Abstract

Spatial intelligence is a fundamental ability that needs to be developed from an early age; however, its stimulation remains limited due to the lack of learning media that integrate visual, kinesthetic, and cognitive aspects. This study aims to: (1) develop the Cheerful Engklek Carpet game to stimulate spatial intelligence in early childhood, (2) examine the feasibility of the game, and (3) test its effectiveness in enhancing children’s spatial intelligence. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using a modified 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The subjects consisted of 48 children aged 5–6 years at TK Plus Tunas Rimba, Purwakarta Regency, divided into an experimental group (24 children) and a control group (24 children). Data were collected through expert validation, observation, interviews, and spatial intelligence tests, and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics (independent and paired sample t-tests). The results indicate that the developed game is highly feasible (4.65), practical (4.41), and well-implemented (95.6%). It is also highly effective, with a 49.6% improvement in the experimental group compared to 7.0% in the control group (p < 0.001; Cohen’s d = 2.92). In conclusion, the Cheerful Engklek Carpet game is highly feasible and effective in holistically stimulating spatial intelligence in early childhood.

Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir komputasional merupakan keterampilan abad ke-21 yang perlu dikembangkan sejak usia dini, namun implementasinya di PAUD terkendala minimnya media pembelajaran yang sesuai. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan buku cerita bergambar "Rutinitas Ajaib Kiko" yang valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir komputasional anak usia 5-6 tahun. Pendekatan Research and Development (R&D) digunakan dengan model 4D yang dimodifikasi (Define, Design, Develop), melibatkan 20 anak dari RA Bina Ananda 1 dan RA Bina Ananda 2. Instrumen penelitian meliputi: lembar validasi ahli materi (11 butir), lembar validasi ahli pembelajaran PAUD (51 butir), lembar validasi ahli media (23 butir), asesmen kemampuan berpikir komputasional berskala Likert 1-5 dengan empat indikator (dekomposisi, pengenalan pola, abstraksi, algoritma), dan angket respons guru (12 butir). Analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif, Paired Sample t-test, dan N-Gain. Hasil validasi ahli rata-rata 81,74% (Sangat Layak); uji efektivitas signifikan (t=-38,987; p<0,05) dengan N-gain 0,5135 (kategori sedang); dan praktikalitas 98,33% (Sangat Praktis). Penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa buku cerita bergambar merupakan media pembelajaran berpikir komputasional yang valid, efektif, dan praktis untuk anak usia dini tanpa ketergantungan teknologi digital kompleks.

Abstract

Improving early reading literacy in early childhood remains a critical challenge in education, especially under the demands of the Merdeka Curriculum, which emphasizes meaningful and child-centered learning. One relevant pedagogical approach is deep learning, which focuses on reflective thinking, critical engagement, and active student participation. This community service activity aimed to enhance the competencies of kindergarten teachers across Purwakarta Regency in designing and implementing early reading instruction based on the deep learning approach. The implementation method included interactive seminars, hands-on sessions, reflective discussions, and evaluations through pre-test and post-test assessments. A total of 50 teachers participated in this program. The results showed a significant increase in teachers’ understanding of early literacy concepts and their ability to apply deep learning strategies, with an average score improvement of 30%. In addition, positive changes in teachers' attitudes toward innovative teaching methods were observed through qualitative feedback and observation. This program demonstrates that the deep learning approach is effectively applicable in early childhood education settings and contributes to improving the quality of early literacy instruction. The study recommends continuous professional development, policy support from local education authorities, and the development of supporting learning media to strengthen the application of this approach. Therefore, this activity not only addresses the practical needs of teachers but also enriches pedagogical strategies in early childhood education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh keterbatasan panduan aplikatif serta kurangnya kolaborasi terstruktur antara sekolah dan orang tua dalam pembentukan karakter anak usia dini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan produk berupa panduan guru PAUD dalam mengimplementasikan nilai karakter Tujuh Kebiasaan Anak Indonesia Hebat. Produk yang dihasilkan berbentuk buku panduan praktis dan sistematis yang memuat konsep dasar karakter, langkah-langkah implementasi dalam kegiatan pembelajaran, serta instrumen pemantauan dan evaluasi yang dapat digunakan guru secara langsung di kelas.. Metode yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model 4-D (define, design, develop, disseminate). Penelitian dilakukan di TK Negeri Tegal, Jakarta Pusat dengan melibatkan guru PAUD sebagai subjek penelitian, serta ahli materi dan ahli media sebagai validator. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar validasi, observasi, dan angket respon guru, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) kebutuhan guru terhadap panduan mencapai 81,11%; (2) hasil validasi ahli materi sebesar 94% dan ahli media sebesar 95% dengan kategori sangat layak; serta (3) respon guru terhadap kepraktisan produk mencapai 91,5% dengan kategori sangat baik. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa panduan yang dikembangkan memiliki tingkat validitas dan kepraktisan yang tinggi serta mudah digunakan dalam implementasi pembelajaran. Kontribusi ilmiah penelitian ini terletak pada pengembangan produk panduan berbasis pembiasaan karakter yang aplikatif, terstruktur, dan kontekstual untuk PAUD, yang tidak hanya memperkaya kajian pendidikan karakter secara konseptual tetapi juga memberikan solusi praktis bagi guru dalam mengintegrasikan nilai karakter ke dalam kegiatan pembelajaran sehari-hari serta memperkuat sinergi antara sekolah dan orang tua.

Abstract

Purpose: Early mathematics learning in early childhood education often emphasizes procedural skills such as counting and number recognition, while mathematical communication receives less attention. Consequently, children have limited opportunities to express, represent, and interpret mathematical ideas meaningfully. This study aimed to examine the impact of play-based learning on early mathematical communication skills among children aged 5–6 years.Method: A quantitative approach employing a quasi-experimental pretest–posttest control group design was used. The participants consisted of 32 children aged 5–6 years enrolled at Al Azkar Kindergarten, Pamulang, Indonesia. Data were collected using an observational instrument based on the learning trajectories framework and analyzed using Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA) to determine the effect of the intervention while controlling for initial ability.Findings: The results revealed a significant effect of play-based learning on early mathematical communication skills. Children in the experimental group demonstrated significantly higher posttest scores than those in the control group after controlling for pretest performance (p < .001). The intervention produced a very large effect (η²p = .886), indicating substantial improvement in children’s ability to express, represent, and interpret mathematical ideas through verbal, representational, visual, and symbolic forms of communication.Significance: This study provides empirical evidence that play-based learning is an effective approach for fostering multidimensional mathematical communication in early childhood. The findings contribute to the growing literature on early mathematics education by positioning mathematical communication as a central developmental outcome and highlighting the role of play in supporting meaningful mathematical learning.

Abstract

Pendidikan anak usia dini memerlukan sumber belajar yang inovatif dan terstruktur untuk membantu guru menciptakan kegiatan bermain yang bermakna sesuai tahap perkembangan anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan buku panduan guru (Eduplay Zone) sebagai media pembelajaran dalam menata ragam kegiatan bermain berbasis minat anak. Penelitian menggunakan desain mixed-method dengan pendekatan Research and Development (R&D) melalui model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation). Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 22 guru dan kepala sekolah dari dua TK di Kota Bekasi. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, angket, dan wawancara. Hasil validasi menunjukkan tingkat kelayakan tinggi: 95,0% dari ahli materi, 97,5% dari ahli bahasa, dan 82,5% dari ahli media, dengan revisi minor. Pada tahap implementasi, efektivitas panduan terlihat dari peningkatan keterampilan guru dalam menata ragam main, di mana kategori “sangat terampil” meningkat dari 5% menjadi 35%. Selain itu, panduan ini berdampak positif pada perkembangan anak, dengan peningkatan kreativitas sebesar 32,1%, interaksi sosial 24,5%, dan kemandirian 21,7%. Dengan demikian, buku panduan Eduplay Zone dinyatakan valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk mendukung guru PAUD serta memperkuat praktik pembelajaran berbasis bermain dan minat anak.
