolah dasar, serta bagaimana media tersebut dapat dioptimalkan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the understanding of Mathematics Education Study Program students towards the mathematical abilities of Junior High School (SMP) and Senior High School (SMA) students, as well as the factors that influence them. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach with 35 fifth semester students of the Mathematics Education Study Program as research subjects. Data were collected using a questionnaire compiled based on indicators of students' understanding of mathematical abilities, problem-solving and mathematical reasoning abilities, pedagogical reflections of prospective teachers, and internal and external factors that influence students' mathematical abilities. Data were analyzed descriptively using percentages and classified into understanding criteria. The results showed that students' understanding of junior high school students' mathematical abilities was in the good category with a percentage of 82.04%, understanding of high school students' mathematical abilities was 82.71%, understanding of problem-solving and mathematical reasoning abilities was 81.58%, students' pedagogical reflection was 81.18%, and understanding of factors that influence students' mathematical abilities was 81.49%. Overall, the research results indicate that students have a good understanding of their role as prospective mathematics teachers, although some areas still require strengthening, particularly understanding student difficulties with specific material and developing ongoing pedagogical reflection. These findings are expected to inform the evaluation and development of the curriculum for prospective mathematics teachers.

Abstract

Abstrak − Aplikasi pembelajaran interaktif pemrograman Python ini dikembangkan untuk mendukung proses belajar mandiri bagi pengguna tingkat pemula melalui media digital yang fleksibel dan mudah diakses. Aplikasi dirancang sebagai platform pembelajaran berbasis web yang menyajikan materi secara sistematis dan interaktif guna meningkatkan pemahaman konseptual serta keterampilan pemrograman pengguna. Pengembangan aplikasi menggunakan framework Django yang mendukung arsitektur aplikasi web yang terstruktur dan aman. Materi pembelajaran disusun secara bertahap, mulai dari pengenalan dasar hingga konsep lanjutan pemrograman Python. Aplikasi ini terintegrasi dengan kode editor Python yang memungkinkan pengguna menulis, menjalankan, dan menguji kode secara langsung pada platform yang sama, sehingga pembelajaran menjadi lebih aplikatif. Selain itu, integrasi media visual dan audio turut mendukung keterlibatan pengguna dalam proses belajar. Hasil pengembangan menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi ini berpotensi menjadi media pembelajaran yang efektif dan efisien bagi masyarakat umum dalam mempelajari pemrograman Python secara mandiri.Kata Kunci: Pembelajaran Interaktif; Pemrograman Python; Aplikasi berbasis web; Framework Django; Abstract − This interactive Python programming learning application was developed to support self-directed learning for beginner-level users through flexible and easily accessible digital media. The application is designed as a web-based learning platform that presents material systematically and interactively to enhance users’ conceptual understanding and programming skills. The development of the application utilizes the Django framework, which supports a structured and secure web application architecture. The learning materials are organized progressively, starting from basic introductions to advanced Python programming concepts. The application is integrated with a Python code editor that allows users to write, run, and test code directly within the same platform, making the learning process more practical. In addition, the integration of visual and audio media further supports user engagement in the learning process. The development results indicate that this application has the potential to become an effective and efficient learning medium for the general public to study Python programming independently.Keywords: Interactive Learning; Python Programming; Web-based Application; Django Framework;

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to produce and develop E-LKM as a learning medium for the statistics course. The problem-based learning method was chosen because it increases student engagement and their understanding of statistical concepts through solving real-world problems. The process of developing E-LKM uses the PLOMP model, which consists of four stages. The research subjects are students III from the Mathematics Education semester at UMN Al-Washliyah, and the study involved a trial with a group of students. The research results show that the E-LKM statistical method is considered valid by content and media validators and is practical for use in learning. The results of using E-LKM show that E-LKM falls into the valid criteria with an average of 86.76%, and E-LKM is considered very practical in trials with an average of 83.34%. Therefore, the resulting E-LKM is valid, easy to use, and receives positive feedback Keywords: E-LKM, Problem-Based Learning, Statistical Methods

Abstract

Pemahaman konsep merupakan aspek fundamental dalam pembelajaran matematika di sekolah dasar, khususnya pada materi bangun ruang yang menuntut kemampuan visualisasi dan penalaran spasial. Namun, berbagai studi menunjukkan bahwa siswa masih mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami konsep secara mendalam akibat pembelajaran yang cenderung abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat pemahaman konsep bangun ruang pada siswa sekolah dasar serta faktor-faktor yang memengaruhinya melalui pendekatan studi literatur. Metode yang digunakan adalah literature review dengan menganalisis artikel ilmiah relevan yang dipublikasikan dalam rentang tahun 2021–2025. Teknik analisis data menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif melalui sintesis tematik. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman konsep siswa berada pada kategori sedang, di mana siswa umumnya mampu mengidentifikasi bentuk bangun ruang namun mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami hubungan antar unsur serta penerapan konsep pada penyelesaian masalah. Faktor utama yang memengaruhi meliputi metode pembelajaran, penggunaan media konkret, dan keterlibatan aktif siswa. Implikasi penelitian menunjukkan pentingnya penerapan strategi pembelajaran inovatif berbasis visual dan manipulatif untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep secara optimal.
