Abstract

Psychosocial services in primary schools are vital for a more inclusive and equitable education but still remain largely absent within Indonesia, for they cause an important gap when they do not quite meet children’s emotional and behavioral needs. This study aims to examine the urgency and relevance of psychosocial support in Indonesian primary education. Using a systematic literature review of national and international journals published between 2020 and 2025, the study synthesizes empirical findings on children’s psychosocial development, the roles and limitations of primary school teachers, and effective school-based mental health interventions globally. Results reveal that the lack of structured psychosocial services affects children’s emotional well-being negatively. Addressing these issues also places an unsustainable burden upon untrained teachers. A comparative analysis of countries such as Finland, South Korea, and South Africa highlights some successful models that integrate mental health support within the school systems. Indonesia risks obstructing holistic young learner development without urgent policy changes, teacher capacity building, and strong school-community collaboration, the study concludes. Key recommendations include teachers implementing basic psychosocial training, school communities establishing collaborative networks, and integrating mental health policies within national education frameworks to promote sustainable and inclusive primary education.

Abstract

This study reviews the implementation challenges and strategic responses associated with educational quality management in Indonesian primary schools. As education systems increasingly adopt global quality frameworks such as Total Quality Management (TQM), ISO 21001, and the EFQM model, their alignment with national policy instruments, including the National Education Standards (SNP), Minimum Service Standards (SPM), and the 2024 Primary School Accreditation Framework—remains uneven. The research aims to identify key barriers in translating these frameworks into practical, sustainable quality assurance systems at the school level. Using a qualitative integrative literature review methodology, the study synthesizes findings from national regulations, international models, and peer-reviewed publications between 2015 and 2024. The analysis reveals five dominant challenges: fragmented governance, weak leadership capacity, limited teacher professionalism, inadequate infrastructure, and underutilized data systems. These issues not only hinder the fulfillment of national standards but also misalign with the global imperative for inclusive and continuous quality improvement. The study proposes strategic directions, including policy harmonization, leadership development, resource equity, and digital integration. Ultimately, the paper advocates a shift from compliance-oriented management to adaptive, stakeholder-driven improvement systems capable of supporting resilient and future-ready schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of managerial supervision by madrasah supervisors at the Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) level, covering aspects of planning, implementation, evaluation, and follow-up. Managerial supervision serves as an essential instrument for enhancing the effectiveness of madrasah principals' leadership and the quality of educational governance. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation at several MTs under the supervision of supervisors in Kudus Regency. The findings indicate that supervision planning has been systematically arranged, yet it lacks a strong foundation in the actual needs of the madrasahs. The implementation phase tends to emphasize administrative aspects and has not fully developed strategic coaching functions. While the evaluation process follows standard guidelines, it has not been optimized to support the professional development of madrasah principals. The follow-up actions on supervision results are not conducted consistently and show limited use of technology. Therefore, managerial supervision needs to be directed toward a more dialogical, quality-oriented, and data-driven coaching process that leverages information technology.

Abstract

This study aims to examine teachers' strategies in developing differentiated instruction for slow learner students in elementary schools, particularly at MI Adab and Tahfidz Baleharjo, Pacitan. The research is grounded in the context of the Merdeka Curriculum, which emphasizes inclusive and responsive learning tailored to the diverse needs of students. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research subjects included the principal and a fifth-grade teacher. The findings reveal that while the teacher has a basic understanding of slow learner characteristics, the implementation of differentiated instruction strategies is not yet optimal. Adjustments in instructional time, content, and learning processes have begun but remain general and unstructured. Continuous training and mentoring are needed to enable teachers to design more adaptive, effective, and individualized learning services for slow learner students. Abstract

The development of digital technology and the unique characteristics of Generation Z have driven the need for innovation in Indonesian language learning, particularly to improve the speaking skills of junior high school students. Conventional learning methods are often ineffective in building student confidence, creativity, and active participation. This study aims to develop and test the effectiveness of synergy between theater, speech recognition technology, and chatbots as a more interactive and relevant learning innovation. Using a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, this study collected data through observations, interviews, questionnaires, and a pilot test of the teaching module. The results showed significant improvements in students' speaking skills, including fluency, clarity, and argument structure. Students became more confident, creative, and engaged, thanks to the automatic feedback from the speech recognition technology and adaptive conversational practice provided by the chatbot. This innovative module also increases student motivation and engagement, supports the implementation of the Independent Curriculum, and the development of 21st-century skills. This synergy has proven effective and can be widely adopted to create more personalized learning that meets the demands of the digital age.
